[ As soon as the pair step out through the doors of the small cafe does the bell chime gently in response to signal their leave. The young God bows his head just slightly in that moment to their friendly departing words. Once out, he emits a quiet sigh with his gloved hand rubbing at the back of his head. ]
Well.. it was a long shot anyways, but I had hope we'd find it there. [ It must have been hard to lose a tiny photograph from his wallet, but it happened. Even though it's essentially a game of loss and found but Sorey doesn't mind. The photo seems really dear to the guy- to see how broken up he was of losing a photo of him and a girl, whom he assumes is the reason he's praying so hard to find it again.
No matter what, he wants to find it for him.
Even if.. well, it takes him a long time to do it! They lucked out on the first location, but he had said he came by the park as well so Sore is hopeful here is where they'll find it. He pulls out a small book to peer at the area's map in look of where to go next. ] Alright, let's try the park next. It should be.. over on this way.
[ He points first, ensuring his partner sees where they're heading before he's already putting the book away. ] Hey, what did you think about all those sweets in the cafe? Didn't they look good? [ Mindless chatter while they're on their way. Though, one would think after Sorey's immediate arrival and having that reaction to bad chocolates would put him off from sweets for a while. ]

TA-DA!
[ This feels more official if he does it all like this, yes. He drops one hand to turn it over a little before eventually holding it out for Mikleo to take a look at the end of his words. ] Not really. At first I thought it was weird it was up in the trees since it doesn't really feel that windy today. But then when I held it- I actually knew things!
I'm guessing it's a new ability I have? I was able to tell who took the photo, who was in it and I even figured out who took--
[ In a sudden flash does something whip between the pair and the extended photo to snatch it out of his hands. Sorey stares dumbfounded for a moment before glancing over to where the akayashi now stands perched on the fence with photo in jaws. ] That! That's what took it!
[ He's barely had enough experience with facing these before, until he was too sick to fight them on more. But he can tell what it is without anyone saying. ] It turns out that he didn't actually lose it, it was stolen by this akayashi!
Mikleo, we need to get rid of it.

Unfortunately, the interruption by the ayakashi has the seraph immediately summoning his staff. He takes a battle ready stance, letting his body remember what his mind doesn't. As much as Mikleo fears dogs, he won't let that stop him from defending Sorey to the best of his ability.
He'll just. Keep his distance from it.]
Can do, but we can't damage that photo. Unfortunately, I'm not the best person for the job.
[Considering he uses water as his primary element. Wind or earth would be much better in comparison at this point, if only to get the photo away before they kill it.]
Should we see what form I take?
[Hopefully it's better than water!]

