Is it ok if I study it's structure at some point?

[ Elfnein enters the room first, though she's distracted now by wanting to study the temple a bit more now. ]

[declamando]

[With a slight laugh, Maria follows, closing the door behind her.]

If you like. I'm not sure it's not at least a little magical to hold together this well, but you're free to take a closer look.

[As she says that, she starts heading up the spiral stairs.]

Thank you, I'll have to figure out when I can visit again.

[ And bring research supplies with, and maybe even her shinki. ]

You're welcome here anytime, if it helps. I may not always be home, but I can tell Natsuru and Uta you might come.

[As busy as things get here, it's best to be prepared. As they pass the first "floor" of the treehouse, Maria keeps going up, seemingly prepared for the long haul.]

I won't be much of a bother on them.

[ Research is a way to get alone time anyway. ]

I don't think either of them would mind much anyway. Natsuru seems to get on well with anyone, and Uta keeps to herself for the most part.

[The trunk narrows a little as they keep heading up, but the stairs themselves don't, simply coiling a little bit tighter.]

Are you sure it's not too much of a problem for them?

[ She doesn't want anyone to go out of their way to serve her or anything like that. ]

[declamando]

It's fine, I'm sure. Natsuru would probably just wonder what you were doing.

[Given how she and Natsuru had met, Maria figures her shinki wouldn't keep her distance from something like that.]

Maybe I could enlist their help if they take an interest?

[declamando]

Of course. If they were interested, they might even offer to help.

[They're heading past another floor now, though Maria keeps going. One thing she doesn't like about the positioning of her room in this tree is how many stairs she has to walk up to get to it.]

[alchemists]

How far up is your room? It feels like these stairs have been going up for an unusual amount of time.

[declamando]

It's quite far, though we're about halfway up now. The tree already looks quite big from the outside, but walking straight up it like this, it's the equivalent of several stories of a building.

[She smiles back a little sympathetically, because she knows it's not ideal, but at least it's private.]

[alchemists]

Space distortion . [ Another thing for Elfnein to research the next time she visits. ]

Isn't that a lot of steps and distance for you and your shinki?

[declamando]

It's probably not uncommon in temples, though this could just be some kind of optical illusion or depth perception issue, and not actually magic. I've never checked it myself. [The tree is a huge one anyway, but it's an interesting question.]

Mine is the only room that needs going all the way up for, but yes, it can be a bit trying at times. I'm just glad we never had to bring furniture in.

You would never be able to get the furniture up there if that were the case.

[declamando]

It would've been a trial, certainly. I suppose I could probably teleport it up, but that might be a bit inexact. [Getting shopping or similar between shores would be impossible if transportation of inanimate objects couldn't happen, but teleporting doesn't entirely guarantee you'll end up exactly where you're aiming, either.]

[alchemists]

It would take a lot more effort to try and get that correct compared to just bringing them up the stairs.

[declamando]

That's right. It'd probably end up as six of one, half a dozen of the other in the end. [There's a slight laugh as they pass another "floor".] It's not too much further now.

[alchemists]

You said that a few floors ago, I'm finding it hard to believe that it's close now.

[declamando]

[Maria has to laugh a little at that as well.] That's fair, but I actually mean it this time.

[She points upwards to where the stairs narrow further, wide enough to comfortably accomodate people single-file but not quite two side-by-side.] It's just one more loop after this, which is almost nothing considering what we've already walked.
