There were certainly a lot of broken hearts and emotional roller coasters recently, so the Heavens have decided it's time to allow their people to let loose and have some fun for a little while. Through some magic - or possibly just a lot of money - they have managed to rent out an entire private beach for the event so that they won't be interrupted by any Near Shore residents. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, the ocean goes for as far as the eye can see, and rocky outcroppings offer a handy place to dive into the water on a test of courage.

It's a beautiful summer day, perfect for swimming and cracking watermelons and playing some beach volleyball. There's even some soft music permeating the air so that nothing is every silent on this fun-filled day.

New arrivals, after having been met at the Meeting Hall, would have been immediately redirected to this party. After all, they should be enjoying themselves as well.



Swimwear

Anyone who doesn't have swimwear will be provided with swimwear to fit their needs. Unfortunately, the Heavens don't have access to a lot of swimwear, so you'll likely wind up with something ugly, something old, or something just plain weird.

Playful Fish

The sea critters are excited about the party too. They're happy to swim up to anyone in the water and will even come up to the shallows to take a look at the fun happening on the shore. Toe nibbling and brushes of scales are in your future, so you'd better get used to the idea if you plan on being in the water.

Barbecue

Some basics have been provided, but everyone has been asked to bring a little something to the barbecue as well if they can. So you're more than welcome to grab one of the many grills and start frying things up. Heck, there are even fishing poles available if you feel like hauling in a few of those friendly fish to grill. Additionally, summery drinks have been provided, including iced tea, lemonade, water, and horribly fruity cocktails.

After Dark

Just because the sun is down doesn't mean that the party's stopping! The barbecue will continue well into the night, lit now by the stars and a huge, roaring bonfire. The bonfire is maintained by Amaterasu's shinki and climbs higher than any bonfire has the right to. Also, there are floating lights in the water so that people can continue swimming now that it's dark. And if you happen to get too drunk to go home, don't worry. A white-clad shinki will be happy to put you back to bed at the end of the night. Additionally, some sparklers and small bottle rockets have been provided for your entertainment.

[Lara you are a twig. A beautiful twig and Sanji will claim to love you and your twigginess with every inch of his soul, but still a twig. Besides, that's hardly the point in Sanji's mind. He leans forward with honest enthusiasm]

Oi, but just imagine people turning invisible! Or flying! Or controlling fire!

Absolutely. Like something out of a comic. I mean, we all were given some gift, I'm told. Mine's...not that flashy, but I've seen some people with truly extraordinary talents. There's one I met who can make a sword out of thin air. That was impressive.

Oh? You got a power?

[A month in and there's still some details he's shaky about. It comes with having a god Sanji refuses to reconcile with.

Ah well, at least he can kick things.]

It's...something at least. I think it's fitting, and useful.

[Laughing softly, she flexes her not inconsiderable biceps.]

Basically? If I see someone do something, I can copy what they've done. It doesn't matter what, so long as it's something a human can do. I...may have spent the last few nights watching old Wuxia films. Just to see how far I can go.

Heeeeeeh... that's really damn useful!

[He means it, and already his mind races with the possibilities] So if you watched me fight, you might be able to pull off some of the same moves?

Oh, absolutely.

[She grins at him.]

I've already been watching recordings of the Olympics, the martial arts competitions. I haven't ever set foot in a judo dojo and I'm positive I could fight like some of them. With experience and a bigger library...who knows what I could do.

[Someone find her the Avengers, stat.]

In that case, I should check them out myself.

Might be nice to do more than just kick shit all the time.

You should. Bishamon seems quite nice, and learning more about fighting is probably wise.

[Especially since you...y'know...don't remember.]

[Probably proving Lara's point with his blank expression, eyes uncomprehending]

Is that martial arts, too?

No no, she's one of the local gods. From this world. The God of War.

[Honestly Sanji, did you not read the book she gave you?]

[As if he can hear the underlying question, Sanji's head lowers a notch in self-abasement, and his voice comes out a mumble]

... There were a lot of names I had to memorize.

[Lara shakes her head, smiling brightly.]

And it's only been a few days. I understand. Bishamon is the Japanese Goddess of War. She's apparently immortal, too. As she isn't a reincarnation.

Hn... so if I wanna know anything important, she's probably the lady to find.

[Alright, he can get behind asking a beautiful woman for tips]

... Neh, Lara-chan. You've got a shinki, right? [He assumes, at least. After a pause, he continues with his thought] It's true that shinki have a power only their God can use?
