They Say Marriages Are Made In Heaven [closed]

Who: Killua & Sonic
What: Meeting a new god yay!
When: Backdated to April 21st.
Where: Hermes' temple
Warnings: Killua is a snot??

Killua can't really say that he's glad to be here.

It's been a little while since Gon just up and vanished and he and Alluka were split up, but he's still very bitter about it in his own way. Finding himself suddenly with a new god isn't making things any better. And it's even worse because Alluka still isn't with him. He doesn't like being separated from his little sister like this, and it's putting him on edge.

That's why he's quick to ignore any solid formalities when he runs into Sonic for the first time in the hallway, walking out of his new bedroom. He raises a hand in greeting, looking pretty bored despite his dislike of this new arrangement.

"Yo. I'm Killua. Who're you?"

Yep. That's... sure a way to greet your god. Whatever.
mybadhabit: (Oh! Even if we're discovered)

...Well.

That's Ekko's bedroom, but that sure isn't Ekko walking out of it. There's a jolt in Sonic's stomach that he chooses to ignore while he stares blankly at the teenager, then moves past him to check the room for his shinki. He's probably just one of Ekko's friends, in which case, he can be dealt with later.

But Ekko isn't in his room, which only increases the weird, twisting feeling in Sonic's stomach.

He's probably just in the kitchen getting a snack. That must be it. Sonic heads back downstairs to check, very pointedly ignoring Killua on his way past. "Ekko?"
mybadhabit: (Vintage wine)

"My problem is that finding my shinki rates slightly higher on my list of priorities than dealing with some random brat in my temple," Sonic snaps, giving Killua only a cursory glance as he moves past him. Ekko's not in the kitchen, so maybe he's in the study practicing his kanji? He can't sense him, but if he was being honest with himself, he hadn't felt Ekko's presence for a few days.

He didn't want to be honest with himself. He wanted to keep writing it off as a matter of distance, and not that Ekko had disappeared while he'd taken off to train.

But he wasn't in the study either, and the kid claimed to not know him...

Taking a deep breath, Sonic steeled himself for the worst, squaring his shoulders, putting his hands on his hips, and spinning around to face Killua, leaning down slightly to give off the impression of height and dominance. "If you're not one of Ekko's friends, then what are you doing here?"
mybadhabit: (I bet you didn't know that)

"I didn't know he wasn't home, I just arrived myself," he huffs, rolling his eyes. But he gets out his phone and brings up Ekko's number, because it's a reasonable suggestion. Irritated as he was, he would kick himself if he didn't explore every option to find Ekko.

His stomach drops when a tinny voice on the line tells him the number has been disconnected. Clenching his jaw, he inhales deeply through his nose, holds it, then snaps the phone shut and tucks it away. If that wasn't confirmation that he wouldn't be finding Ekko, he didn't know what was.

He'd deal with it later. Right now, he needed to focus on the problem in front of him.

"Killua, you said?" Another white haired teenager with a smart mouth. Just what he needed in his life. "I'm Hermes. Unfortunately for you, it's not my job to be all-knowing. It's my duty to watch over travelers and deliver messages. So, since I'm not a mind-reader, before I claim you, would you be so kind as to tell me as much about yourself as you can? I would hate to give you a name that's not befitting."
mybadhabit: (It MUST be mine)

Sonic shrugs, cocking his hips to the side and flicking his wrists dismissively. "I can give you prompts if you're really having a hard time, but I really feel it's in your best interest if you tell me a little about yourself. I can't give you an appropriate name if I don't know anything about you, after all. So if you don't, I'll just have to give you a name based off the first thing that pops into my head."

"Like Gaki." He leans down, one hand on his hip, pointing to Killua's face. "Brat."
mybadhabit: (I chose to survive)

Why do the Heaven's keep giving him these bratty teenagers? Is it some kind of passive aggressive commentary on his own behavior? He obviously supposed to be the mature one in this situation, but damn if Killua isn't making it hard on him.

"You know your name, you know your interests, and you know your fighting capabilities," Sonic sighs, fighting back the urge to just go ahead and name Killua "gaki." It seems to be a fairly accurate descriptor, if nothing else. "That's the sort of information I am looking for. Do you like to fight? Do you know how to use a weapon? Do you have a favorite animal? Surely you can answer at least that much."
mybadhabit: (Yes I'm gonna win)

"I said I would, you're the one who blew me off," he huffs, cocking his hips to the side and pinching the bridge of his nose. He's the adult, he reminded himself, taking his frustration out on a child was not the mature thing to do. He could handle this, it's not like Ekko was any more respectful.

One of the best fighters, though, that gets a snort out of Sonic. "It's nice to see that you have confidence, but you're still too young to count yourself among the best. Maybe among your peers, you may hold that title, but many of us adults have been training and fighting for longer than you've been alive."

"I have a pig." Sonic waves at Killua to follow and moves towards the living area, where Inoshishi no Ino is fast asleep in a dog bed.

"His name is Inoshishi no Ino, and he's worn himself out while he was training with me," he says with a fond smile, crouching down to give Ino's side a little pat. "He may not be as cute as a cat, but I presume you will still treat him kindly?"
