Who: Urashima and you
What: Recovering from a fight, some shinki/sword practice, and a vague attempt at a shopping trip

Where: A park, a shopping mall, and an abandoned temple (Far Shore)

1. I'm going to take a look at the sea for a while... (9 June | the Near Shore)

( On the 9th, a voice message goes out on the network. It's short and simple, albeit, a little vague )

Heh heh… Can someone help me get back home? I got in trouble…

( He attempts to be lighthearted, trying not to worry anyone but there's something in his voice that suggests things aren't exactly okay. His voice is quiet and drags in the way one might talk if they were particularly tired. He also doesn't respond to anyone that asks for more information though, he's managed to attach an off-center picture of some sign and a particular landmark to show where he is. It's a park somewhere in the city, not too far from a shrine or two.

When you arrive, Urashima's on a park bench, laying down on his side with his eyes closed. It looks like he's napping and really, it wouldn't look like much is wrong at all if you saw him in passing. His usual turtle companion rests next to his face beside to a small pile of short needles which suggests he didn't just get sleepy and take a nap. )

2. I wonder if I can use this well~? (General | the Far Shore)

( After he's gotten home and cleaned up and has had a chance to recover, Urashima bounces back fast enough. He's not the type of person to stay grounded for very long and as soon as he's well enough, he's back to his training. This time, he's trying to change it up a bit! Instead of practicing at Hachiman's temple or some other center, he's checking out one of the many abandoned temples on the Far Shore.

There's a sword at his side but he isn't practicing with that right now. Instead, he draws his hand in a stabbing motion and strikes at a tree, cutting one of the branches. )

Huu...

( He makes a face. This isn't really as satisfying as actually cutting something with a blade............. )

3. What're we buying? (Shopping Mall | the Near Shore)

( Urashima's never had to worry about fashion before.

For most of his time in this life, he'd stayed in the Far Shore, only really going out to the Near Shore occasionally. Back then and even now, in these summer months, he'd been able to get away with his more traditional clothes— he was clearly just a kid on his way to local festival or something— but it's a little dated, isn't it? Maybe he should find something else? But where does he even begin?

The answer is the food court where he's just bought himself an ice cream cone. He's feeding "Himechan" one of the strawberries that came with it and just sort of... people watching next to some of the gacha machines. )

Eh... fashion sure is confusing, Himechan...

( Just mumbling as he watches some girls in lolita dress walk behind a group of kids in school uniform... )

[ He's nearby when he catches the message, he doesn't intend to do anything but check on him but when on his approach -- Was he sleeping? Zero shakes his head and heads over to the bench to: ]

This isn't a hotel.

( Urashima groans, eyes shutting tighter and eyebrows knitting closer. )

Buu, buu... let me rest.

( It's a quiet whine and when he opens his eyes finally, he doesn't make an effort to get up. He stays right where he is, looking at Zero or at least, trying to look at him. His vision isn't exactly focused and he's looking somewhere vaguely in Zero's direction but not quite. He squints, trying to get his vision to focus, but he's just so dizzy right now. )

It's you...

( Ichiru? Maybe? )

[ There's a pause there, as the Hunter tries to remember if he's ever seen this kid before but his face draws a blank. He's not waking up either which has Zero frowning down at him. ]

Where's your temple?

[minogame]

Shiva. ( That's where he needs to go and he starts to sit up. ) He's probably worried...

( If he saw the message, that is, and he doesn't want Terra to worry at all. He props himself with one arm, and his sleeves are short, stopping just at his forearm, which reveals a few oddly scattered red dots on the skin-- little irritated marks, like they could come from bug bites or the needles next to im. )

It's really close... I think.

( Somewhere near the park, at least? If he's at the right one. The last thing he remembered was getting into a fight and trying to go back to the Far Shore. But he'd gotten so dizzy in the crowd of people, he'd just wanted to find somewhere quiet before he made himself sick with dizziness. )

[ His eyes immediately catch sight of those marks, then shift over to the needles and back to him again. ]

What happened.

[The strike, as unsatisfying as it may be to Urashima earns some applause. Goten grins down at him from atop one of the broken pillars still standing around the abandoned temple. He lowers his hands and kicks his feet that are dangling off the edge. He hadn't been watching the other shinki long but it was weird to find someone else wandering around a temple that was suppose to be empty so how could he not pause his exploring to watch Urashima train.]

That's really cool! But do you really need a sword if you can do it with your hand?

[ Despite his stay here no longer technically falling under the category of "short", Demyx's inherent laziness dictates that there's still much -- even in the Far Shore -- that's left unexplored. Sheer boredom is what finds him wandering among the abandoned temples as a result, a place he's never been with people he's never met. He's not immediately inclined to disturb anyone -- especially not someone with a sword strapped to them -- but the sound of impact to the branch draws his attention.

He has to look twice to notice that the sword that cut the tree, (or so he'd thought initially), is still sheathed at his side. ]

...Did you seriously just cut that thing without touching it?! That's awesome!

There's an ayakashi. My fr-- someone wanted to experiment with it.

When I said it was dangerous and tried to stop him... He closes his eyes and pulls his sleeve to cover his arm, He got mad.

And they fought. But Urashima doesn't want to get him in trouble, not when the problem is someone trying to be misguided good intent as opposed to trying to cause trouble. But the sooner someone just takes out the ayakashi before Chikusa hurts himself more.

