Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[As soon as Homura pulls the gun, Davesprite is drawing the line, because she doesn't seem like the kind of person to wait politely while he drags his ass on that. It seems that in terms of resilience, Davesprite's line isn't anything to be sneezed at - the first bullet impacts the barrier with a sharp crack and a flash of light, and the second with almost identical effect. The line rebounds a little with each impact, but remains solid.]

[There's a pause as she's considers the line for a moment.

It's sturdy- a good start. But how long will it last- a soap bubble is what he said earlier.

She fires off another two shots.]

[It's with the next two shots that things start to get hairy. Davesprite remains behind his line, apparently not ready to give up on it yet, but as the next two bullets impact the surface, particularly the second, the sound is more like that of glass. Specifically, glass that's starting to break.

There's a hard grimace on Davesprite's face as he tries to continue holding the line, but he doesn't think it's going to take the next two shots, even if he's fully confident in his ability to get out of the way.]

[She watches Davesprite and his borderline for a moment. That's a sound she hasn't heard out of a border before. It's getting closer to breaking, maybe.

She shoots it again, twice more and sees if it's steady or about to break apart.]

[The barrier takes the first bullet, and holds...but barely, and the impact is punctuated with a sound disturbingly like shattering. The sound of the first bullet impacting is when Davesprite, faster than blinking, moves from behind his barrier to outside the path of the bullet, and the second one goes straight through the damaged borderline, flying on to hit the fence as the remains of the shield dissipate.

With a remarkably casual glance over at the path the bullet had taken, Davesprite looks back to Homura.]

Yeah, that's about what I was expecting.

[timeshields]

[She looks at the broken barrier and then to Davesprite.]

It's a good thing you're fast.

Should I make the border this time?

[redotiertwo]

I wouldn't have asked you to shoot at me if I wasn't.

[Still chill as ever, or at least pretending to be. It was still a bit rattling getting fired on by someone who's clearly experienced with the weapon.

As she offers to change, Davesprite reaches for the handle of his sword, beginning to draw it.]

Yeah, whenever you're ready.

[timeshields]

[She feels like she doesn't generally shoot at people, but that leaves the uncomfortable question of what it was she used to shoot. That's veering far too close to her life so she'll drop the train of thought.

It doesn't take her long to make her own border, she'll lock eyes with Davesprite once she's finished.]

[As she draws the borderline, Davesprite unsheathes his sword so he's ready when she is as well. When her eyes meet his, hidden behind the shades, he nods almost imperceptibly before again moving fast enough to pass out of sight.

When he reappears a moment later, it's at her border, and he slashes his sword against it with as much force as he can get behind the swing.]

[timeshields]

[The border takes the blow and bounces it right off. Noticeably it seems to shudder under the weight of the attack, but it remains steady for now.]

Another.

[redotiertwo]

[Davesprite doesn't need telling twice, and this time, he delivers two consecutive strikes of similar strength, one coming off the other. He doesn't want to get too eager about it when they're testing resilience and exactly how long they can hold their defenses, but going too lightly isn't going to be any use to her either.]

[timeshields]

[It bends at the second strike. It bounces the attack off, but immediately after it shatters like glass.

That's the most it can take for now.]

Hm... It can last for a while, but not for many hits.

[redotiertwo]

[Lowering his sword to his side, Davesprite looks slowly across the space that the borderline had been taking up. As much as he's not going to bring it up, it's kind of reassuring to know that he's definitely not the only person having borderline problems.]

So kinda the opposite problem I'm having. It probably could've taken a couple more bullets if it hadn't just fucked itself up by virtue of existing.

[timeshields]

[At least they're both having problems- just in two different directions. It's more reassuring than she thinks it's supposed to be.]

What do you think about when you draw yours?

[redotiertwo]

[It takes Davesprite a minute to really think about that, because in all honesty, he hasn't been paying that much attention to it.]

...Protecting my god in a pinch, I guess. Maybe it's so short-lived because I'm focusing on some short-term surprise attack shit.

[timeshields]

Try thinking about an extended fight. Maybe your god can't immediately turn you into your vessel. Your borderline is the only thing that can protect her.

[redotiertwo]

[It's not something Davesprite quite knows the source of, but even the thought of that makes his talons clench. He might be a failure in as many respects of the word as he can think of at any given time, but if it came down to that and Hajime's life depended on it...

Darting back to give himself some space, he draws another line that flashes into existence. It looks no more substantial than the last...but, then again, the substance of his lines had never been the problem.]

[timeshields]

[Her eyes flick down to his talons, even if she doesn't mention it.

Once the line is steadily up she'll wait another beat before shooting it again.

A thirty second pause.

Another shot.]

How is it?

[redotiertwo]

[It takes the first shot as it had last time, with a good resilience and focus to it. The thirty second pause is a little tenuous, but it passes more easily than Davesprite can remember it having done so before, and when the next shot fires...the impact is harder, there's some spidery cracks at the point of impact, but it holds.]

A shitload better than I've gotten it to hold up before this.

[timeshields]

[She inclines her head as she listens. Alright, a small improvement is better than staying exactly the same.]

Good.

[Another pause before she takes the third shot.]

[redotiertwo]

[This time, the bullet sinks in a little before it's stopped, leaving a pit and some more extensive cracking in the borderline, but somehow, Davesprite's still holding it together. Fueling himself with the images of what could happen if he doesn't isn't pleasant, but hell if it isn't working.]

[timeshields]

[Those thoughts are miserable, but they're useful. So as far as Homura's concerned she's managed to help.]

How much longer will it stay?

[redotiertwo]

[It's probably a good thing Homura asked that question when she did, because it's around then a lightening around the edges of the borderline becomes visible, and Davesprite grimaces briefly.]

Not much. Might take another bullet, but that's about it.

[timeshields]

[She holsters her gun for now.]

It's still an improvement from what it was.

[redotiertwo]

[In the meantime, Davesprite continues holding his borderline just to see how much longer he can. It's definitely breaking up, but it looks like he might get another few seconds out of it.]

Yeah. Don't really think putting images of gods in distress in my head is a thing to thank you for, but it's the fucking two-step plan of borderline training if I ever saw one.
