Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

Also that still sounds like a terrible idea but.... YOLO. He stares at his hand a moment longer in bewildered accusation before closing his eyes and focusing again, taking a deep breath and repeating the movements just like he'd done before. Although he's hoping that maybe this time it will somehow miraculously work the way it's supposed to.

Which is optimistic of him but ultimately? Nope. Once more his barrier is composed of a wall of fire, and the tattoo he'd woken up with on his collarbone starts itching like crazy.

He gives a frustrated curse and drops the barrier again, watching it whoosh out of its form and swirl around him in a whirl of Red Aura for a moment before vanishing entirely. ]

Dammit!

[Yeah. He thinks he's seen this sort of thing before, or at least similar. Chikusa shrugs.]

You have another ability, I guess....

[ No one had said anything about this! ]

Am I supposed to have one of those?

[A shrug.]

Well, someone's gotta know why.

[ That just sounds like you're giving up too easily. ]

That's what we're here training for, right? Wouldn't the gods know? They're gods.

[ Aren't gods supposed to know everything? ]

[ Welp. That's something that hadn't occurred to him. ]

Well, shit. How am I supposed to figure it out, then?

[ Although he's not currently setting you on fire, so maybe it's not as hard as it sounds. ]

It erupted into flame when you tried to make a line…. Just work from there. It's not hard....

Should I be trying to set things on fire on purpose, then? [ Because he's obviously got the 'accidental' version down. ]

You may as well. If you have it...

[Besides, ignoring the probable inevitable property damage, it's a handy skill to have. Chikusa would have long ago set Hibari on fire if he could do something like this.]

[ To be fair, there's probably a number of people here that may end up on fire unless Yata finds his chill.

...You're not necessarily off that list yourself just yet.

He stares at his hand a moment longer before grumbling and turning to find one of the spare dummies nearby. That'll have to do, right?

He closes his eyes and focuses again, just like he had before, and points his fingers at the dummy, like he'd cast the Borderline.

....nothing happens.

Only then it does, and the flaming Aura wells up to glow about his arm, making it look as if he'd just set his own sleeve on fire.

He yelps and waves it around madly, trying to put it out, even though nothing on him is actually burning. ]

[Amazing.]

[Chikusa lags behind just to watch the free show, pulling strawberries to eat from his pocket, and blinks when Yata's arm catches alight. Only, after a second- ]

....Calm down.

My arm is on fire!

[ This is definitely not the time to be calm, and in fact, Yata's voice probably just reached an octave it hasn't hit since puberty.

He curses - fluently and succinctly - dancing around and waving his arm as he tries to put out the flicking Aura wrapped around his hand and arm up to the elbow. ]

[Well, this is certainly a show to watch, but Chikusa isn’t in the mood.]

Does it hurt?

Of course it...

[ Wait a minute.

The flailing stops and Yata finally catches on, waving his hand around on purpose now, staring at it in confusion. ]

Why doesn't it hurt?

[ That's definitely even more not normal. ]

Who knows…. But it’s probably a part of whatever you can do.

[ S I G H ]

Shut up.

[ The retort is more irritated than heated as Yata shakes his hand once more, actually managing to successfully extinguish the flames. He plucks at his sleeve as if to make sure it's still there, whole and intact. ]

I'm figuring it out!

How much of it was on your own?

[Since the fire is extinguished, Chikusa starts to shuffle closer, not apparently in any hurry.]

I found it on my own, didn't I?

[ Yata shoots him an annoyed glance. ]

I'll figure it out! It's mine, right?

[ That's totally logical, right? ]

….That doesn’t make any sense.

[Yata…. Please.]

Eh?! [ Yata sounds annoyed at the argument, scowling at the other guy. ] It does! If it's mine, I'll figure out how to use it! Even if I don't remember how yet.

[ It had worked when he'd picked up the polearm, at least? ]

[He can scowl all he wants, but there's still no visible reaction from the jerk in glasses.]

Isn't it kind of late to say that?
