[Corrin notices as she looks over at Maria. The quick change along with the way she knows Tsubasa's name has Corrin on alert. How does she knows Tsubasa? She doesn't have ill will against Tsubasa does she?

Corrin nods slowly as she gives a little cautious smile.]

Yes, that's her name. May I ask how you know Tsubasa?

[She knows that Tsubasa can handle anything that comes her way. Still, Corrin can't help being ready to defend her.]

[The direct question makes Maria's smile slip a little - now rather than forced, it's a little bit more sad than it is anything else.]

I'm sorry, I should have explained first. Tsubasa was quite a close friend of mine back in our world. [Though Maria likes to keep a confident front, she can't help but look away before she says the next part.] I'm sure you can imagine what it was like encountering her here as a shinki.

[Knowing she died, but not knowing how...it has Maria forever wondering if she could have been there to stop it.]

[Corrin instantly calms down, nearly ready to apologize for her instant reaction. She can't help being protective of someone. Corrin nods as she looks at her hands, that's one of the hardest parts of this new life, meeting someone in your previous life and they don't remember you. It hurts even more that you can't let them know for their safety. It can be rough.]

Yes, it's always quite a shock to meet them again. It does hurt that you can't help them remember, but you can have a chance to get to know them again.

[Corrin gives a reassuring smile over at her.] I do hope that you can build your friendship again. You're welcome to the temple anytime you want.

[There's a sympathetic smile from Maria at the realisation that Corrin has had the same kind of experience. It's always been easier trying to reassure others than reassuring herself.]

I didn't realise you had the same kind of problem. But yes, you can get to know them again...and if they do happen to remember something like some shinki occasionally do, then that's worth hoping for.

[They can't be reminded, but if chance favours them, they might still have something to look forward to. Corrin's offer gets a polite smile nonetheless.]

I appreciate it, though for the moment I'm being a little slow about it so I don't make her suspicious.

I am looking forward to that. I hope they do remember me one day, but I can wait. I would never want to put their lives in danger by trying to speed up the process.

[Corrin nods, giving a polite smile in return.]

No problem you can take your time. The temple will always be open for you whenever you decide to visit. Have you been a god for long?

Exactly. It would be nice for them to remember, but nothing is worth that kind of risk. [And from what Maria has heard, it's a massive risk. Definitely not one she's going to be exposing Tsubasa to - dying once is more than enough.

Maria gives an appreciative smile and nod at Corrin's offer, before turning her attention to the question with a slight hum.]

It'd be about two months now, I think...it doesn't feel like that long thinking back on it, though.

I've been here for about a month now. It does feel like it isn't that long, though being a god is a little new to me. I haven't seen many places here yet or done many things either, however I can't complain. I'm happy to see everyone, my temple is nice, and everything has been going good so far.

[Corrin hums softly as she starts messing with her fingers.]

I'm just hoping that things last for a little longer before something else happens again. Oh, sorry for being a little down like that! I got a little lost in my head there. How have things been going for you?

I was still settling in when a month had passed. I don't think I even got a job until a little into my second month. [There's a slight laugh at that, because it does sound a little absurd now that she thinks back on it.] It was a harsh first month to come in to, though. There'd been a major attack on a town just before I did, so cleanup was still underway, and then we had undead attack a festival, and some very nasty ayakashi not long after...

[Compared to that, it's been fairly quiet recently, and Maria finds herself all the more grateful.]

I hope it stays peaceful a little longer too. But things have been fine with me - the most unfortunate thing I've had happen recently was one of my shinki disappearing a few weeks ago, but that's starting to hurt a bit less now.
