[Back from the Forest of Doom, which she'd wandered into with Sora, she's starting to both get more confident in what she can do as a shinki and more aware of the danger that the world around her poses. This hasn't diminished the light in her heart, but tempered it into a willingness to become the kind of person that neither Roxas nor Sora worries about if she wants to go wherever she pleases.]

[Kairi is mostly available to wave at anyone she doesn't know and chat up casually, just from walking around the grounds with the two ghost dogs. She'll be practicing Borderlines on her own as well as some very simple swordsmanship positions that Sora's shown her.]

[Kairi has become an avid texter and phone converser, so if you're someone she's had previous contact with, you can handwave a brief conversation that she initiated and concluded with directions to the temple to find her.]

[Senri spends most of his time outside on the grounds of the temple. When he sees Kairi he makes a beeline straight for her. It's obviously that he has some very important business with her today.

Except of course he doesn't. No, he's excited because he's finished making her a little something. As usual, he says nothing as he steps up to her. Instead, he takes the small star shaped hair clip that he carved for her and gently clips it to her hair. Satisfied, he finally speaks.]

....cute.

[There's a 'hello' and 'this is for you' implied in there surely.]

Oh, Senri, hi--

[And there he is, in her personal space again. She's glad he's so gentle because it's still awkward for her right now, but it's getting better. If it's Senri, he won't hurt her; she believes that. So if he gets that close, it's for a good reason.

Then she realizes he clipped something to her hair. She reaches up to touch it, noticing it's a star.]

Oh wow, it's beautiful.

[She can't see it but that doesn't matter. It's beautiful to her and she's going to wear it every day now, she decides.]

[He smiles. Senri is glad she likes it. He'll have to make her more things. A lot more. ~~What is moderation?~~

What would go well with a star? The moon maybe? He also has a lot of tiny carved animals. Maybe she'd like one of those? He reaches into his little pouch and pulls out two. One a squirrel, and the other a deer. Does she want one?]

Did you carve those, Senri?

[She leans down only slightly to look at them since him holding them at normal waist-height is about her shoulder level.]

The deer is really pretty - like an Artemis symbol. Funny that you carved a squirrel when Roxas and I had to get rid of a squirrel ayakashi not too long ago. Did he tell you about that?

[Senri nods. He carves a lot of things. It keeps him busy.

But then he looks down at the squirrel curiously, as if it somehow had a connection to the ayakashi she's talking about. He shakes his head. Roxas hadn't mentioned it.]

[She decides she's going to have to make some more guesses about his intentions. He likely wouldn't have shown her these without some purpose.]

Am I allowed to have one?

[She starts pulling the deer away.]

[A moment of surprise, followed by a nod. Of course she can. She can have them both if she wants.

But he'd understand if she didn't like squirrels because of that ayakashi.]

[She notices his confusion and tries to interpret.]

It's not that I don't like them both!

[She picks up the squirrel just to demonstrate.]

I thought you'd want to give a different one to someone else? Don't you make things for other people here? ... Raichi, Roxas? Maybe Sora or Brandon?

[He already has made things for some of those people, so he nods.]

Roxas... and Raichi.

[He hasn't made anything for Sora yet. Although he does know Sora is a very important person because Roxas talks about him a lot. Maybe he should make something for Sora. He doesn't know any Brandon....

But either way...]

I can make more...

[As many as he likes, really. But more importantly Kairi should take a picture or something because that is the most words he's strung together in weeks.]

[She smiles brightly at all of those words! It's a nice memory she's going to cherish. He has a nice voice after all.]

Well I suppose they're the most important ones, after all.

[So maybe names get him to talk more? Who knows.]

How long does it take you to make them?

[She kind of wants to watch him work away at them.]

[Yes. He agrees. They are the most important. Roxas especially.

He considers her next question for a moment before answering.]

It's different....

[More complex shapes take longer than simple ones. The true key to getting Senri to use words is to ask questions he can't answer with gestures.]

[She nods.]

That makes sense. I'll take these back to my room right now, okay? That way they don't get broken or nicked.

[Because she really does treasure handmade gifts like these.]

[He nods, and pats her head again before she goes. He likes Kairi. He'll be happy to show her how he makes them.
