Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.

Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




Divine Bureaucracy

Wasn't it the newly revamped Shinki Agency's job to assign shinki this time... They thought it was the original team of Amaterasu's shinki's job this one last time before Shinki Agency took over the responsibility. Needless to say, when the shinki wake up at the Meeting Hall, there's a lot of shouting. Eventually, one of the Shinki Agency representatives herds the new shinki together and instructs them to please all go to Bishamonten's temple for the time being and they will send a runner with the god-shinki assignments as soon as they can.

New gods and old gods alike will not be notified that there is a mix-up unless they come to Bishamon's temple for Training, until the Shinki Agency can figure out what happened.

Important addendum: For this round, gods still have a vision of how their shinki died, however they can't make out any details, particularly about who they saw die.
Once a shinki of the Agency gives the god the name of their shinki, the god is then able to find them by name. Once they give their shinki a vessel name the god will have the full vision of how their shinki died.

This addition comes in response to some questions and need for clarification. Apologies and thank you for your input.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[ Those that knew Shizuo also knew that he had quite an appetite. He'd rather something more filling, but light snacks would do. While he did show up for training (he even had a pair of Valkyrie-made gauntlets tied off on his belt,) he wasn't exactly dressed for training. Instead he was wearing jeans and a shirt that looked like it was a t-shirt, but the sleeves were cut and folded up into something of an almost sleeveless design, designed for all those people that like rolling up the sleeves, but hated them falling back down.

When getting a drink from the large cooler that was on the ground, he paused before straightening back up. Sometimes Shizuo really did have instincts like an animal. In this case, it was just training as a bartender that had him picking up the smell of alcohol.

Slowly straightening up, he looks around until the bottle of bourbon was spotted. Opening his can of juice with one hand, the blond goes over to stop a few feet away. ]

Look, I'm not gonna tell you what to do with yourself and your own time... But try not to give that to anyone that's underage. Teens and kids don't need liquor.

[deniles]

I'm not going to check identification, if that's required.

[Niles shrugs his shoulders. He's the bad influence of heaven, and he's well aware of that status. Leaning back against the tree, he looked at him up and down.

Ah yes. He did look very good indeed.]

If someone wants a drink, they can pay me for it. It's expensive bourbon.

[bartenderizing]

Just don't give it to kids and obvious teens...

[ There are rules to alcohol, okay?

Why does it feel like he's being sized up? It's weird. ]

Like I said, otherwise I'm not gonna tell you what to do. It's your life and alcohol.

[deniles]

Relax, old man.

[He knows. He's not stupid.]

Oh? That's a shame. I wouldn't mind being told what to do by you.

[He smirks and moves closer.]

[bartenderizing]

... Old man?

[ You are sending way too many signals for his socially awkward mind. He'd move back, but there's that cooler of drinks stopping him. Are you trying to block his way or start something? Because those are the only reasons he can imagine for the approach. ]

You make no sense- Ah.

[ He vaguely remembers now- Niles didn't make much sense then, either. ]

Right. You started being a pain in the ass then, too.

[deniles]

You call it pain in the ass, I call it being honest.

[He chuckles, patting the seat beside him if Shizuo would like to sit down. Or not. Because in the end, Niles doesn't care one way or another.]

You may think it's someone messing with you, but I stick to what I said. You are incredibly handsome.

[bartenderizing]

[ He has no clue of how to comprehend or react to someone that was... Well, like this. Niles was the most forward and forthcoming person that kept going back to how Shizuo looked- which was another thing he couldn't really see.

Which is why he carefully steps around to not be in-between Niles and the drinks cooler, choosing to stay on his feet. Think about it this way, Niles. You get to keep a great view. ]

... Yeah, I'm still pretty sure you are. I just don't get the point of why. Are you really that bored?

There are so many better ways to mess with someone than to tell them that they're handsome. For instance, I could make you look for something that doesn't exist, or I could set you up on a fake date.

[He slowly stands up, brushing himself off as he moves towards him. Sighing as he puts the bourbon on top of the cooler.]

I could give you something that removes all your hair, or I could steal all your clothes and throw them around for you to hunt in the nude.

[He looks right at him.]

Telling you you're handsome? Not exactly how I'd mess with anyone. I'm more likely to tell you that you're ugly if I really wanted to fuck with your head.

[bartenderizing]

[ Those are really weird examples, and require some kind of trust to pull off. For those examples, he'd have to accept something or having taken off his clothes in the first place, or believe that there was a date in the first place. So it made sense to be told nice things to gain that kind of trust.

As he had already moved a little further to the side and back, so he wasn't right at the cooler or anything, Shizuo figured he'd be fine right where he was. ]

Honestly, I'd probably question it less if you said I was ugly. Then again, I don't really think about my looks.

[ Without memories, it sort of spoke to the kind of people he came to expect. Also what it said about someone that obviously spent time on their hair who also didn't think about if they were attractive or not. ]

[The thing is, those aren't exactly things he'd use against this man. Which is why he doesn't completely oppose mentioning them to him. Because it's not like he'd ever try them on him.

Wouldn't be much fun.]

I'm not exactly going to lie about that sort of thing. If you have an issue with that sort of thing, that's really not something I can control.

[He could, you know, not do it, but he's completely unlikely to go that route.]

Either way. I think you're handsome. As I have no interest in doing anything else to you, assume that all I meant by it was you're handsome.

It's not like I know you to know what is and isn't likely.

[ This was one of the first times they had met. Maybe not the absolute first, but Niles was still a stranger to him.

Actually, despite how they interacted the last time, Shizuo wasn't sure how to handle this. It was strange, unusual, and nothing he could have ever expected. So naturally, the blond was uncomfortable and taking a step for the tent exit. If there was any sign of how honest and straightforward he was, though, it's what he said while doing so. ]

Honestly, I don't know how to deal with this kinda thing. The fact that I can't see what you seem to is only gonna make things more awkward. So, uh, I'm gonna go.

[ Because prey should always run away from wolves. Yes. ]

[deniles]

Certainly you can tell by cues that I don't exactly plan to harm you.

[He sighs and shrugs his shoulders. Ah well. He can bring a horse to water, but he can't make him drink, and so on and so forth. Too bad. He is really attractive.]

I told you exactly what. But you choose to ignore it and play with your own paranoia. So fine by me.

[He'll find you again, however.]

I wouldn't call it paranoia.

[ Harm or sincere flirting, Shizuo just doesn't know how to handle it. The only other person that's commented about his appearance, and while itt was someone he was attracted to, the context was how his pretty face could do with a broken nose. Not exactly flirting material ]

Thanks but, uh, like I said. No clue how to handle that.

[ He's also too honest to pretend that he's okay with a personality like Niles. At least it's nice to watch him go, even if it means him leaving.

It's not like he's hard to spot and track. There's only one other tall blond to mix him up with, and there's a good chance that both will lead you to the same location. ]

[deniles]

It is, though. Considering you immediately think someone is going to do something bad for just saying you're handsome.

[And that's really not his problem, so he has no real plans on stopping doing it. Sorry to say. It's who he is.]

Then be on your way.

[He does, however, watch him leave and just enjoy the view. It is, of course, a very nice view to watch.]
