Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

I haven't seen anything like the Z-drive around here.

[To be fair though Ekko's Z-Drive is one of a kind. And more than slightly unstable.]

I've never heard of a Z-drive. What is it?

[...Abruptly, she finds herself reconsidering that question of whether this young man is talking about events from thousands of years ago as though they're happening now.

Any kind of "drive" sounds more modern -- or even futuristic -- than it does Bronze Age.]

[Ekko tugs the thing off of his shoulders and gently places it onto the ground.

A glowing teal hourglass encased in glass with metal at both ends.]

This is the Zero-Drive. Made it at home from spare parts and hextech parts people threw into the dumps.

[That's fascinating. Scully bends down to get a closer look at it, reaching out to gently turn it over in hopes of seeing something that makes more sense.

One thing is for sure: Bronze Age this isn't.]

I've never heard of hex-tech, either.

[As soon as she tries to touch it Ekko tugs it towards himself.]

Sorry, this guy's one of a kind. Plus this place doesn't seem to have the right kind of spare parts.

Seriously? No hextech at all for you? It's everywhere back home.

[Or rather, he lives in the center of hextech produced machinery.]

Not unless it's the name for something I recognize, and that doesn't look like anything I recognize.

[If you break it apart -- hex-tech -- it sounds like magic and machinery. Scully's reaction, when she'd gotten here a week and change ago, would have been that magic is a misunderstanding, and outside of science fiction theories about technology so advanced it looks like magic, misunderstandings don't mix well with machines.

These days, she's softening on the subject of magic.]

But I don't remember home.

So you're a shinki? Uh... sorry?

[He'snot even sure what the proper protocol here is supposed to be.]

It's fine, there's only like... one person who's for sure from back home. And she's from Mount Targon, which is about the least techfilled place you can get.

That's right.

[Scully's expression is the expression of someone who is Done with this whole shinki business: but it's not as if it's Ekko's fault, so she sighs, and adds:]

... Apparently being a shinki isn't supposed to be something you offer condolences for, but I'll take it.

Anyway. Who's the other person?

I'm still getting used to this place.

[He shrugs.]

It's Leona. She's some sort of sun god here.

[skepticstarbuck]

[She nods, thoughtfully.]

But that kind of technology is normal where you're from? Do you know the year?

[He couldn't be from the future... could he? Or, even more bizarre, from someplace alien?

She's seen people casually talk about being from "different worlds." She'd thought it was a metaphor.]

[chronobreak]

It's normal depending on where you're from. Zaun and Piltover use it. But places like Bilgewater and Mount Targon don't really touch it.

And the year... also depends on where you're from. The world doesn't have an agreed upon one.

[skepticstarbuck]

That must get confusing.

[How do you talk about anything if you can't agree on a calendar? That sounds like something from the past again -- or, at least, something from before international travel and communication were simple; maybe not thousands of years in the past, but a hundred or more.

But the technology of his strange glowing device is unquestionably modern, even futuristic.

That leaves only one real possibility.]

Does anything about this world seem familiar to you?

[He looks human... but could he be from somewhere completely alien?]

[chronobreak]

It's not that bad. We don't usually need to agree on when stuff happened. It's usually like, "Meet me tomorrow at the university" or something along those lines.

[He hums as he compares this world and his home.]

The apartment buildings, I guess? These swords still look like they came from Ionia. And people still look like people, so there's that.

[skepticstarbuck]

Architecture, metallurgy, species.

[So, maybe not aliens, after all. And even some of the countries' names are the same. Scully rubs her forehead, warding off a threatened headache, and picks up one of the little pellet guns. She's got to get one of her own, one of these days.]

... Maybe you're from a parallel world.

[chronobreak]

[Aliens? If you're talking aliens that's more like the creepy void creatures that want to devour everything they come across.]

Parallel... Huh. That's a thought. Considering this world's got actual gods in it instead of stellar dragons, I'm inclined to go with it.

... Do you mean your gods were dragons, or there were actually dragons living there?

[Parallel worlds. Right.

That's actually easier to believe than most of this, she thinks. It makes some scientific sense.]

[chronobreak]

I've got no idea about gods, but I'm pretty sure that stellar dragon thinks he's a god.

Seen some actual dragons though.

[skepticstarbuck]

Well, you're definitely not from this world, then.

[...unless there are dragons here, too, and she just hasn't seen them yet. She blinks in momentary uncertainty.]

What do they look like?

Like... dragons?

Big, with wings and reptile-y faces. Four legs. Scaly or slimy looking depending on what kind of dragon.

Well, I didn't think dragons were real.

[That sounds like about the same description Scully imagines, though: big, with four legs and two additional wings. Scaly... or slimy?

It probably won't be relevant, she assures herself, and smiles a little weakly.]

I just keep learning things.

[chronobreak]

Nothing wrong with learning new things, right?

[The ocean dragon is probably amphibious, kind of slimy when it's hanging out in the dragon pit.]

Who knows when it'll be useful?

Not at all. [She clears her throat.] But I hope I'm never going to have to deal with a dragon.

[chronobreak]

They're really not that bad. It can take a while to get them down. Especially when it's just one person, but that's kind of dumb.

Uh... But it doesn't look like there are any around here.

[skepticstarbuck]

I'd rather not have to fight a dragon, so I'm glad to hear that.

[She sighs, and looks down at the swords again.]

... Although if one does show up, I think I'd rather have a big gun than a sword.
