013 | Down To Business

Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

[He nods back.]

Yeah, it took me about a year to work up to it, but I can lift it comfortably now.

[Even without One for All.]

[That's impressive. He laughs just a little.]

I'm not sure if I could ever say it was "comfortable," even if I trained for it. [He's built kind of light, after all.]

I'm Danik. [There's no other titles necessary right now, mostly because he's still mostly disbelieving this being a god business.]

[Izuku was built like a stick once upon a time, but that's far behind him now.]

You probably could, but I don't think most people need to.

I'm Midoriya Izuku. Deku is fine too though.

[Danikken is definitely going to put himself into the "people that don't need to lift 225 kg" category.

He frowns a bit at the name options.]
What do you prefer to be called?

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-02-17 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Midoriya is fine, but Deku is a nickname. It's also my hero name at home.
maesheteyrah: (wink)

[personal profile] maesheteyrah 2017-02-17 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
[...That didn't exactly answer the question as to which name he prefers. But on the other hand...]

Hero name? Like a name you've earned for something? What does the name Deku mean?

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-02-17 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's like... a work name.

[Right, people who don't have hero schools.]

Deku sounds similar to the Japanese word for 'I can do it'.
maesheteyrah: (hmm)

[personal profile] maesheteyrah 2017-02-17 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
[He considers the person in front of him.]

Is being a hero your job?

[He'll probably prefer to call you Midoriya because he's not a huge fan of "work names." Probably because he has a bunch of them himself.]

[personal profile] fullcowl 2017-02-17 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
It's going to be. I was still going to school for it at home.
maesheteyrah: (seriously?)

[personal profile] maesheteyrah 2017-02-22 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
They teach you how to be one at school?

[It seems like he has to be missing something, like they are both using the word hero but it means different things.]

We have to get licensed if we want to work professionally. Things like rescue, first aid and response. Dealing with villains is part of it too, but we can't neglect the basics.
maesheteyrah: (somewhere above)

[personal profile] maesheteyrah 2017-02-28 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
[That is... the weirdest thing. Not the part about being a medic. That seems perfectly reasonable. Dealing with villains just sounds bizarre.]

Are villains a... common problem where you're from? [He's trying to be more tactful than confused and he's not sure if he's pulling it off.] And when you say professional, do you mean you are paid for your hero work?

Yes. With the rise of quirks came a rise in crime.

[He really doesn't mind talking about home and all it's oddities.]

Right. A hero is a government paid position.
