[Well. That's slightly safer. Scully's still planning on yelling at whoever handed off even a pellet gun without telling the recipient which end bullets came out of, but she is less tense. She checks the safety on her own gun and points it downrange at the targets, demonstrating her grip.]

Hold it like this. The one you have isn't going to give you much kick, but a real gun has recoil--

[-- she recalibrates, reminding herself again that this guy has never seen a gun before, and veers back towards smaller words and simpler explanations.]

-- when you fire it, it pushes back against your hand. The bullet will go in a straight line when you pull the trigger [more or less, but he'll get the feel for that more easily with practice] so point it at your target, then pull the trigger.
