Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[Chikusa, honestly, isn't particularly interested in the more... physical side of this whole little training endeavor. For one thing, as far as he's concerned, it's not really what he should be working on. Not only is he a shinki, but he's quickly realized that his talents are best suited for murdering someone in their sleep instead of trying to go with an upfront approach.]

[Also, he would sweat, and that's just gross.]

[However, that hasn't stopped him from investigating some of the weaponry that's on offer for both shinki and gods, and, if you go to approach something, he might tilt his head at you.]

Do you know how to use that, or are you just trying it...?

[Alternatively, if you're using things like the jumping blocks or the pool, you might have a bespectacled loser watching you. Does he want to give it a go himself or is he just watching like a weirdo? Who knows!]

Shinki Training

[If you've allowed yourself to be herded into being paired with someone else, well, congratulations. Your partner is the blankfaced looking teenager with the black beanie with white text on it, and his gaze flicks over his current training partner.]

....So do you know how to make a borderline...?

[If you're on your own, then, well... You might find yourself being quietly approached by him instead, unassuming save for his lanky height (and even then, it's not as noticeable considering he slouches all the damn time.]

I need a partner, but.... not for borderlines...

Refreshments

[On one hand, one can find Chikusa acting almost like a normal teenager as he sits on the edge of the pool, pants rolled up with his bare feet in the water and him picking at a salad filled with cucumbers and strawberries.]

[And yet... on the other hand... Well. Don't be surprised if you see him trying to wrap up strawberries in napkins to see how many he can get away with.]

[Listen. These might come in handy later.]

[After getting himself involved in a group of white-clad shinki and being dragged into a training session, Lavi finally managed to sneak away in time to get some refreshments.

You know, I'm sure you don't have to sneak around just to grab food from here.

I'm not sneaking...

[...A pause as he considers that he might be doing it on default before he just shrugs.]

I want to see if there's a limit.

[Lavi looks somewhat amused.]

It's free food; don't think anyone will complain if you take as much as you'd like.

[Danikken is inspecting a two-handed katana and frowning a bit at it. He blinks at looks over at the question posed by the teen, but isn't sure whether he should be nodding or shaking his head.]

Do you know if we're allowed to keep these? [What's the point in finding a good sword if he can't take it with him, after all? How's he going to protect himself among all these strange gods if he has to?]

...It's not like she's my god...

[Wow. Someone who possibly looks even less excited to be here than Zangetsu. When he heard "training", he got quite excited! But he wasn't allowed to really cut loose, so what fun was it? Tch]

Yeah, I can. Ain't hard. What about it?

It'd just be annoying if you didn't know what you were doing.

[Chikusa doesn't want to play teacher today. Or any other day. Why did he come here again...? Oh, right.]

How strong are yours, then...?

[Zangetsu grins] You wanna find out?

[he doesn't even wait for an answer. He just draws a line in front of him. Instead of glowing brightly, the light emitted by the line is... almost negative. Black. Creepy! Just like the shinki]

[...Well. I mean. There's always that one weirdo in class, right? Chikusa takes a step back and eyes the line suspiciously.]

Is that actually a real borderline...?

[Considering the various strange abilities both gods and shinki can have, it seems like a good question to ask, honestly.]

[ Standing on the sidelines, the slight blond watched with a hand gently curled at her lips, a cheerful smile playing on her lips as she observed. Was she taking it all in, or maybe just a little over her head? Hard to say, but judging by the small, almost twitching gestures that her fingers made—

(Was she trying to figure out what the other shinki were doing for herself? Even without practical training or first-hand experience?) ]

[ Hearing the lanky teenager at her side, Lux turned her head slightly, blinking once, twice, yet still retaining that easy smile. ]

Oh, sure! Although I'm not sure I'll be much help.

It shouldn't be too hard... Ah.

[Right. This is the most important part, and he does a sweep of her with his eyes. Maybe he can find the answer for himself, but in case he can't-]

[He'd just like to talk with someone without accidentally stepping into a host of emotional problems is that so much to ask for]

[But anyway. His expression doesn't change much, although he gives a barely noticeable nod.]

Kakimoto Chikusa. But.... those aren't the same.

Shinki Training

[Scully looks up at the tall young man, her own posture ramrod-straight as if in response to his casual slouch. Or, possibly, because her own sensible low heels aren't doing very much to make up for nearly a foot of difference between their heights, and she's already frustrated enough with her difficulty casting borderlines.]

I've been working on it.

[And, reluctantly, she adds...]

... can you give me any advice?

[Even Chikusa can probably tell that he shouldn't be giving advice to anyone, but he gives an agreeable enough shrug.]

What are you having a problem with exactly...?

[She turns, slightly, and slashes a hand down with two fingers outstretched, calling out Line!

Absolutely nothing happens. No barrier; not even the least flicker of light.]

[Scully didn’t ask for sass, but, here it is anyway. Still, he considers her problem.]

Shinki Training

[Kairi walks up to her next random partner, in her training gear of halfway-up-the-leg skintight shorts and a loose skirt on top of it with t-shirt and vest on. All clothing that'll be close to her body and not get in her way. This time, happily, it's someone she even knows! She hears him asking about borderlines to the others, so before he can fully see she's up next, she walks up to tap him on the shoulder.]

Think you're a pro at the lines already, huh?

[She smiles, ready to test herself against someone she is so physically dwarfed by.]

So you can do that dagger thing too, as often as you need?

[kokuyoyo]

[Ah. It's Kairi. Blinking, he slowly turns around to face her.]

No.... But it's easier to practice against someone who knows what they're doing...

[At least he's honest. A simple nod answers her question.]

It's one of the first thing I learned how to do.... During the festival. But I'm not sure how effective it really was...

[Kairi gives him a smile.]

Well good - because I know what I'm doing too! I learned it first that day as well, but I've been training with Mr. Kazuma afterwards and going on those prayers helped too.

[She puts her hands on her hips.]

So what do you say? Your borderlines against mine?

Sure...

[Whether it's one person or someone else, it's still practicing borderlines in the end, right? He starts to shuffle away so that there's some distance between them.]
