Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Chikusa's preferred weaponry is rather... unorthodox, and he's not expecting it to be represented in any of the weaponry being offered. Even if it was, he'd probably not be interested in picking it up. He's not here to learn how to physically train; that's something he can do on his own. Instead, he's a bit more interested in the kind of things only shinki can do.

However, that doesn't mean he isn't faintly curious about it all anyway, and he's in the process of just browsing them when Viktor comes up and is given a weapon. Tilting his head slightly, the teenager raises an eyebrow.

"Do you know how to use that...?"

Viktor saw Chikusa approaching, and he had to smile. He was reminded a little of his god, all things considered.

"Not even a little bit! But I'm here to learn, after all."

He grinned.

"Would you like to train with me? I don't know how to do any real shinki things yet, but I don't seem to have much experience with weapons either."

"I came to learn more about the spells shinki can do..." Both borderline practice and other things. So Chikusa can only shrug.

Oh, and there's another thing he supposes is worth mentioning. "My fighting is unconventional.... It wouldn't really be useful to practice again..." Is that enough to get him out of gross sweaty exercise duty?
leapingchuu: (look at this playboy moron)

"Ah. I did too! But I think learning how to use a weapon might be useful in this whole shinki endeavor."

Viktor just smiled, rather amused at Chikusa's obvious aversion to the idea of weapons training. "It's perfectly fine if you don't want to! No need to make an excuse. I'd like to see this unconventional fighting, though."

Well, if he insists… It’s not like it’s a troublesome thing to show of. Chikusa’s weapons are something he fiddles with so often that they’re practically an extension of himself, and toying with them sometimes even puts him at ease. So, with a shrug, he reaches into one of his pockets…. And pulls out a shiny red yoyo.

If Viktor looks at it closely, he might notice that there are tiny holes dotting the edges, but they’re easy to miss.

Nope, Viktor definitely didn't notice the holes. He was more excited to see a yoyo than he cared about the finer details of it.

"That's what you fight with? That's amazing! I'm really looking forward to seeing this!"

And he wasn't lying. It didn't seem to be the type of thing anyone would be expecting, so he really wanted to see how exactly a toy could be used as a weapon.

That works just fine in Chikusa’s favor as well, so it’s not like he’s upset about it. It’s deceptive quality is what makes them weapons he likes, after all. While the excitement is a little new, he doesn’t seem to respond much to it, just shrugs. Without thinking about it, he starts to toy with his weapon- tricks winding it around his fingers and composing different shapes easily, like second nature.

“They work better surprising people… They have more weight to them than average, but they’re still small sized blunt weapons when they’re used in the usual way... “ And they could choke a man out, but that was unimportant. “I was wondering if they’d have something similar so that I wouldn’t rough it up during practice, but it looks like not…”

"That's disappointing! It would be fun to learn some tricks, if you'd be willing to teach them. But you're already doing really amazing things, so you have a captive audience if you want to continue!"

Yep, Viktor was absolutely enthralled, rather like a small child whose eyes had lit up at sighting the toy. Then again, he was sort of an overgrown child, so it was probably fitting that the yoyo would spark his interest.

"I bet most people don't suspect it being used as a weapon."
kokuyoyo: (Can't believe I ate straight coffee)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-02-26 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if he really wants to watch so bad, it's not like Chikusa will really stop him. It's easy to keep toying with the yoyos, even as he's talking.

"No, they don't... That's why it's good for surprise attacks. But I guess weapons like what's being offered.... are for more upfront confrontations."
leapingchuu: (hrm)

[personal profile] leapingchuu 2017-03-07 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that was good, because Viktor was kind of into it!

"Hmmm. That would make sense. My god has been griping at me to learn spells rather than a sword, but to be honest I just thought it was pretty. It would be a lot of fun to learn to use something for surprise attacks, though!"
kokuyoyo: (I mean I don't even call it a hangover)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-03-08 09:45 am (UTC)(link)
“A borderline at the very least…” But that’s useful for his own gain, too, if only because one line has a limit to how useful it can be. If he runs into someone else and they need another borderline but they don’t know how to make it…. Ugh. Troublesome.

“....You could always try poison…. But that won’t work on ayakashi.”
leapingchuu: (grey)

[personal profile] leapingchuu 2017-03-20 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
"A borderline would be good! My god gripes at me about not knowing how to make one. But then, how would I know if no one teaches me?"

He shook his head, then.

"Poison just seems devious. I don't really want to use sneak attacks on anyone unless I really need to."
kokuyoyo: <user name="tigerparty"> (I woke up with a yoyo in my)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-03-21 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
With that said, all Chikusa does is draw a line promptly between the two of them. It's a wordless endeavor, seemingly effortless, and it holds up steadily.

"....Shout 'Issen' too when you do it.... At least for the first few time until you've gotten used to it..."

And that's all he'll say on that, not addressing the commentary about the poison.
