Summary: Heaven is throwing a small party to view the sakura and let everyone relax.



After the absolute disaster that happened with handing out chocolates, the Heavens are tripping over themselves to make up for their inability to properly handle the situation. They are eager to make amends and assure everyone that they are hardworking individuals who want nothing more than to make everyone's stay here enjoyable or at least pleasant. To that end, they have invited all of the gods and shinki to a lovely flower viewing, since the sakura are in season.

And by 'invited', they mean 'mandatory', of course. You will accept their apology, whether you like it or not.

It's not all bad, though. The Heavens have provided various kimonos that can be worn, if you haven't brought your own, but you're not required to wear a kimono. They would, however, really like it if you did wear them. It's very traditionally Japanese, after all.

The party is taking place at night so that you can all hide your merrymaking from the Near Shore residents and also because the night sky is beautiful against the cherry blossoms. So try to at least enjoy yourselves while you're here.



Banquet

Every kind of food imaginable is available for your eating pleasure. On top of that, there are dozens of different kinds of desserts ready to be devoured as well. For the older crowd, booze has been provided and is being served by white-clad shinki bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. They are, however, refusing to serve alcohol to anyone who looks too young to drink, sorry guys.

Cherry Blossoms

The blossoms are absolutely gorgeous this year, and they are at the peak of their blooming right now. Nearly every single bud has bloomed and the pink petals are floating by everywhere you go. There is an ethereal light emanating from each of the trees, lighting up the area with a soft, pink light, yet it doesn't seem to be drowning out the brightness of the stars at all. It really is the most beautiful cherry blossom viewing anyone could ever hope for.

"Secret" Corner

Somehow, the Heavens have managed to make one small corner of the grotto into a completely secluded area. There is no marking or signs to indicate what this corner should be used for, but anyone entering it will suddenly realize that this is a place for lovers to meet privately. Only those that you enter the corner with will be able to notice your presence, and you will be unable to notice anyone else's presence as well. Enjoy yourselves, young ones!

Counselling

Off to the side, there is a tiny table set up with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". On the other side of the table is a sweetly smiling shinki who is willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. She is also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead. Counselling will also gladly be offered to anyone who is still pissed off or upset in any way about what happened after White Day.

[He was studying the provided food carefully. The last time he had seen a spread similar to this, he had gotten himself into some trouble, let's say. While it wouldn't be out of line for someone to to be a little gun-shy about taking food again, if the same was true for Ross, that would have to mean he had any sort of shame about being so brazen. Instead, the question he asked with a deadly serious look on his face was this:]

Mochi or cake...?

[Dessert was very serious business.]

Cherry blossoms

[After everything with the chocolate, it was hard to not be suspicious of the glowing trees. He couldn't tell if it was magic that was making them glow either. Still, maybe those petals would be useful somehow, and there was the possibility of using them in his tinctures, too. And so, there he went, collecting nearby cherry blossom petals in an empty glass.

If nothing else, he could try making jam out of them or something.]

“Secret” corner

[He hadn't wandered over here for any particular reason, but once he actually entered it and realized what this area was for, he could certainly think of reasons why he didn't want to be here. Nope. He was just going to pass on this one. The concept of romantic love was so foreign to him that it might as well have been another language, and his interest in it fell somewhere below nonexistent.

Ross was in such a rush to get out of there that when he inevitably bumped into someone who was also unlucky enough to come this way, it actually wasn't on purpose. For anyone else that wouldn't be particularly notable, but this was Ross after all.]

Ah, my bad.

[Yup, that's all you're getting. Now please get out his way so he can continue to nope out of this situation--!]

Counselling

[Ross had already accepted that he was dead. Or rather, when he realized that was what had happened, he had just focused on what he could do right then instead of what had just been taken away from him. He wasn't even there to complain about White Day, although the well-meaning shinki sitting across from him had certainly brought it up. Unfortunately for her, that enquiry had only been met with a derisive grimace and a quip that was stated a little too plainly. No, he was here for a different reason.]

These are terrible working conditions. How do I report my god for harassment?

[To be honest, that wasn't an entirely unfair statement to make, considering he had a boulder thrown at him by said god quite recently.]

[Leo looks over at the man standing next to him, staring at the cake and...whatever the hell the other thing was. He thinks he remembers seeing that served sometimes when one of the Hoshidans was cooking, but hells if he knows what it is]

...what's mochi?

[shiitan]

You don't know what it is? Ah, that's too bad. I feel sorry for you.

[Ross let out a deep sigh, as if not knowing about mochi was a truly pitiable thing. While he had also sidestepped Leo's question, that was more of a perk than a specific goal.

(Plus, he didn't feel that bad. He told a fib just now.)]

If I knew what it was, I wouldn't have asked. What is it?

It's food. [Wasn't he just so helpful?]

​[ Terrible working conditions? Nagi has wandered into the counseling area just out of curiosity, not out of need. But he overhears this particular complaint and it piques his interest. Having not met his god yet, he's a little curious how these work associations go. ]

What happened to you...?

