Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Viktor startled a little at the tone of her voice, but met it with an easy smile. He was completely new to this, so judgment was only to be expected!

"Well, I wouldn't call this using it, really. I'm really just holding it, for now. And I'm not fond of guns, they're far too loud and sudden. They lack any sort of beauty."

Beauty was very important to Viktor Nikiforov, after all. Even when it came to weapons.

"Stab wounds aren't very pretty either," Scully commented.

Although, in his defense, they were going to be fighting some kind of ghost monsters, if she'd grasped this whole "ayakashi" idea properly. Who knew what a sword would do to a ghost?

Who knew what a gun would do to a ghost? She was probably going to be just as helpless.

On the other hand, not every threat was going to be a ghost. She still didn't know why she -- or any of the others -- were here, and she'd heard of more than one disappearance. If there were kidnappings going on, well, Scully was going to feel much more secure about it all if she was armed.

She crossed her arms. "What kind of weapon are you for your god?"

God, that sentence made her sound like she'd lost touch with reality. She winced, and bit her tongue against qualifying it. It made sense here.

Viktor had to hum a little at that. "You're right, they're really not. But neither are bullet wounds, and at least swords are sort of nice looking from an aesthetic standpoint."

He had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. At all.

And yeah, the whole situation was odd, to say the very least. Viktor chose not to dwell on it and tended to simply stay in his god's temple and play with the multitude of cats rather than think about such things. It made his life much easier. That, and the aversion to remembering things made him wary of trying to focus too much on how things worked here.

"A gold medal, if you can believe it! He spins me around over his head and I can lift him off the ground and make a sort of tornado. I've only done it once, but it's a lot of fun!"

He shook his head and laughed, because it sounded like the most ridiculous thing in all existence and likely was.

"How about you?"

"So much for that helping you pick a weapon to use," Scully said. A gold medal. That was... well. Whatever it meant about him (athlete?) it wasn't something he could learn to use, and it wasn't going to do a lot of good to have on hand even if they were in danger from some shadowy kidnapper types.

She blew out a breath.

"I'm a rifle."

"A rifle! That's so perfect for you. Long and lean and sleek..."

Well. He wasn't hitting on her, not really. He was just a ridiculous flirt. Sorry, Scully.

And on the contrary, he thought he could use a gold medal to smack someone or something across the face. That would be pretty effective! And hurt a lot! But the sword was probably more effective, all things considered.

She looks up at him from what is at least half a foot less height than he has. Long and lean, indeed.

... She can't complain about outrageous flattery too much, though. Not when he looks like he's just trying to be charming about it. Instead, she just rolls her eyes.

"Thanks," she mutters, and adds, "Anyway, you'll probably do most of your fighting with your god, so you might as well practice whatever's going to do you the most good there."
leapingchuu: (i sure do)

[personal profile] leapingchuu 2017-03-07 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Pft, height didn't have much to do with it! His assessment was still correct and he'd fight her if he needed to. Well, not really since she'd pretty obviously kick his ass, but he could argue with the best of them.

"You're right, I should. He told me to learn spells, but...well. I like interesting things. Spells would probably be interesting too, though..."
skepticstarbuck: (solitude)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-09 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure they would if you got them to work," Scully said. Spells were significantly more interesting, in her opinion. A sword was a sword. The pointy bit went into the opponent (or, more likely, into a bush, or your own leg if you really didn't know what you were doing and tried to flourish it dramatically.)

Magic, on the other hand, raised all sorts of interesting questions.

"I've been having enough trouble with borderlines."

[personal profile] leapingchuu 2017-03-20 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"I haven't even started with those yet, to be honest! That's likely why my god is so grumpy. Not that he isn't usually."

And Viktor would definitely be the person whose sword ended up in a bush. Once he learned it he'd be fine, which was why he was here, after all. But for right now...nope. Couldn't use it in any capacity whatsoever.
skepticstarbuck: (not again)

[personal profile] skepticstarbuck 2017-03-22 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wait, really? Shouldn't you start with those first?"

Swords aren't exactly practical, but more importantly, they're not even useful against monsters if what Scully's heard is right. And borderlines are supposed to be the most basic spell.

She sighs, and gives the cheerful man another once-over. He's going to get himself killed. He really, really is.

"... I can tell you what I know if it helps," she offers, wearily.
