July Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Data collection, huh? I do have a fair amount of data on various gods and shinki here, but information doesn't come cheap, you know. You haven't even introduced yourself yet and you're already asking for my personal details. Don't you know anything about negotiations? [because getting to know your neighbours is a very complicated affair for Add, apparently.]

You're obviously new at this, so I'll let it slide this time. Currently, I'm filling the role of the god Henir. Now, what of yourself?

[Negotiations...Sounds almost exactly like the types of deals in the Netherworld, if it's what he thinks it is. Sadly those generally go awry. Also Emizel is kinda broke.]

I am Emizel, the current stand in for Thanatos. [He's at least trying to be more serious.]

[personal profile] subtract 2017-08-11 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
Thanatos? [That actually does catch his interest a little. It's not every day he runs into a god that exists in his own world.] That would be the death god, correct?

Hmm, but I don't think we're in the same pantheon... strange. [he's mumbling to himself, so that's probably why it doesn't make much sense. Henir and Sult were in the Norse pantheon, so isn't it weird that another god from his world wouldn't be? It's not like his world is just an awkward mishmash of unrelated mythology, right??]

... Anyway, since you gave me your name you can call me Add. If there's anything else you wanted to know, I'll be expecting an equal amount of information in return. Are you just looking for general information on your peers, or is there something more specific you're looking to find?
trademark_skull: (I forgot)

[personal profile] trademark_skull 2017-08-11 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! You heard of him before? [That actually was pretty exciting. He's never met anyone that knew about his god before.]

[But Emizel holds off. At least the negotiations weren't with money after all.]
...Does it need to be the same kind of information? Because I don't think what I know is gonna be useful.

Only in passing. Thanatos is one of Elrios' lesser deities, but religious topics didn't interest me that much before I got here. He's the god that collects the souls of mortals after they've died, supposedly. I'm not sure if his role is any different in this world.

"Usefulness" can be subjective, kekekeke. Hearing about other worlds isn't so bad, either... perhaps you might know something about dimensional travel?

[It's worth a shot. This kid looks unusual so there's gotta be something of interest to say about the place he came from, even if it's not on the topic he's researching.]

[personal profile] trademark_skull 2017-08-13 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Eh well, that doesn't really help much. That's not much different than what all Deaths are meant to do. ...But I thought Thanatos was a Greek god, like Hades.

[But, other world information huh. Well...]

Dimensional travel? Uh... Not quite. That's somethin a gatekeeper or guide would know more about. I dunno how it all works.

[But, that does imply it's real right?]

[personal profile] subtract 2017-08-15 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Is it Greek in this world? Like I said, Thanatos is a god that exists in my homeworld as well. Henir is the same, though some details seem to differ and they're in the Norse pantheon here. Even gods can exist across alternate universes, apparently. [He shrugs.]

Ahh, but it is something you know about? Is dimensional travel something you've experienced personally? Do you know what sort of devices or energy sources are needed for it? If you don't know the specifics that's fine, but even simple details can be quite useful. Ah, and how common is the technology? Is it something many people are familiar with or use, or is it something more obscure or forbidden? What kinds of places would you use it to travel to?

[... he may have forgotten the part about this being an "equal exchange" since he's just rattling off questions endlessly.]
trademark_skull: (Everything's gonna be okay)

[personal profile] trademark_skull 2017-08-16 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Blinks at all of these questions. Why does it interest him so much?? If anything Emizel should be more skeptical about that.] We use it to get to certain levels of the Netherworld, and even to the Human World. So yeah it's pretty common.

...It also can open up worlds inside of items. [That's going to be its own can of worms if he goes any deeper into that.]
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0133)

[personal profile] subtract 2017-08-17 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
The Netherworld? [He pauses, looking over Emizel again. He doesn't seem to have horns or a tail or anything, but...] Hmm, the Demon Realm I'm familiar with also used dimensional gates frequently... ah, if only I'd thought to study them more while I was there. You're a demon, then?

... Worlds inside of items, though. What do you mean by that? [expecting Add not to ask for more details on a confusing subject is a mistake, of course he needs to know more about it now]
trademark_skull: (Divide by zero)

[personal profile] trademark_skull 2017-08-19 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Emizel nods. Definitely 100% full blooded demon.]

We can travel inside items to improve their quality. Make them stronger, make them sturdier, things like that. Sometimes there's other treasures inside, and even more demons.

[And then there's also Chara Worlds...]

[personal profile] subtract 2017-08-22 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
[He nods, bringing a hand up to his face thoughtfully.] A pocket dimension linked a physical object, or perhaps a method to "attach" a pocket dimension to an object regardless of its original purpose... it's not an unfamiliar concept. [Nasods could store objects using dimensional links, so it's kind of the same idea as that right? And if the dimension is stable enough you could store things in it or live there, like the library he got stuck in.

... except the part about making the object better somehow is throwing him off. He tilts his head a bit, frowning.]

But how would something like that change the physical properties of the item...? That doesn't make any sense.
