Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.
Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment
- Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.
God Training
- Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.
Shinki Training
- Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.
Refreshments
- There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Use the state of the art equipment
- Learn about your job
- Form groups to practice
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~
Viktor Nikiforov | OTA
Equipment
Viktor had come to the temple willingly and enthusiastically. He wanted to learn how to do this Shinki thing well, after all!
The amount of equipment available made him smile, and he found himself not minding the exercise in the slightest. He seemed to be pretty decent on his feet (and in the pool!), and he found himself taking to the jumping blocks with ease. Hefting weapons was a bit past his comfort zone, though. Still, nothing for it but to try!
He smiled at the shinki dressed in white who handed him a rather ornate looking sword when he approached. He understood that it was simply to practice with, but the red tassel and sparkly purple wrapping on the handle had enticed him like a moth to a flame.
"I think this might work..."
Shinki Training
With his newfound sword, Viktor walked over to the more open training area. He usually wasn't at all shy about approaching people, something he'd learned very quickly since arriving, but this was different. He hesitated, keeping to the side to watch others for awhile.
He put the majority of his focus on people using swords, in an attempt to learn how to use one. It seemed a little complicated, but he thought he could probably handle it, if he practiced. To that end, he decided he might as well just announce himself to everyone. No sense standing and waiting for someone to approach him, after all! Initiative was the name of the game. Or something. He didn't know, but standing around was getting boring and he wanted to try out what he'd seen.
"If anyone would like to practice, I'm ~available!~"
Refreshments
He'd worked up quite a sweat! It turns out that swords were heavy things even in their practice models, and learning to move with it was enough of a challenge that he'd had to give it his all. When he finally made his way to the refreshment table, sword still in hand, the amount of food available made him hum a little in happiness. He chose a banana and some kind of blue drink, simply for its color, and went to sit down and rest his sword against the lounge chair.
"Great variety of snacks, isn't it? I think I might have seen some caviar!"
Equipment
However, that doesn't mean he isn't faintly curious about it all anyway, and he's in the process of just browsing them when Viktor comes up and is given a weapon. Tilting his head slightly, the teenager raises an eyebrow.
"Do you know how to use that...?"
no subject
"Not even a little bit! But I'm here to learn, after all."
He grinned.
"Would you like to train with me? I don't know how to do any real shinki things yet, but I don't seem to have much experience with weapons either."
no subject
Oh, and there's another thing he supposes is worth mentioning. "My fighting is unconventional.... It wouldn't really be useful to practice again..." Is that enough to get him out of gross sweaty exercise duty?

Training!
Finally settling on a sword herself (it was what she had on her person when she found herself in the Far Shore, so it seemed only appropriate), Lux stifled a short giggle at the silver-haired man's sudden outburst. Well, someone was eager.
"In that case," Stepping forward, the sheath of a blade hanging at her left side, the slight blond smiled. "Let me be your partner."
no subject
He gave a sweeping bow, giving her what he hoped was a charming smile.
"Go easy on me, though. I'm new to all this."
no subject
"If you would like, we can take things slow to start. Show me what you know."

A little above and behind Viktor, there's an extremely odd-looking being floating in the air - a bright orange boy with a tail that looks like something from a ghost, wings, a feathery ruff, and taloned fingers. As if that's all not weird enough, he has a katana sticking out of his stomach to no apparent ill effect or even real injury, and after he's done with his little deadpan joke, he draws the blade. It comes out no less smoothly than pulling one from a normal sheathe would, and with the same lack of effect on him.
"Seriously, if you're looking for a sword partner, I'm down."
no subject
Viktor winked, completely unbothered by the appearance of the person who'd approached him. Instead, he found himself captivated by the sight of the sword being drawn.
"That was amazing~! I'd love to be your partner, if you'll have me."
He bowed slightly, not bothering at all to specify which sort of partner he meant.
no subject
"Yeah, guess that's true enough. If you're still getting to know that thing, I can show you the ropes before we go full mano a mano, or if you want to just jump straight in I can do that too. Just don't want to go full bore on a newbie, I'm not your standard sword partner for more than the obvious reasons."
He's just going to roll with sword partner now, because on closer inspection, Davesprite is very sure he and this guy aren't remotely in the same age group and it kind of messes with the joke on his end. Not that the guy looks bad regardless, but Davesprite shunts that thought out of his mind basically as soon as it gets there.

