Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

It's more than that. I usually work alone too, just me and the tools at my disposal, but having a partner is so much more than that. I literally can't accomplish a mission without Felicia, and I don't even want to think about what'd happen if I failed.

[Death is bad, yes. But the deaths of more human beings is worse than just her. Lara's lip curls up contemptuously as at least one of the gods shoots them a disdainful glance, clearly dismissing them.]

We don't just have a shared mission, we rely on one another as a unit. It's...I guess like being in the army, only way more intimate. And anyone that treats a shinki badly may find themselves in a bad situation where that shinki just stops assisting.

Sorry for the delay! I've been sick and having internet issues ;;;

[Ayumu notices the disdainful look they're being given and returns it with a scathing stare of her own.]

Given our connections to them, it makes sense to treat them well. When they suffer, we suffer with them. It's counterproductive to our duties. Not only can we not slay ayakashi without them, our own health is at risk. A distressed shinki bound to you can make you ill. It's only sensible to prevent such a thing from occurring at all.

[Ayumu considers the military comparison and it's true. And empathy is a crucial leadership trait in her culture.]

We're a unit, a squad. Squads can't function without harmony. As gods, we are commanders, our exemplars are our vice commanders. Each and every one of those roles is important in the work that we do.

It's alright.

[Lara frowns deeper, settling into a combative mental stance, ready to argue with the others but they wave the two of them off with a scoff.]

Exactly. Every unit is only as strong as the whole, and no matter how tough the commander, if he has no lieutenant that works efficiently with him then the whole thing topples down.

So why...make them upset?

[It's appalling to see such ignorance. Clearly, these people have little understanding of what war is like or the horrors it can contain. And the Heavens are at war with the ayakashi. Difficult choices and sacrifices must be made but it seems like the others in this particular group are more concerned with their own comforts than actually protecting anyone. Ayumu doesn't even bother trying to mask her scorn for the others.]

Maybe you see attending a shinki's needs as an inconvenience but the deaths of those on the Near Shore are far more than a mere inconvenience. Leaders have an equal duty to maintain the health of their subordinates. If any one component of the squad fails, innocent civilians could die. Once that's happened, you've failed to complete the objective we all share - protecting the Near Shore along with our followers.