[ What do they do then? With how small and quick this ayakashi is, his ceremonial sword won't be that easy to work with. He holds it in his hand and watches it warily- afraid it might escape the longer they don't go after it. ]
--Huh? You mean... call your name? [ He blinks over, almost surprised to Mikleo. Which isn't strange really. It's be expected that a God would use his shinki to fight but he still reacts this way. Admittedly he's curious to see what Mikleo's vessel form is- and yet he didn't want to just call it without his permission, but.. if Mikleo was fine with it, then of course it might just be the chance they need for this. ]
Is that okay? [ Yeah, still gonna wait for that go ahead anyways. ]
no subject
Still, he keeps his eyes on the ayakashi. Mikleo suspects it's waiting for a good opportunity to strike at them or run away.]
We have to find out anyway.
[Mikleo almost glances towards Sorey, but he manages to refrain.]
I trust you with my name. You don't need to ask permission.
[While his tone is firm, there is some gentleness in it, too.]
no subject
He whips his sword to the side before sticking it in its sheath. ] Thanks, Mikleo.
[ Sorey shows him a quick smile at that. He's honestly glad that Mikleo feels he can trust him with his name. It makes him really happy.
He steadies himself, as though to prepare for whatever form Mikleo turns to. He can see the ayakashi flare its wings with the turn of the mood and photograph still in jaws.
Mikleo's name. All he has to do is call it out. His name. His.. true name. His true-- ]
Luzrov Rulay!
[ For a moment, nothing happens. Honestly Sorey isn't too sure why he expects something to happen. That's not the name Mikleo has as a shinki- that's not the name that changes the form of his vessel. Why did he think that was the name? Rather, why did he say it when he thought of Mikleo's name?
Instead Sorey is staring blankly before looking over to Mikleo with wide eyes of confusion.
The ayakashi, however, isn't just gonna sit around and let this continue on.
this isn't animeIt's gonna take this chance to strike either at one of them or the both of them. ]no subject
It shocks him badly enough that it gives the ayakashi an opening. While the seraph's instincts work enough to put himself between the ayakashi and Sorey as well as raise his staff to block the attack, his guard's too weak as he tries to regain his composure. The ayakashi rakes its hind claws across Mikleo's chest as it tries to leap over the seraph to swipe at Sorey.
Mikleo has to grit his teeth in order to not make a sound of pain. He can't distract Sorey anymore than he already is.]
no subject
His heart is racing quickly but this time he doesn't hesitate when he calls out the next name. ]
Mizuki!
[ For some reason, holding the now recurve bow in his hand is familiar. The way he near instantly fires a shot at the ayakashi- it dodges, flaring back enough to put some distance between them.
He holds it then but- even though instinctively he felt like he's done this before, that he knew what he was doing. He's also a little distracted that this bow is actually Mikleo. ] A, Are you okay?
no subject
Mikleo has to take a moment to adjust to it as he suddenly gets sensory information from a source he doesn't expect. Emotions from the people around him, including Sorey, are abruptly known to him. It's almost overwhelming until he can get some semblance of control by focusing solely on the god's emotional state.]
I'm fine.
[Sorey might get a sense of reassurance with some slight pain under it. Sadly, this isn't intentional on Mikleo's part.]
More importantly, this is exactly what we needed to deal with that thing. Are you good with aiming or would you like me to handle it?
no subject
It increases when he feels that slight pain. Sorey notes it quickly enough with his attention on it. ] --You're hurt.
[ There's guilt now. He feels bad for having lost concentration like that. Sorey froze up and Mikleo had gotten hurt because of it. However, Mikleo's words distract him enough to refocus on holding up his vessel form in an attempt to direct at the aykashi in the air. ]
Can you handle the aiming then? I'll take care of the timing! [ He feels nothing but loads of trust towards Mikleo. ]
no subject
That guilt is something he'll have to address later. For now, Mikleo has to make sure he's worthy of Sorey's trust.]
Leave it to me.
[It's no different than aiming his spells, thankfully. The seraph adjusts his god's aim, trying to get a clear shot for him as the damn ayakashi flies around. Although...if they miss their shot, Mikleo won't hesitate to act as a shield, even in this form, if it means keeping Sorey safe from harm.]
no subject
Almost... almost-- ] Now!
[ He releases the arrow and the loud cry that comes in response alerts it was a direct hit. The flying is more disruption now, struggling, and the photograph has fallen and began to flutter towards the ground.
Now they can really give it all they've got without worry about destroying the picture. And they'll know exactly where that ayakashi will be heading. Directly right after the falling picture. Fluidly adding another arrow does he quickly release it and waits with a held breath on whether this one hits again. ]
no subject
Mikleo doesn't rest on his laurels just yet. He quickly takes aim at what he hopes is a vital spot. The combination of the seraph's aim and Sorey's timing works just as planned. The arrow punches quite deeply into where the creature's heart should be. It screeches horribly as it disintegrates into nothing.
Only now does the water seraph relax.]
Nice job, Sorey.
[For once, he'll give the god a little praise. It'll probably be a long time before Sorey gets another compliment from him, though.]
Let's check the photo for any damage.
no subject
That feeling bubbles over at Mikleo's compliment. ]
Hey, you weren't too bad yourself!
[ Taking that compliment straight to heart either way. ] Good idea.
Mizuki. [ He lets Mikleo revert forms back once they're close to the photo, but he doesn't look it over just yet. He's focused on Mikleo instead. He knows he must have gotten hurt earlier. ] Here, you got hurt right? Let's take a look.
no subject
Unfortunately, this does mean he has to actually deal with the damage the ayakashi dealt. The seraph winces as the hand not holding his staff moves automatically to clutch at the wound. It doesn't feel too deep, at least, but there is blood.]
Ah...no, it's alright. I can heal it.
[Mikleo takes his hand away from the wound and brings up his staff, concentrating. A glyph appears below his feet, glowing brightly and somehow stirring up a small wind around him. After a moment, he mutters the incantation for Resilient Aid and releases the spell. The wound heals instantly, and there's a brief look of relief on his face. Mikleo will still have to clean the blood and repair his clothes, but at least he's not in pain anymore.]
See? Nothing to worry about.
no subject
To think you had something like that in you all along. [ In a way he felt like it's something he should have known. That he shouldn't have been that worried. But, even so, it didn't sit right with him to have seen Mikleo get hurt in his stead instead.
He's relieved that it wasn't too serious. He can focus their attention back on the photograph. ] What do you say about us going and returning this photo back now?
no subject
It's not that spectacular, just really handy. If anything, your vision was more amazing.
[Still, the photo's more important right now.]
I'm in agreement. Let's not keep him waiting any longer.
no subject
[ The healing, the attacking- all Sorey handled was the timing. Mikleo is definitely the more impressive one here.
He nods after, grinning now at ease before he pockets the photo away. Don't want to lose it before they can return it, after all. ] Yeah, c'mon.
[ He'll start to lead the way, but lingers enough to let Mikleo catch up and be at his side while they focus on leaving the park first. ] Still, they sure cause a lot of trouble here, don't they. [ Referring to their earlier encounter. It was like that when they arrived too. ]
no subject
[In his mind, Sorey is just as impressive. Magic might not be his forte, but his martial prowess more than makes up for that, despite its inelegance. There's a certain charm to that, though.
Mikleo follows after him, settling at the god's left.]
From what I've understood, they have some similarities to hellions. Though, it seems that the fundamental difference is that ayakashi attack a normal person's mind.
no subject
[ Like something he'd done before. Instinctual. But that's about as much he can say. He wishes he knew more than that. ]
Hellions? [ His head tilts to the side with a curious look. Again, he feels like the word is familiar but.. ] Some of them can attack us too. Or, I should probably say, some specifically go after us.
no subject
[Mikleo nods.]
Perhaps they're a natural enemy of gods and shinki, or spirits in general. As for hellions...they're living beings that take on a monstrous form when they're corrupted by malevolence. They can be purified, but I believe only the Lady of the Lake has that ability.
