When: Mid-August
Where: All over the Far Shore and wherever she can find other gods and shinki.
What: Nanako is on A Mission.
A: Photographs and Memories
- [ After talking with Izumo a few days before about his plan to make a wall of memories in his bar of all the gods and shinki who have come and gone, so they'd be remembered, Nanako can be found wandering through the Far Shore and near the temples she comes across, borrowed camera in hand. While she's quicker to approach people she knows with her request, she will often wander up to strangers as well, trying to hide her shyness and nerves behind a hopeful smile. ]
Hi! Can I take your picture?
B: Practice Makes Perfect
- [ Nanako has been very determined of late to get better at her abilities, whatever they may be. So it's not unusual to find her practicing at her temple, or perhaps out somewhere on the Far Shore for a change of scenery. There might be a tiny girl wielding a bow and arrow, taking careful aim at her target as she practices again and again on improving her aim.
Or perhaps it's the light show that's drawn you in, a tiny hovering angel surrounded by a warm glow and occasionally trying to figure out how to direct that light where she wants it to go - with varying degrees of questionable success, though she remains looking determined, even when she fails. ]
C: Safe and Sound
- [ Nanako is crouched beside her shrine, peering underneath the planks of wood that make the walk that surrounds it, looking distressed. And apparently pleading with someone - something? - hidden in the deep shadows underneath. ]
You can come out now, I promise, the scary storm is gone. Don't be afraid! I won't let anything hurt you.
[ Or perhaps you've stopped by on a sunny afternoon to find her sprawled on her stomach on the dock that stretches out over the lake, bowl of crumbled bread crusts beside her as she feeds the fat lazy fish circling beneath her. Watch out for the pelicans, though. They sometimes like to swoop at unexpected visitors. ]
A
Iiiii heard something about taking pictures?
[Yes, hello, you have his attention, small child.]
no subject
He.... did he remember her or not? What could she say? ]
Ahhh.... yes? That was me!
no subject
[He mistakes the flash of recognition and confusion for a child's awkwardness and smiles to show he's friendly, coming out from the door with his hands resting easily on his belt before he crouches instead to get closer to her eye level.]
My name's Prompto. What sort of pictures are you taking? Maybe I can help!
no subject
I'm Nanako! It's nice to meet you. [ Again. ]
And I'm helping a friend. He wants to put together a wall of pictures of all the gods and shinki who came here from other places. Sometimes people leave again and he wants a place to keep memories for people.

That sounds really sweet. What a good idea! And photos are totally the way to go. [Nod!] Nothing captures everything about a moment quite like a camera, especially when you're not sure if or when you'll see someone again.
[There are definitely way too many people here to draw. What else could they do, make a video diary? Nah.]
So you're helping him by doing all the legwork, huh?

no subject
Well, how are you doing so far? Mind if I take a look?
no subject
[ And apparently some people here just really like their pictures taken? Idols, man. ]
no subject
Niiiiice! Very nice. Ooh, I like that one.
[He pauses after a few and looks up at her.]
You mostly ask people to stop and smile, right? You try taking any candids yet?
no subject
What's a can-did?
no subject
[He hands her camera back to her and takes out his phone, scrolling through his own photos for an example.]
Some people don't like getting caught off guard like that, but you can get some nice pictures that way. See?
[He shows Nanako a picture of Lucina bending to offer her fingers to a cat, expression soft in the light of early morning.]
no subject
Their natural expression. I see! So it looks more like what they'd normally look like instead of them just posing with a smile, right?
no subject
[He gives her a serious, approving nod.]
Don't get me wrong, smiles are great and we should get to see more of them. But it's nice to mix it up, too.

[He thinks about it, then taps the camera in her hands with a finger.]
Hey. Anyone take a shot of you yet, Nana?
no subject
no subject
Why don't we take one together? That'll be more fun than either of us being alone in the shot, right?
no subject
Can we?
no subject
[He scoots in so they're close enough for the perfect selfie and holds out a hand.]
no subject
Like this?
no subject
[He adjusts the camera with practiced ease.]
Say... fuzzy pickles!
[Click!]
no subject
[ Nanako bursts out in giggles at this statement, just as Prompto takes the picture, and she's still laughing when he finishes. ]
Pickles aren't fuzzy!
no subject
[But because she was laughing, this picture is perfect. He beams widely as he shows her the result.]
And now everyone can see how much fun we were having today.

You made friends with Prompto! Prompto will now DIE FOR YOU.]
Aww, you're welcome, Nana! Anytime.
