Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[It's almost a little sad how easily Oona can accept that unquestioningly. It makes perfect sense that she might not know the cookie on sight, right?

Still, she gives the plate a contemplative look, brow furrowed slightly before she reluctantly parts with the cookie, holding it out for Ayu to take.] Only ate fish, before, usually. Did not have these. There is much do not know. [She looks with interest at the other foods, eyeing a few that she's particularly curious about trying]

But, liking sweet things, so far.

[Ayumu takes the cookie from her, making a show of examining it thoroughly from every angle before taking a big bite out of it. After a few seconds of thoughtful chewing, she takes another bite, then another until there's not enough left to make it tempting enough to try to grab back. Only then does she finally answer.]

I think this one's called chocolate chip. It's pretty tasty.

[Oona's interest turns to skepticism again and then a sort of flabbergasted retaliation.] Ah--! Ate all!

[She points at Ayu accusingly, but she doesn't seem that actually angry about it] Tricked me! Typical human! [Oona huffs and pulls the plate closer to her, sulking, but again it seems largely faked; she's really more amused about it and rather reluctantly approving. It had worked, after all.]

Are-- what is word? Sneaky.

[Maybe another person would have been affronted at such an accusation but Ayumu just smiles, pleased. To her, it's a compliment. She picks up easily enough that the woman's putting up a fuss more for show and leans against the edge of the table.]

I only wanted one. And look at how many others you still have. So many different kinds to try.

[Most of them she honestly doesn't recognize. Ayumu is still a newcomer herself when it comes to the wide world of cookies. After a moment, she asks, sounding curious and slightly amused herself:]

'Typical human?'

[MAKES A FACE.] Could ask if wanted one. At least give chance to say 'no'!

[HUFF PUFF GRUMP. She shoves a cookie in her mouth and turns her nose up as if to say 'so there!' The question has her returning her attention to Ayu though, her eyes sharpening with analytical interest, studying the other woman.]

Typical human, yes. Being sneaky and saying one thing but meaning other. One hand out in greeting, other behind back hiding knife--that sort of thing. 'If you speak, will let you go,' 'if you cooperate, will let you go home.' Bah! Lies. [Oona huffs again with more real agitation and eyes Ayu again]

Am in human form right now, but am not human. Am mermaid. Live--lived--in water, in oceans deep under waves.

[The way she huffs is cute and rather endearing, Ayumu thinks. However, as she speaks about humans and more genuine upset comes out, she listens very carefully to her words. After all the time Ayumu's spent on the Far Shore, she isn't particularly surprised to hear the woman isn't a human. It's one more peculiarity in a never ending chain of them. But at least, Ayumu's heard of mermaids before.]

I'm sorry you met humans like that. It sounds like they were very cruel to you.

[It's odd to be talking about something that feels like a personal subject with someone she only just met but something about this woman encourages sympathy. At the very least, Ayumu can understand what it's like to be captured by the enemy.]

Next time I'll make sure I ask first. Would that be better?

[Ayumu's being completely sincere, a rarity for her. Her natural Osaka accent is ringing loud and clear as well. But there's no show of pity on her face, compassion and kindness, yes, but not pity.]

Are humans. Is what they do. [Be cruel, she means. She sticks her nose up in the air with a huff. Oona herself doesn't care about sharing such personal things, and she refuses to lie so brutal honesty is where it's at.

Her attention turns back to Ayu though at the question/offer, eyes squinted suspiciously. Was Ayu making fun of her?? But after a few seconds of scrutiny, Oona has to admit that the offer is legitimate and she relaxes.]

...Yes. Much better.

Name is-- Well. Not pronounced right by humans. Can call me 'Oona.' It is part of name, and good enough.

[It's a good thing Ayumu understands a little about mistrust, she thinks. Suspicion's been deeply integrated in her life for as long as she can remember. Despite her occupation and the way most people see it or perhaps because of it, she values honor and integrity, too.]

'Kay. I'll be sure I do that from now on, Oona. That's a pretty name.

[She is curious what her full name is but she's not going to push it.]

I'm Ayumu Yamazaki but you can call me Ayu, if you like. It's nice to meet you.

Oh.

[She looks a little flustered suddenly by the compliment, twirling her hair around her fingers] ...Thank you. Yes, like my name. Your name is nice too.

[It has a nice way it rolls off her tongue and she grins] Ayu- Ayumu... Yes, like it. You are, eh...god, thing?

[Cute. Ayumu nods.]

Yes, I am. I've succeeded Vesta, a goddess of the hearth. How about you?

[Clearly, she has her memories so Oona must be a goddess like her.]

Eris! Goddess of, eh.. Chaos, and discord, and... What was last one? Oh! Strife!

[She grins, proud to have remembered.] Sounds fun. Will have fun with it! What is 'hearth'?
