tomorrow we'll be open again (open/mingle)

Who: Visitors, students and teachers at the abandoned temple school
When: June 26 - July 9
Where: The building and grounds of the abandoned temple recently renovated into a school
What: Classes, hanging out, sparring, dinner and any conversations that people would prefer to keep private.
Warnings:None anticipated! Since this is a mingle, warn in your comment subject line if necessary.

School Kitchen

[The kitchen is on the first floor towards the back of the building, and fairly large, with two sinks, a large wood-burning stove and oven, and a small assortment of inexpensive cooking tools, pots and pans Hakkai has purchased from flea markets. There's an attached walk-in refrigerator and freezer that looks like a plain stone-walled larder, except that, as you walk further in, it gets colder and colder. It's probably magic.

Anyone is welcome to use the facilities to prepare food or teach cooking, although it's strictly bring-your-own-ingredients. Make sure you clean up after you're done!]

Classrooms

[There are classrooms on both the second and third floors, in all sizes from a cozy study-room that can accommodate five or six to large rooms that could seat fifty. A few have desks, tables, and largely empty bookshelves. Most have a blackboard mounted on the wall, and windows open to the summer breezes., and the ones empty of furniture have still been cleaned and are free for other uses.

Being uninhabited, they aren't always guaranteed to be empty. Curious animals -- or animal spirits -- may wander through. Watch for wasps, or the occasional tanuki…]

Courtyard

[A moderately sized yard surrounds the building. In front, it is partly paved, and partly shorter grass, free for kicking around a ball or practicing martial arts. Most of the sides and back are heavily overgrown, with barely any effort made so far to cut back the vegetation. Trees, vines and bushes entwine in bright, summery green foliage. At the very back of the yard, at the bottom of the garden, a pond lies veiled heavily in green duckweed, its banks choked with reeds and lotus. Once, it might have been a cleansing spring. Now… well, from the way the water moves, there are some very big fish swimming under that duckweed.

Or, at least, they're probably fish. It's hard to be sure. Swimming is not recommended.]

[ He's willing enough to become a grounds crew, and drag Mei and Sanada into it, just for a practice space. ]

Well, we can give it a go when debris gets cleared, I guess. [ Miyuki is officially resigned to this fate now, and invested. ] But it kinda depends - it'd be for baseball, and we can make do with a practice field just fine instead of something full size. Especially for teaching other people how to play.

[ He puts his had back on, blowing out some air and turning in a circle to take in the surrounding area. It's not too hard to figure out the math, especially when he's got everything here, right in front of him. ]

A full sized field, for high school leagues, would be about 107 meters in radius. Rounded up.

High. I can hit a homer out of a full-sized field, a practice field would be small change. But - [ He turns to face the school, drawing a line in the outside area of it. ]

Putting home by the school would make it so the only threats are pitches and fouls, and a high fence or net would work to keep anything from hitting a window.

Yeah, even a chainlink would be a little tedious to deal with. A net's not that hard to install, just have to get some sturdy posts high enough to stand between an errant baseball and a window.

[ He looks at those windows and dreads the thought of having to replace them.

We'll uh - yeah, we'll try and avoid that.
