010 | Relief and Rescue
Who: Everyone!
What: Cleanup and moral support
When: All day May 16
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.
The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.
On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:
'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.
☼ Amaterasu ☼'
And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care
There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.
Food
A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~
Literal Cleaning
And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.
Banquet
After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

[Joseph didn't want to throw his back out doing too much charity work and hard labor, but the sight of hurting people just doesn't sit right with him. It might come as a surprise to the people he knows, but he's sticking around running some of the heavier supplies like boxes of alcohol, towels, boxes of boxes of bandages, etcetera.
He's dropped off another load for someone seeing a patient with some serious road rash, and some other, likely internal injuries. Must have been hit by a car in the mess that happened with the demon.
Instead of just waiting for the doctor or whoever else was planning to assist, Joseph touches the man with gloved hands wherever he's injured, his hands glowing a soft yellow and sparking.]
Cleaning
[Fixing things is not his forte. Neither is cleaning! In fact, most manual labor is not his forte.
But he's here, sweating, and willing to complain to the next person who looks like they see him, despite choosing to do this of his own, stupid accord.
He can finally see the floor of the house he's been cleaning out though, so that's progress. There are a few visitors buzzing around the area that start to get on his nerves though. Happy, cheerful puffs of light.]
Who do you think you're laughing at, powder puff?
[He huffs, wiping sweat from his forehead. Why do gods have to sweat?!]
Banquet
[Now THIS is more like it, maybe all that heavy lifting and whining was worth it if the Heavens are gonna feed him.
His plate is piled high and if you look at the 6'4" musclehead, you can tell why. He didn't get this beefy on leafy greens alone. There's wine in his glass and already in his system.
And those darn little balls of fluff are hanging around giggling.
Anyway, this much nice food has been such a rarity for him, and he's going to marvel at it before becoming a garbage disposal.]

Care
Don't worry, everything will be okay. I promise. You're safe now.
[If the words themselves don't do it, then a kind smile at the girl might do the trick. Her gaze pans over to Joseph once she's done and— holy shit. Her eyes snap open, surprise displayed freely across her face as she watches his hands glow yellow.]
Oh, my...!
[She'd be more shocked if this were months ago, but after being healed by both Hakkai and Freyja during the times she's sustained injuries, it's admittedly not that shocking anymore. Still, she keeps her eyes riveted on Joseph as he heals the other person.]
no subject
His healing ability isn't the greatest of those with this kind of power, but the patient's cuts, scratches, burns, do heal and close up rather nicely with some effort. There's a science to it, boosting the other man's own healing factor, but those are extraneous details.
His broken bones will still need time to set, but much less.
Hearing the surprise beside him slides his attention over to Sheryl, who gets a barely contained smile out of him.]
Something catch your eye?
no subject
Sheryl's smile is just as barely contained as Joseph's, and she points at his hands, a mixture of curiosity and wonder in her glimpse.]
Those. [In a matter of fact tone:] I saw what you did to that guy.
[A part of her wishes that her own song magic includes the ability to heal wounds, broken bones, and other kinds of ailments. The other part, however, tops its half and silences it. She reminds herself that she can still do many things.]
no subject
But, for now, seems he's been seen doing a little doctoring. Caught in the act.]
Oh, that little thing? [He wiggles his fingers.] It comes in handy, especially when half a town turns up on gurneys.
[It's no exploding cactus, but healing is fine too.]

cleaning
[Seems like that remark caught the attention of a passing...person. A neon orange person with wings, feathered hands and ruff, and what appears to be a ghostly tail. Hovering upside-down for a moment or two, he holds his shades in place with one carefully-positioned talon.]
Can't say bad work's been done here, though, pretty sure this house was six feet under its own self last time I saw it.
no subject
So give him a second, because after glancing over in the direction of the sassmachine, he makes the daring impression of a wide toilet bowl with googly eyes.
Ok, shock over.]
Psh, cleaning a place like this is a piece of cake. Maybe when they rebuild, they'll raise the ceilings while they're at it.
[For the other tall dudes like him. Like, all three.]
Do you have bird feet for hands?!
[The important questions.]
no subject
It is a little hard to see his hands around all the feathers at times, and in lieu of an answer, Davesprite first raises both his hands and spreads the fingers. They're human in shape, but the rough skin and clawed tips are clearly reminiscent of talons.]
Missed it by that much: I have human hands that someone decided bird feet would be a good look on. [On the topic of raising the ceilings, though, Davesprite looks up briefly, then drops his hands and stretches himself up on his ghostlike tail until his head bumps a remnant of the ceiling.]
Yeah, probably could stand to raise that point with the rebuilders. All however many dozen or hundred of them who might end up working on this place.
no subject
Oohhh, well that makes all the difference. You've got thumbs!
[He seems nonthreatening to Joseph, so shooting the breeze should be alright. It's break time anyway.]
I'll leave the rebuilders a note, but I won't get my hopes up too high. [Haha. High. Joseph leans against a sturdy looking wall, resting from all that hard work.] You probably get a lot of weird questions, huh?