[Ross craned his neck without turning in his seat and stared at Nagi with a flat expression.]

Were you eavesdropping? That's very rude, you know. [He was the absolutely last person who should be giving a lecture on manners, though.]

[cyberfly]

[ Nagi didn't know much about manners either, so there's that? He shrugged, seemingly not too worried about the rebuke. ]

I was passing by and I overheard. You were talking loud enough.

[shiitan]

You overheard? Ah, that's too bad. Now you've heard too much.

[Ross mirrored that previous shrug. He wasn't serious about it at all, but it didn't exactly say good things about him if he could say that with a completely straight face.]

[ Well if this guy wants an apology, he's not about to get one. Nagi doesn't feel particularly bad about it. It's not like he was purposely snooping. And even if he was, it would've been for good reason. But at least he can say this much: ]

[ Why should he have to bring him stuff? Nagi stares at him blankly for a while. ]

Will you tell me more about your situation if I do?

[ After all, he did want to know about the 'terrible working conditions.' ]

[Sheryl is in the middle of finishing her mochi when she cranes her head and— whoa, this man is so serious about dessert! She spares the treats he's holding with a curious glance, then arches an eyebrow at him.

The answer seems so simple to her that she shrugs nonchalantly, complete with a dramatic pause.]

Why settle for just one? Go for both!

[shiitan]

[Ah. He hadn't even noticed she was there until she spoke up. Sheryl's answer certainly gave him an opening, though.]

You think I should try both? Alright, I'll do that. [Ross just plopped the mochi on top of the cake. There, it's mochi cake now.]

[galactically]

Of course, if they're both so delicious.

[Just... gawks at this mash-up with wide eyes, then laughs in amusement because Mochi cake... this gives her a strange idea, funny enough.]

Someone should make a recipe with this! [A beat.] Hey, let's see if you can fit that.

[shiitan]

Fit that? You mean fit the whole slice in my mouth? [He was pretty sure that wasn't what she meant at all, but it was funnier this way.]

I don't think I can... Here, you should try. [Oh boy, he was reaching for a fork.] Ready? Open wiiiiiiide.

[She'd say more, but the moment he suggests that, well... she's quick to take a step back and give him a sour look, eyes turning into narrowed slits.]

Keep that away from me or I'll make you regret it!

(OOC: It's okay! I hope you're feeling well now)

[Haha. That would have to do, as he wasn't about to risk letting his cake fall from its precarious position on his fork. Don't worry cake Sheryl, you're safe now.]

Oh, so you don't like cake after all? Alright, suit yourself. [Of course, he took a much more reasonable bite of cake after saying that.]

No, I just don't like strangers trying to shove things in my face.

[A sigh of relief slips out of Sheryl before the corners of her lips tug to form a polite, yet very passive-aggressive smile.]

Bad things tend to happen when they do.

[Meaning pain ensues.]

Secret corner!

[This isn't Ayumu's first trip to the corner. She'd come across it earlier, too, only then she had a bottle of sake with her. Now the bottle's gone, along with her glum mood, and the woman's all smiles, flushed cheeks, and good cheer as she approaches, her steps a little wobbly. When she bumps into Ross on his way out, she stumbles a little, clutching at his shoulders for support.]

Ross-san! It's Ross-san! Hello!

[shiitan]

[Oh geez. It didn't take a genius to figure out what happened to Ayumu--or rather, the person he knew as Yumi. He had only met her recently, but that didn't stop him from imagining how much she must have had for her to start acting like this.]

You're going to fall over if you keep trying to walk around.

[He said that, but he made no effort to dissuade her from using his shoulders to steady herself.]

[Ayumu laughs, still hanging onto him for balance. Truth be told, she's not nearly as drunk as she seems. She's mildly tipsy and in a much happier mood than she'd been earlier. So what's a little harmless pranking at a party? Besides, she can always practice her drunk act.]

I'll be fine! But if I fall, you'll catch me, won't you, Ross-san?

[There's another carefree laugh and wobble.]

[OOC: No worries! I hope you're feeling better. Being sick's awful. :/]

Nope. [Uh.] You made it this far without me catching you. You don't need me for that.

[Yeah, he was not the one to go to for earnest or playful responses. Not to mention he hadn't forgotten that she had seemed somewhat resistant to his help last time they met.]

I'll pull you up if you fall down, but that's all.

So mean! But if you help me stand up, I guess that's okay.

[Ayumu beams at him, now clinging to his arm. They had gotten off to a rocky start but surely they could make amends somehow. She's willing to try, at least.]

So were you meeting someone special, Ross-san? It's a corner for lovers, you know.

[shiitan]

[Urk. He was not prepared for this. Her question didn't exactly help things either. Drunk or not, his first thought was that she had some sort of angle here.]

I know that now. That's why I was on my way out. [Yeah, he definitely wasn't going to answer that question.]

Why are you in here if you already knew that?
