Who: Nari + You
When: August 27 and a little into the wee hours of the 28th
Where: Neptune's Temple
What: As he said on the network, he's got the goings of a picnic out. Anyone is welcome to show up since he's not too picky about who comes and goes on his grounds.
[Morning to Early evening on the 27th]
[The temple isn't decorated or anything, but anyone who visits will see a few balloons that are tied to a few trees that lead to a beach. It's not a sandy warm beach, being more reminiscent of a beach in the Pacific Northwest, so there will be camping chairs that can be taken to sit on. It's a bit breezy, not uncomfortable, and since it's near the park in the Northwest district of the Far Shore, there's all sorts of spirit animals running around.
There's a event tent nearby with tables that of course have the food sitting on it, and of course more can be made/brought. There's a small sign that simply says "Take what you want, but please be considerate and remember that others would like to eat as well. No littering!". If anyone wants to cook on site, a camping stove can be provided. Just ask the soulless shinki with the sign that reads "Hi my name is Mark" around its neck.]
[Later evening on into the 28th]
[Anyone who sticks around as the dark falls will be treated to the sight of Nari setting small bonfires along the beach. The wind has picked up a bit so hanging around the warm flames might help bring some relief to how frigid the nights can be along a beach like this even in summer.
The fare has been changed to simple snacks, ice cream (how isn't it melting?) and what looks like ingredients for s'mores. If you don't know what those are, there are small placards that explain and show how to make them (in English). Feel free to stick around as long as you'd like, just don't fall asleep on the beach. It's not recommended.]
[OOC: feel free to treat this like a mingle. Of note to the grounds: There are "NO FISHING" signs posted about, any damages done to the property will be treated with hostility, and the paddock to the stables is locked so no one can harass the horse. ALCOHOL IS NOT PROVIDED SO IT'S A BYOB POLICY. Want something specific? Hit up this journal or

Do you look like you're having fun? Snap, moment preserved. Did something hilarious just happen? Snap, you're not living that one down. Admiring the beautiful scenery? Snap, looks like someone else is, too.
As the day winds down and edges into evening, Prompto shuffles closer to the fire, wind tugging at his hair as he watches the horizon with faint unease.]
I should probably head home...
no subject
... Is that picture going to come out?
no subject
Well, wanna see? I kinda liked the composition on that one.
[He hops over to let Hakkai see the photo on gallery view. There is a sort of Renaissance painting sense of drama to the event. That poor marshmallow, though.]
no subject
... Well, unfortunately, it did come out quite well. He can't help but laugh.]
It's not bad. Toasting things over open flame is more challenging than I'd hoped....
[And this is why, generally, one lets a fire burn down to coals before cooking. He sighs.]
no subject
[Not that Prompto really knows why he should know that, but there's something comforting and nostalgic about the crackling flame, even with the encroaching night.]
no subject
[He smiles cheerfully at the other man.]
Are there any tricks you can suggest?

[He chuckles, and picks a few lingering bits of blackened, sticky sugar off his stick before threading a new marshmallow on. He gestures to the marshmallow bag.]
Feel free to join me if you'd like one?
no subject
[He puts his camera away to free up both hands for the endeavor, humming to himself as he skewers his own marshmallow.]
Oh--I never introduced myself, did I? Prompto Argentum. [He nods, hands full.] Shinki for Lucina.
no subject
[He ducks his head in a seated approximation of a polite bow, and considers the fire like a tactician making a plan of attack before extending his marshmallow towards the bottom edge of it, away from the flames.]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Prompto. May I ask -- are you new here?
no subject
[He plunks himself down next to Hakkai once he's got all his materials prepped and holds his marshmallow towards the heat, turning the stick in his hand so it cooks evenly.]
no subject
... I was here before as a shinki, myself.
no subject
[Prompto watches Hakkai rather than his marshmallow.]
Nari told me he was, too. A shinki, before now, even if he didn't really remember. You too?

Or you can tell Lucy you're staying the night. I got the room if you don't like being out at night.

It's not that I'm afraid of the dark or anything.
[He's afraid of lots of things, he's discovered--cramped spaces, social gaffes, spiders. But the dark doesn't fill him with terror so much as tension and unease. Like he's got to be on guard.]
I just feel like... something could happen. You know? So I usually try to get back before dark.
no subject
[These two couldn't be more opposite.]
But if you need help getting home fast, gods are capable of teleportation. You'd just have to hang on.
no subject
[There's something about that description--things you can't see trying to kill you in the dark, noises you can't identify, that makes Prompto so profoundly uncomfortable maybe Lucina, the only one in the world right now who'd know why he's nervous, can feel it.]
no subject
[The scariest monsters of them all.]

[And succeeded in the end!]
