[ Yoon went to sleep last night feeling no different than any other day. If anything, the weirdest feelings he had were the night after he spoke to Zeno about remembering him. But last night? It had been a blessed relief after the strange changes that happened in the days before, which had made Yoon younger.

What he does know is that now he's woken up... somewhere else. This isn't where he fell asleep, at Itzpapalotl's temple, among his many collected belongings. More importantly, that also means he has no idea where Ran is - the man who can't be trusted to walk 15 feet without Yoon panicking he might use his god powers.

So he starts to get....... loud. ]

RAN! Answer me! Ran--

[ As he extends his left hand, he notices a lack of color there. His name, the one that Ran hadn't even remembered giving him but after they talked about it... he started to grow fond of it. 'Baiki' for plum blossom... meaning perseverance and hope in whatever Flower Language Ran knew. Now it's not there at all. ]

What's happening to me?

I'm... Yoon. I don't know why I'm here.

[He's basically staring at the pair of them, half expecting to be kicked out instantly.]

I was at my god's temple...

[In his nervousness, he clutches the hand that used to have his Name on it with his free hand.]

[Lance blinks at Yoon, obviously bewildered. Though... he gently puts a hand on Keith's shoulder to kind of... keep him calm. Okay, this kid isn't gonna hurt us. It's cool, dude.]

Hey Yoon. I'm Lance. And this is Keith.

[Time to make with the nice.]

I dunno why you're here either. Maybe we can figure it out together, huh?

[Keith looks like he's calmed down... probably just a little bit. He's not ready to pounce or anything, but he also doesn't look like he's about to be taking his eyes off of Yoon anytime soon. It's a small improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.]

So, you're a shinki?

[That's actually a little reassuring, weird nonsense happens to shinki often enough to make the scenario of 'just showed up here' a little more plausible.]

[Yoon nods. No 'nice to meet you even in these circumstances' from him.]

Yeah. [He holds up his palm, where the character used to be.] My name was right here just a second ago... I should be at Itsu-pap-lotaru's temple.

[Never did get a proper pronunciation of him.]

Do you... know him? Either of you?

[There's a serious expression on his face that says he's starting to get very worried about his god - Ran. The guy he saved from bleeding out and takes care of his temple and cooks his meals and...]

[Oh. Oh boy. Lance knows exactly what this means. Ugh, this is going to suck, yo.]

Ah... no, I don't think I know him. Um...

[He glances over to Keith. He really doesn't wanna have to explain this to two shinki, but...]

Look, I'm really ... REALLY sorry to have to say this, but I think your god might've disowned you. Or, uh... maybe he's gone. 'Cause if you don't have the name, well, that means you don't belong to him anymore.

[God knowledge sucks yo.]

[... Ah. This situation. Keith looks sympathetic, or at least as sympathetic as he's capable of looking while still finding this situation a little fishy.]

Why'd he show up here, though?

[When his last god disappeared, it's not like Keith had randomly been tossed into some other god's temple. Heck, he belonged to two gods at the time and still didn't wind up at this temple without hoofing it. Is there any sort of rhyme or reason to the way Heaven operates?

[He latches onto 'gone' first, because he has to believe that had Ran wanted him gone, he'd have said it to his face. Perhaps cruelly and with little tact, but to his face and at least then he'd have known.

No, to be sure he was gone... what had some of the other shinki said about the phones...?]

That's...

[He pulls his phone out and eventually tries to look for Ran's contact information to message him directly. Of course, it's gone, but at first Yoon just thinks he's the one messing up looking the information up. He's not as familiar after all.]

No, no - come on! He'll die if he uses his power without someone to treat him... Idiot!

[But as it sinks in that he's not doing anything wrong...]

... Is this what it's like, then... to be assigned a god rather than picking one for myself...

I did what Hakkai told me the first time, I picked someone, so why...

[His brows start to knit in anger.]

[Ah crud. So that's what happened. Lance hasn't been assigned a shinki since his first one, so this is a little unexpected for him. Poor kid, he seems to have really liked his god.

Lance takes a step towards Yoon, leaning forward so he can be more on the other's height level.]

Hey... I'm sure your guy's gonna be just fine. And I'm sorry you had to get stuck with me, but I promise I'll make it as painless for you as I can.

[He gestures back to Keith.]

And Keith's not a bad guy either. Just kinda angry all the time. You'll get used to it.

[Is this really the time, Lance?]

[NO IT'S NOT THE TIME AND HE SHOOTS LANCE A QUICK AND DIRTY LOOK but more importantly, maybe they should try and keep Yoon from totally losing it? He looks really upset...]

Hey, I know what it's like to lose your god suddenly. [He doesn't sound... particularly affected by the thought, but he figures it's a wise idea to make it known that it's not a totally foreign concept among this group.] You guys must have been... close?

[Close? Maybe? This kid obviously has some kind of big emotional stake in this.]

[Yoon laughs wryly and rubs at his cheeks - trying to sound bitter and angry. He'll never admit it, but he did like Ran - as a god if nothing else.]

If you can call two people 'close' for making sure his guts don't fall out of his body every time he uses his god power and watching over his comatose body so he doesn't die of blood loss afterwards.

[The clinical description doesn't bother Yoon because of his medical prowess. It's just something he can throw out there to cover up him being upset.]

I don't mind people getting angry, anyway. I'll just yell back.

[Lance blinks owlishly at Yoon for a moment.

Before he lets out a laugh and reaches out to ruffle the kid's hair.]

Seriously? You're one heck of a shinki, aren't you?

[Oh wait, he's upset. RIGHT. Lance clears his throat.]

W-well, um, if you're okay with staying here, you're more than welcome to. I won't name you unless you want me to either.

[Probably not the best thing to say in front of Keith, but whatever.]

[Keith just makes this exact face at Lance like what the hell

he was about to vouch for you but no you had to be like this

[He's more amused than anything at Keith and Lance's antics. It feels more 'okay' than a quiet temple alone with Ran had, actually.

And Lance had complimented him after all. A balm to his pride is enough to get him smiling.]

It sounds like you need a handsome genius like me around anyway.
