This really shouldn't be possible, and yet. He's willing to swear (loudly and prolifically) that the forest right there, off to the east? That forest wasn't there a minute ago. That was a hill, a minute ago. And back the way he came, where that picturesque little creek is? He didn't cross that creek. It was a forest when he was there, and he skirted faaar around the damn thing. There's something not right about that little grove of dark trees, and he's in no rush to find out what that wrongness entails.
