Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[ Fan-tastic. A show-off. And one even more obnoxious than Gladio is about it. Noctis can already tell he's going to like it here, looking irritated as every weapon he's about to grab keeps being flung before he even has a chance to take it. What's this guy doing anyway? What sort of training is this supposed to be? Even he reserves throwing his weapons for actually planning to warp to them when he has to.

Right about the fifth or sixth time, he finally gets irritated enough to speak up- ]

Would you stop that?

[ Not that he really needs the weapons, but he did want to test them out anyway just for curiosity's sake. ]

Give me a break. I'm not plucking any of those out from there.

[ He hadn't been the one to fling them to begin with, so it's clear who should be cleaning up around here. ]

There must be better weapons to use.

[ One good thing about Tendou: He's actually quite handy with housework, and he certainly has no problems cleaning up after himself. So he saunters over to the target board, plucking out the weapons one by one and dropping them into a basket. ]

You can't learn anything like this. Especially not when so many shinki are anything but ordinary weapons.

[ He twirls a practice knife around in his hands. ]

Maybe if we tied three swords together, they'd be heavy enough...

[ Oh... he actually did it. Noctis blinks, having thought he would have just blown him off or something.

Well, okay then. That still doesn't make up for what he says next, which is an unbearably stupid idea. ]

How are you going to swing something with three hilts?

[ Unless he puts each through his fingers and wears them like claws, but that is also not a really bright idea. ]

Have you tried just asking for a great sword from whoever put these out here? I'm sure they have to have one somewhere.

[ They have everything else, so why not a great sword? Though that shinki comment does have him thinking... ]

I know that shinki can be weapons for the gods, but does every god have to get one?

[ He hasn't exactly found his own yet, not that he even needs the extra weapon. And if shinki are sort of dead people, how would he fit them into his arsenal? The whole concept doesn't exactly make a whole lot of sense to him, though he's caught a bunch of the shinki training together. They look, well, like ordinary people to him. Nothing weapon-like about them. ]

Isn't that what the training is for?

[ Isn't that obvious? It should be obvious. But actually, isn't two swords locked together just the Gatack Cutters? Three would be a rather odd upgrade to that, but clearly there's precedent. ]

I already have a great sword. If I wanted to swing that around, I wouldn't need to be here.

[ Not that he needs to be here in the first place. This level of training is far beneath his level. At least, in his opinion, and if it's not obvious by now, Tendou has a rather inflated opinion of himself. Whether or not that's warranted, is another issue altogether. ]

Apparently, ayakashi can only be permanently destroyed by shinki, so if you want to be a fighting god, you'll certainly need one. Unfortunately.

[ The Kabuto Zecter might get jealous. ]

So you want a heavy sword but not a great sword?

[ 'The hell kind of sword is that? Maybe a long katana or something? He can't picture what would lie in between in his head and thinks this guy is just being difficult for the sake of being difficult. Any sword should do.

At least, he answers his question. So none of his weapons will be useful on ayakashi? Just great. What's the point of having them then? ]

And where exactly am I supposed to find my shinki? I haven't seen him ...or her around here anywhere.

[ How will he even know which one is his? They all look normal to him. Nobody has a giant arrow pointing to their head or anything like that, and the messenger just said something about not talking to them regarding how they died. Which is fine with him. Noctis doesn't want to talk about any of that anyway. ]

I was actually thinking about a double-ended naginata.

[ Or perhaps even sword-chucks.

He really is a difficult guy. ]

I have yet to meet mine, but I've been assured the connection will be instant. Besides, I already have the partner I need.

[ A robotic beetle flies in out of nowhere and lands on Tendou's shoulder, seemingly very happy with that fact.

Sure, he can't finish off Ayakashi like this, but he's still enough of a fighting force to be valuable. Just need to find someone else to take off that last bit of HP. ]

[ Oh gross. Why does it have to be a bug? Noctis can't hide his disgust at the sight of it, robotic or not. It doesn't look cute, friendly, or inviting at all. ]

That's not a partner. It's a bug.

[ Just pointing out that fact in case anyone missed that here. ]

I had something in mind that wasn't a bug. Sure you wouldn't rather have a shinki?

[ Because that's definitely a bug right there. Why would he just let it camp out on his shoulder, too? This guy's weird all around, Noctis concludes. ]

It's the Kabuto Zecter.

[ How can one man be so wrong about everything? This is clearly a valuable partner. If people can keep dogs and cats, Tendou can keep a robotic beetle. ]

I couldn't tell you about having a shinki, but I can tell you that this one here has served me well for a long time.

[ It's cute and powerful, and more important to him than your life, Noctis. ]

But it's a bug.

[ A bug by any other name would still be a bug. It doesn't matter how fancy and technologic he's trying to make it sound. This guy is way too intense about his bug, too. He can't even see why it'd be unappealing to most people. ]

What does it exactly do?

[ Aside from presumably buzz around. He hasn't really seen it in action or doing much more than just flying. Maybe he'd give him the benefit of a doubt if it could broadcast cable TV or cook or find piles of gil. As it stands, he remains unimpressed. ]

It's a rhinoceros beetle.

[ Noctis is the one that's a weirdo here, in Tendou's view. The Kabuto Zecter is great. ]

I use it to transform, of course. It's also a tough little thing, too.

