Who: Roxas & you
Where: Far Shore, underwater & Near Shore
When: June 3rd
What: Cheer-up fairies are annoying, getting stuck underwater to drown isn't fun, but hey there's fireworks
Warnings: Drowning, possible mentions of death other than drowning

A

[After a tense day or so Roxas needs to get out of the house. The plan was to take a walk around, maybe see if he can run into anyone he knows. Company that wasn't two ghost dogs or his shinki was the cure for what ails, right? The day was warm and the inevitable heatwaves of late-June would be here in a few short weeks. Summer always felt short no matter what you did. Tempers are even shorter when the heat starts climbing.]

Stop following me! [Passerby's will see this blond batting at some of those little fairy creatures from the cleanup. They seem insistent on sticking around him, and he's having none of it.] Go away! I'm fine.

[They only wanna cheer you up...]

[Once the business with the fairies is over... Nothing is better than the sea. It was warm on the beach, the smell of the salt in the air refreshing, and Roxas feels a lot less irritated about being harassed by spirits. Walking along the shore he spots a shadow under the water. It was moving about in such a way that he feels compelled to step into the water to see what it was. It certainly moved like a fish... He reaches for it and that's when his world goes from bright, warm, sunny day to the cold, dark depths of water.

At first he can't register what's going on. It's not until the all too familiar need to breathe hits him and the struggling begins. Roxas had been almost drowned before by a kappa, but this felt different. Why was it taking so long to pass out? Shouldn't he have done so already? Wait... how long has he been down here? Nothing makes any sense as he tries desperately to get away to get back to the surface.

Unless someone saw him get pulled in, this might just be the most drawn out drowning in the world.]

C

[Too irritated by the near drowning, Roxas can't get himself to go home. All of this mess today just adds on to the already awful few days he's had. The promise of fireworks was like a beacon. He heads to a place where he knows it'll be relatively quiet, but still has a good view of the city: a rooftop. Despite being damp and feeling that slow chill in the air after a hot day, he feels rather relaxed by the time he's gotten everything he wants for this summertime viewing activity. The forethought of getting something to eat and drink saves him from having to return home too soon.

Roxas settles down for the show once everything is set. He wouldn't mind company as long as too many questions weren't asked.]