Work for what?
[Beyond accidentally chopping his fingers off.]

Okay, so maybe, maybe Viktor was a little offended his god had decided to follow him here. He may not have known what his job entailed but he was perfectly capable of going to training and learning things.
...Possibly.

[Yuri's level of tolerance of Viktor was higher than it really looked on the outside, but he couldn't help but feel a little more irritated than usual by the current situation. He knew if he he made it an order, that would probably mean Viktor would be even less likely to do it, but he was kind of bad at making anything he said come out any other way.]

Scully cleared her throat. She hadn't meant to sound that disbelieving: after all, plenty of people here were using weapons as antique, or even weirder, and she supposed that it wasn't as though weapons laws were going to apply to the ... dead.
Or the whatever they were, although, as reluctant as she was to accept it, it was getting harder to deny that they were spirits after all.
She softened her tone, and suggested, "Wouldn't it be a little easier to learn to use a gun?"
no subject
"Well, I wouldn't call this using it, really. I'm really just holding it, for now. And I'm not fond of guns, they're far too loud and sudden. They lack any sort of beauty."
Beauty was very important to Viktor Nikiforov, after all. Even when it came to weapons.
no subject
Although, in his defense, they were going to be fighting some kind of ghost monsters, if she'd grasped this whole "ayakashi" idea properly. Who knew what a sword would do to a ghost?
Who knew what a gun would do to a ghost? She was probably going to be just as helpless.
On the other hand, not every threat was going to be a ghost. She still didn't know why she -- or any of the others -- were here, and she'd heard of more than one disappearance. If there were kidnappings going on, well, Scully was going to feel much more secure about it all if she was armed.
She crossed her arms. "What kind of weapon are you for your god?"
God, that sentence made her sound like she'd lost touch with reality. She winced, and bit her tongue against qualifying it. It made sense here.

Then he lifts the facemask, without removing the whole helmet, and gives the other man an amused grin. "Yo. Been awhile."
no subject
Which, with Viktor? May have been a surprise, but he'd always liked a great variety of foods and caviar, while okay, simply wasn't that interesting.
"Hello! It really has. How've you been?" Viktor himself had turned into a bit of a homebody, spending far too much time with the cats in Bastet's temple.
no subject
"That I can believe." He leans on one hip a bit. "Supposed to be, sure, but I always hated the stuff. Give me decent meat and potatoes any day. Maybe a rueben." That said, he pops a cracker in his mouth before answering, since it's one of the few things that can fit through the hole in the mask.
"I'm sure I got your name before, but just to double check," as if he can't read minds, "You're Viktor, right?" His eyes glance to the side, still looking around for Bishamon's minions. "Which god did you end up with again?" Again, as if he can't read minds and figure it out for himself, but he likes doubling down on basic information to see if people will try to lie to him.

She takes a look at the sword though and gets a little confused. "Sorry, I thought we were primarily practicing borderlines and spells today. Did you just want to spar instead, then?" She's got a confident stance about her anyway. He may have to wonder if she's as new as him, but just equally gregarious with her offers of new training partnerships, or if she really has been here long enough to adopt the proud air of an experienced shinki.
no subject
He grinned, her confidence and exuberance making him happy.
"I don't know how to make borderlines yet! Do you? I could really use a teacher for anything shinki-related, if you wouldn't mind!"
no subject
In the end she nods, still a little blushy but excited for the opportunity. "Nice to meet you, for starters. My name is Kairi. I'm one of the shinki working with Artemis, but his real name is Roxas." She extends a hand, but then laughs a little sheepishly. "I don't know if you're a handshake kind of person or hug kind of person, especially on the first meeting..."

"I don't mind, should I switch over to a sword too?" You don't always go up against another sword when using a sword.
no subject
He was going to get beaten either way, he was fairly certain! But may as well be nice about it.
no subject
He flips the staff into a more casual hold.
"If we use the same kind of weapon it might be pretty good but so might different ones. I guess we could try both."