[ It could probably kick your ass, thinks Tendou internally. ]

[ Again, it doesn't matter what the hell he wants to call it. It won't change the fact that it's unpleasant to look at. When he tells him it's to transform, he can't help imagining a giant beetle wearing this guy's hair on its head. That is a mental image he could have lived without, trying to hide his grimace at the thought of it alone. ]

-into a beetle? Why would that be a good thing?

[ Even for stealth purposes, that's still something terrible to turn into. Wouldn't it be better to be something badass like a sleek coeurl or even a dragon? But no, this guy is happy to be a beetle of all things... ]

Into a Kamen Rider.

[ Tendou looks at Noctis like he's crazy, because in Tendou's eyes, this guy clearly has more than a few problems. Obviously he's not going to transform into a normal beetle, what's that going to do?

Although Kabuto, being what it is, does have a beetle motif. ]

Because Riders are one of the saviours of mankind.

[ Duh. ]

[ ...Uh huh. Okay, he guesses that's an important thing here? Not like he knows what that even means. It sounds like an import motorcycle racing game or something like that, which would honestly be a lot cooler than whatever this guy is probably actually talking about. ]

So you ride something and save people...

[ Just so they're on the same page here. ]

Do you ride the beetle?

[ Look, he's not the one that brought up the beetle thing in the first place. He's just trying to understand what this guy is getting all bent out of shape about. ]

Why would I ride the beetle? The beetle is riding on my shoulder right now? I rode a motorcycle.

[ For god's sake, Noctis. Isn't that the most obvious thing in the world? It sure is to Tendou.

Although he doesn't have the Kabuto Extender currently. ]

[ Not really. That definitely wouldn't have been his first guess, but riding a motorcycle is a lot more logical than riding the beetle. ]

So let me get this straight -the beetle transforms you into a motorcycle rider who does-?

[ -does what? Saves people, he guesses? Yeah, but how? Noctis feels like he's left to fill in a lot of blanks here, and the bug is still not appealing regardless of whether or not it gives him a cool bike. ]

Who fights monsters, obviously. Have you never seen a transforming hero before?

[ What a sad, sad world this guy must live in. Not knowing of heroes like these.

Of course, to much of the general public where he came from, the Kamen Riders were mostly urban legends, fighting mostly in secret, but that's part of what makes them cool, no? ]

[ It does sound like some of the shows he used to watch back home, but this is real life. Maybe. He hasn't quite ruled out the verdict that he's been having a really bizarre dream this entire time, but beetles that transform into bikes and fight off monsters is stretching things a little. ]

Not outside of TV or comics. Usually it's this dramatic five minute long transformation.

[ Which would give anyone ample time to kill said hero if it were something that happened in real life. ]

You don't have your own theme music, too, do you?

If I have, I've never heard it. [ Since he doesn't have any particular fourth wall breaking powers. He totally does though. ]

But now that I am, in fact, a sun god, perhaps I should obtain my own heraldry.

[ Which means it's time to actually get a theme song. ]

[ Why did he have to put that idea in his head? Now, he's seriously starting to regret having said anything at all. ]

Or you could not obtain one and call it a day?

[ Seems like a small concern in the long list of priorities. Doesn't he want to get out of here, too? ]

Do you know anything about how you even got here or what to do about the being a god thing?

You're right. The sun doesn't need a procession to make its presence known. Its light will do the trick.

[ Although he might get a theme song for kicks anyway. ]

We were chosen by the powers that be because they needed more bodies. I don't consider it anything to be particularly worried about. Things will run their proper course in time.

[ The specifics of world jumping are beyond him, but it's not something he puts too much thought into. He'll figure it out someday, but until then: ]

I'll just keep doing what I've always done.

[ He sounds weirdly calm about this whole kidnap situation. Noctis can't be the only one who sees what's going on here. ]

And what if they don't? Do you really want to be stuck in this place till you're an old man?

[ Her certainly doesn't, but he doesn't see anyone protesting around him, making him wonder what's really the deal with this place. Is there something obvious he's missing? ]

That's ridiculous. What kind of god ages?

[ Obviously that's the most important thing right now. ]

I'm a hero, a Kamen Rider, the sun. If I turned down someone's cries for help, I wouldn't be much of any of that, would I?

[ And so he succintly explains why he has no issues with any of this. ]

Perhaps one day I'll get homesick and look for a way home, but until then, I don't have anything to lose from being here.

We do ...don't we?

[ His face is pulled into a frown, hoping this guy isn't right. No one told him he would stop aging completely here. Not that he'd mind being young forever, but that also means being trapped here forever away from his friends. ]

I didn't think we were really gods. Aside from the new powers and a shinki, does that mean we're actually immortal?

[ It's not a theory he's eager to test out, especially if he's wrong about it and is still very much squishy. ]

We may not be invincible, but dying of old age won't be a problem. I'd be far more worried about people not believing.

[ How is he already so sure? Because Tendou is always sure about everything. Also he studied beforehand. ]

What else would we be? This is the land of eight million gods, I wouldn't be too surprised.

[ Shinto is a trip. ]

Not believing what?

[ That's a weird phrase. Why would he be worried about anything like that? And eight million seems like overkill. ]

Sure you got that right? We only have six in my world, and even that's a hassle.

[ Mostly because it involves him traveling far and wide and usually having to fight them, which, after nearly getting punched into bits and pieces, is not exactly on the top of his list of favorite pass-times at the moment. Besides, who'd have time to worship that many let alone even learn their names? ]