Cleaning
I believe they're either laughing at you... or laughing from the joy of seeing someone hard at work.
no subject
[Realizing they were more than likely sprites of some kind or another doesn't make their laughter any less... not grating, but more unexpected?
This place had all sorts to offer.]
Either way, that makes them sadists.
[It lacks the 'oomf' of a real accusation, but he still points a finger at one of the ones he catches laughing next.]
Are they normal around here??
no subject
[ At that, she looks up to offer a finger to one of the passing sprites. It dances around the digit, seemingly enjoying itself before flitting off between the two of them. ]
I'm not certain if they're normal. This is the first time I've ever seen them myself but then... I haven't been here very long myself.
no subject
All the good happening could be the cause, I suppose. I'll lay off them for now.
[Appreciative of hard work, sadist, maybe it's time he starts to separate the two anyway.]
I'm...new, too. [He's not really sure here, actually. All of his memories from his previous game are there, and suggest that this could all be a faked unreality bubble, but for the sake of optimism, he puts that out of his mind.] Never expected someone would tell me I'm divine, though, you know?

[He totally has been helping properly and everything! Though...manual labor really doesn't seem to be his thing...]
Um, I wasn't laughing but...are you going to move this? [He points to a busted sofa.]
no subject
[Oops, looks like another fellow joined him in clearing out this house, and he caught the light insult aimed at the spirits.]
No no, not you, you don't even resemble a powder puff.
[Nice hair, though.
Manual labor is the worst all the way around, everyone can agree.
That's why Joseph looks at the sofa he's been reminded of with a sidelong glance, like the damn thing stole his daughter, like it kicks puppies, or perhaps contains a deadly virus.]
...you know, it's a nice sofa, maybe it can stay.
no subject
[Poor sofa, though. He can almost see it wilting under that glare.] Ah, are you sure? Might be a pain to clean under it later...
[Not that he's suggesting they do that, but as long as they're here, the owner of the house might want them to. It's probably really dusty, at least. But—]
But if you insist. By the way, who were you talking to?

Either way, Joseph can enjoy the closest thing to a compliment from Jakob. ]
no subject
[Joseph adds, thankful the guy in question is out cold for the time being. He doesn't even know Jakob, but he sounds like a reasonably trustworthy guy.
He might also be eyeing that staff, just a little.]

Nothing appears to be in disarray. That is the most I can really expect, I suppose.

She's waving two orange lights in her hand towards her, the common aircraft marshaling symbol for "move ahead". The plane also drags a cargo lift behind it, one that is piled high with food. Thankfully when she does bump into him, she turns around and makes for the emergency stop symbol above her head. ] Oh--!
Excuse me. [ She laughs lightly. ] This place is crowded, is it not? I am only trying to find a place to sit down and eat.
[ Yep, she's going to eat all of that. ]
no subject
Holy--
[He bites off the end of that expletive when he notices: a) the airplane, and b) all the food she's carrying as cargo.]
You can sit next to me, just be careful and don't crash!
...but that plane! Can I see it up close? Later, I mean.
[Since they both seem hungry. And. It's not that he... thinks it's really cool or anything.]
no subject
[ Especially if he's nice enough to let her sit next to him!! ] Although, finding a space enough that would sit a plane will be difficult... [ But oh, look, there are two seats right at the end of one of the tables! ] Over there, perhaps?

What is that power you're using?
no subject
It's called Hamon, gives a good boost to the human body's natural healing, or at least that's how my teacher explained it. What about your blue light there?
[What if they crossed the streams? How would the two interact? For some dumb reason, these are Joseph's immediate internal questions.]
no subject
It’s magic. But I don’t remember how it works. [All he knew for sure was that he had the mana to spare for this. Being a shinki definitely had its drawbacks. Then again, considering this was Ross and all, it wasn’t beyond him to say that just to be a pain.]
