Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[It's a strange hand, considering - it's definitely got the human shape to it, five fingers and opposable thumb and all, but the skin is rough and coarse like a bird's talon but for the palm, which is closer to the smoothness of normal human skin, and the tips are clearly bird-clawed. There's some light feathering over the back of the hand which gets much thicker going up his forearm, too.

It's kind of nice to have someone be interested but not weird about it, so Davesprite doesn't begrudge her the question, spreading his wings and flapping them to move him rather faster and more precisely than the levitation he'd been doing previously.]

Yeah, I can fly. Couldn't tell you the full list of skills because I don't remember myself, but I know I can move small stuff without touching it and write cool bright orange notes on things from a distance, because that's definitely a useful power to have. [By way of demonstrating the first ability, he turns his gaze to one of the plates on the table, this one with some cookies on it. A faint orange glow surrounds it, and it lifts itself up to float towards Oona's hands.]

Ah! [She lets him go and claps her hands in open delight, smiling brightly.] So-- what is word? Cool! Very cool!

[There's a lot of different questions she has and things she wants to say, but she doesn't know where to begin with it all. So she takes the cookie to start nibbling instead and looks thoughtful a moment before grinning.]

[That's definitely the kind of word Davesprite could have supplied if she hadn't gotten to it first, but when she does, he lets a slight grin slip onto his face.]

Yeah, "cool" is the word you're looking for. I try, though I've had a tragic amount of people who prefer to scream when faced with a neon orange bird guy than think it's in any way cool.

[There's a lightness to his tone that says he isn't worried about the people who scream about it - but it's almost too light, or perhaps deceptively casual.

As for flying too...well, Davesprite has given rides before. His last passenger was a bit smaller than Oona, though, even if he's done Hajime as well.]

Hey, I carry my god around sometimes. Davesprite Air is not entirely out of the question here.

[mermaiding]

Tch. [She scoffs and rolls her eyes.] They are stupid. Humans, yes? Humans always like that.

[She looks interested though, eyes wide and bright] Want to fly too! [She repeats herself and gives his hand a little shake] We can fly, yes? Eh, does not have to be right now. But soon! Fly!

[Well, sounds like this girl has a much dimmer view of humans than he does, though Davesprite can respect that, and he shrugs a little.] Yeah, it's kind of a majority thing with humans, though with so fucking many of them you kind of have to assume the lion's share aren't getting more than a scrap of brain apiece.

[Sometimes, pretending to be an obnoxious intellectual sort has its profits. That point slips his mind when Oona shakes his hand, though, and he gives her a long look as if weighing her up.]

I'm pretty sure I could swing that for you. Wouldn't want to separate you from your precious food table by doing it today, though.

[She laughs, bright and loud, throwing her head back with abandon.] Is true, is true! Ah, like you. You are good. [Did she ever introduce herself? She can't remember]

Name is Oona. Next time we meet, you will take me flying! [Because yeah she's got food to guard here. More important than flying right now.]

[It still feels weird to Davesprite, having people decide they like him so quickly after meeting him. It still makes him want to pull up everything he can think of to prove them wrong, even if he can't remember what he feels would probably be substantially more fodder than what he remembers here. But he takes it with grace enough, and gives Oona a rather casual thumbs-up at the declaration.]

Davesprite, which you probably guessed from the Davesprite Air joke like a minute ago. Assuming next time we meet isn't in the middle of some supreme heavenly fuckery, I will honour the shit out of that particular deal.