Huh?

Urashima looks up when he hears the clapping. He looks a little embarrassed-- only a little-- but he smiles all the same.

Heh heh... I guess not. But it doesn't feel the same, you know?

Or maybe not. But something feels a lot more natural about using a real sword than using... magic or however this can be explained.

[sonofson]

[Goten's head tilts at the question, he ponders it for a second before shaking his head]

Not really. I've never used a sword before. Hey! You should let me try yours then I'll know what you mean!

[It's really just an excuse to borrow the other shinki's weapon on the pure fact that swords are really cool to seven year olds]

I'll give it right back, I promise!

(It would have been nicer if had been the sword that cut the tree. Instead, he feels kind of like he's playing a really dangerous game of charades like this.)

Huh? (he stands up straighter, looking to see who's talking to him. Oh, he's never seen this guy before...) Yeah. Heh heh, it's nothing special.

W-wait...!

(His hand is holding the sword real close to him now. Is that okay? He can't just give a kid a weapon! I mean, Urashima's a kid too but as the owner it's his job to be the more responsible kid and not just pass it off to random people?)

What're you going to do with it first?

(Stab a tree????)

I donno. Swing it around? That's what swords are for aren't they?

[He leans over a bit, peering down at Urashima curiously and not seeing what the big deal is.]

You know about it then me. What do you do with it?

Swords aren't toys...

(You cant just swing them around like wooden swords and bats? This is a real sword!!!)

I haven't really had a chance to use it... I normally practice with a wooden one. But you shouldn't use a real sword until you've had a lot of training and practice.

(He sounds really gentle as he tries his best to explain. He doesn't really know a lot (or rather, he doesn't think so) but he isn't going to just give a sword to someone who doesn't know what they're doing.)

People can get really hurt. You can get hurt.

(Excuse you, a park is a perfectly good place to take a nap... but it would be nicer under a cherry tree on a cool spring day. When Andersen shakes Urashima, he groans, closing his eyes tighter and starts to whine,)

I'm not sleeping...! (Except he definitely was. He opens one eye to look at Andersen and then both to squint. "Himechan" moves closer to his face, tail flicking anxiously. Ugh, there are like three of everything still.) I'm just resting.

(Same difference.)

[Xehanort's out exploring too. His own temple wasn't exceedingly far from here, and although he appreciated its hot dry wind, there was so much more to see than just that.

And this time he has his phone. Except he's using it to take pictures and notes instead of anything like making phonecalls and texts. The sound of a branch falling draws his attention away from trying to get a good angle on a fading mural, and reluctantly he abandons his poking around in favor of finding out what that was.

'That' in this case seems to be Urashima.

And a conspicuous branch.]

..Well. Hello again. You're a magician?

[How could he not be, THERE'S A CUT BRANCH ON THE GROUND .. and that sword's not drawn.]

( Is it really so weird? He feels like this was one of the first things he learned arriving here so it should be common knowledge... but maybe he just got lucky (he did). )

Nu-uh. ( Shaking his head, ) It's just a line.

( For the most part, Urashima's been trying to stay low, avoiding troubling Jakob anymore than he already has. Hmm, Jakob's probably really mad at him still, right? They caused a lot of problems together... but Urashima can't just stay away when he feels responsible.

Which is why, not long after their unfortunate adventure Urashima sends Jakob a text message. )

Mr. Jakob? Is it ok to come over for a little bit?

[ Fortunately for him, Jakob isn’t really mad—he generally doesn’t care enough about others to hold a grudge. But this? The pain of their last meeting still lingers, and he feels that he’s somehow wronged Urashima—if only by failing to show him proper hospitality. But between him and his own issues with Add Jakob finds it far more agreeable to remain within the temple for the next few days, to brood and to keep largely to himself. Not even the thought of visiting Roxas’s temple—always a cheering prospect—can lift him out of this black mood, but some of it does seem to dissipate when he pulls out his smartphone at the beep and stares at the message. ]

I won’t stop you.

( Two guilty parties make one awkwardly miserable one... When Urashima gets the green light, he almost jumps. He wasn't expecting a response so soon and he wasn't getting his hopes up for a positive answer. )

I'll be there soon!

( And sure enough, he does show up at the temple. He has his hands behind his back but it isn't hard to see a canvas shopping bag behind him. On his shoulder, his little turtle friend, now dubbed "Himechan" is resting.

He fidgets a bit, nervous about exactly how things are going to go but... Jakob said it was okay, right? )

[Shinki powers: not likely well known to new arrivals who aren't shinki. Which might be why the branch is eyed, and then the boy himself. 'A line'.]

I don't think that word means to me what it does to you. Can you explain?

[Goten blinks at him, deflating a bit. He pouts as his shoulders drop a bit]

I'd be really careful! C'mon, pleeeeeasssse?

[Don't be a killjoy Urashima. He just wants to play]

How can you say that when you haven't really used it either?

(It's super effective! At least, it gets her to settle some because at least someone is here to help.

Urashima starts to shift. Look, he's a good kid and isn't going to not listen to his elders... even though Andersen doesn't look that much older than him, to be honest. He props himself on one arm, head still hanging low and feeling incredibly groggy. His sleeves are short so while he's propped up, there are some red pin marks on his forearm-- small, scattered, and red, almost like multiple bug bites.)

... There's an ayakashi. (He tries to warn.) Someone's gotta get rid of it.
