[Well, Davesprite can't say he isn't familiar with that - even remembering nothing of his life before here, the way he's written certain phrases and remarks down compulsively as lyrical fragments speaks of habit, and probably passion that he's forgotten and doesn't want to risk thinking too hard on. Not that he can follow it up without expensive equipment, but he figures it's probably safer just randomly writing lyrics for the moment anyway. In any case, there's a certain understanding in the way he responds.]

That's how you tell someone's really in it for the love of it. Flipping off the money that isn't what they need to just keep the gig running.
