Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.

The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.

On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:

'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.

☼ Amaterasu ☼'

And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care

There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.

Food

A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~

Literal Cleaning

And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.

Banquet

After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

[Kensei grumbles, moving to sit down across from the man, with his own spirits following behind him. Although why they're following this gruff older man is beyond him. After all, he's not exactly the nicest person.]

They'll just keep following you.

[Grumbling as he eats up some of the food.]

[Akihiko looks up in response, raising both eyebrows and letting the spirit hover nearby in wait, momentarily forgotten.]

I take it that's a bad thing?

[This guy doesn't seem too happy about it, at any rate.]

It's an annoying thing.

[He grumbles as one comes close to his arm, which he quickly brushes away.]

You wanna be plagued by them all day?

They seem harmless, but--

[For some reason that he just can't put his finger on, the idea of being followed relentlessly fills him with a sense of dread. ~~Fairies would still be a step up from fangirls.~~]

No, guess I'd rather not.

[He frowns as he reaches for his fork and spears something from his plate onto the end of it, the spirit to his left making a disappointed little noise as he looks away.]

Seems like you know the ropes.

You want to encourage them, be my guest.

[He grumbles, as he continues to ignore the spirits. However, they don't seem to be leaving him alone at all, as another few come over to him.]

Barely. Just enough to know not to deal with this bullshit.

Looks like some of them have taken a liking to you.

[Poor guy, if they're as annoying as he says.]

I'm still-- collecting information. [A very delicate way of saying he has no idea what's going on, by and large.] It's been an interesting day.

They have.

[And he's doing his damnest to ignore them.]

What else do you need to know? [Yes, he knows you know next to nothing. But at least he can explain the bits he's actually allowed to without causing another disaster.]

Just seems like there's a lot that's not being said. Maybe things people can't tell us?

[He'd gotten the feeling that Souji knew more than he let on, but he'd left it at that.]

What happened to our memories, for instance? I know my name, but-- not much else.

[Indeed there is. And he knows this. But he can't say anything. Not wanting to risk a problem.]

I don't know about that. [Said straight to the point.]

You're not the only one like that, though.

Kind of got that impression.

[People here seemed to be divided strictly into two groups.]

Is it like that for you, too?

Hm? No. Not at all.

[He looks towards Akihiko.]

I'm a god. You're a Shinki.

[He frowns. He's talked to a few gods throughout the course of his first day here-- more gods than Shinki, in fact.]

How the hell do they decide who gets to be what?

How the hell should I know?

[He shakes his head, grumbling.]

Luck of the draw.

Guess no matter what the answer was, there was no way it was gonna seem fair.

[He's pretty sure that nobody deserves having their memories stripped away, and no one should have to be beholden to someone else against their will.]

Not exactly how I pictured the afterlife. ... I think.

[Hard to say, with no memories, but he's pretty sure this whole thing feels off to him.]

If life isn't fair, the afterlife sure isn't either.

[He knows that far too well. And he's not exactly one for sympathy.]

What did you expect? More clouds?

[Because fat chance of that.]

[He lets out a brief snort of laughter. Probably accurate, but--]

Can't even remember what I expected.

[That's the most frustrating part of all this.]

Makes sense.

[As a shinki, of course, how could he remember anything.]

Then accept this as your new image of the afterlife. Happens often enough anyways.

[He exhales slowly, grimacing.]

Guess that's all I can do.

Not much else, right?

[He grumbles, shaking his head.]
