Summary: A breach in the space-time continuum is messing things up.

The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...

Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[ July 16th- Age 21]

[It is said that people often wish that they could of skipped over their awkward teenage years, unfortunately Rei was not one of them. He treasured every single embarrassing moment (and already he had witnessed more then enough embarrassment in this afterlife of his) and viewed them as just a stepping stool to get better; so you could imagine his surprise to wake up and find out that he had magically aged up six or seven years.

Apparently with the sudden boost in his age came a bit more maturity and grace that allowed for the normally more flamboyant shinki to transition into a more confident one- well at least more confident then usual. As such, Rei could be spotted around both the Near and Far Shore happily chatting away with whoever was unlucky enough to notice him.]

[ She'd been wandering around the whole day, as was her usual practice when it came to these things. Half to assess the "damage" and half to look for him. Though she would never admit the second bit.

Unfortunately, her attention is on the crowd as she walks. Unpredictably, she bumps into someone. ]

Ah! S... sorry. I didn't mean...

[ A beat, looking up at who exactly she bumped into. Those eyes... ]

....Rei-kun....?

[ doki]

[Despite the sudden jump in age- Rei was still Rei and Hime still invoked his heart to flutter when she manages to catch him off guard, just like she did when she had yet again managed to bump into him.]

Ah! Hime-chan! There you are, I was worried that something had happened to you like it did with Ronald and I.

N... no, nothing's happened to me.

[ Recovering now. Hibiki and Dave... now Rei. But she folds her arms behind her back. ]

While everyone I've seen seems to have grown younger, you're the first case of someone looking much older.

[Rei's smile only grew wider after the suggestion of being a unique case- after all it always feels good to be a bit special.]

Ah~! Maybe it is just fate's way of saying that I am special and considering the fact that I am a shinki it may be a blessing in disguise for me to be a case of aging up instead of growing younger. I hope that my sudden age shift doesn't cause harm in our relationship.

Hey!

[ Hibiki has discovered a cool thing she wants to tell somebody about. Being a stranger doesn't matter, because everybody is her friend. So, here is a person in the world, and that will do.

She holds up a purple tablet. ] Do you want to see something pretty??

[Ah, Hibiki said one of Rei's sure fire things- pretty, beautiful, majestic, steller; any of those were a sure fire way to draw the swimmer turned shinki's attention. Gracing the little one with a smile the suddenly much older Rei knelt down to be at level with the child and eagerly nodded his head.]

Oh yes please~ I love to see something pretty!

[[ con't here ]]

[ Here is your god.

Here is your god looking a little scruffy and beat up with a smudge on his cheek, a tear on his shirt and swelling in the other cheek.

Here is your god rubbing his nose that may have gotten a little bloody before reaching out to tug on your hand. ]

Rei... m'ready to go home now.

[ Here is your god as a nine year old after having run away and gotten into a fistfight. Please take care of him for he is small and in need of bandaging. ]

[Of course, the sight of Ronald covered in blood instantly caused Rei to jerk to attention as he lowered himself to his knees and went to dab at what was left of Ron's earlier bloody nose.]

What in god's good name did you do? You look like a dreadful mess, Ronald.

Got into a bit of a scuffle.

[ There's a wince as his nose gets dabbed. It still smarts... actually a lot of him smarts. Even that new arm of his smarts. ]

Someone looked at me wrong and I socked him in the gob. Wasn't my fault.

[Taking Ron's wince into account Rei dabbed a bit lighter on his god's nose before he tucked the bloody handkerchief into his pants pocket. Clicking his tongue lightly at Ron's reasoning, Rei shook his head and offered his hand to the child god.]

Ronald... You use your words, not your fists to settle your fights. You do know that you are going to have to apologize to the person who you punched. It is the gentlemen thing to do.

Are you daft? M'not going to 'pologize til he does first.

[ Another pout, his cheeks puffing up in protest. ]

B'sides... can't remember how many there were to start.

[ Is he lying or is he serious, who knows? ]

[... Ron please. You are supposed to be the reasonable one, why are you acting like a street urchin? Rei is going to have to raise you better then that.]

I wasn't asking you too Ron-san. As your shinki it is my job to let you know what is the right thing to do and what the wrong thing is. In this situation the best thing to do is to apologize to those that you have hurt.

[Keeping Ron's hand in a firm grasp and refusing to let the boy go, Rei gave the boy a firm squeeze.]

Do you at least remember who you fought with?
