Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[ Anyone who knows Demyx will attest that his talents are, well... limited, is perhaps the right word for it. But borderlines? Now that's something he's got going for him. ]

Yeah!

[ He'll say that, but honestly? Not really. He's probably done it a total of six times, three of which were successful. So, in other words, he's not practiced, he's just lucky. In this one way, at least. ]

[She tucks both of her hands at her side in a show of determination.]

I can do the wall and dagger forms both, and I've been learning some spells too! I'm really excited about it! Can you try to attack me then, and I'll defend against it?

[Good sort of practice, right?]

[ First, Demyx’s head tilts curiously. ]

What’s a dagger form? [ No one has explained this!

Second, he backpedals a little at that request, hands coming up. ] I-I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that... [ He twists his lip wryly, pulling a face. ] I don’t really do attacking and stuff.

Can we try something more... I dunno... un-violent?

[ Honestly, she can probably sweet-talk him into it with a smile or two, but he’s his usual reluctant self, for now. ]

[She pulls at her neck a bit.]

I don't think un-violent is a word... but that would be the wall form instead of the dagger form.

[She very slowly draws a line down to her side and up a little ways, alongside the both of them without hurting either one. Then, up from the ground appears a blue-white wall of light.]

This helps protect us and our gods from whatever's on the other side. Make sense?

[sitarsongs]

[ It is too a word! It's his word! And he loves it, okay? Jeez. Buzzkill. Raining on his parade. Actually he'd probably like that. ]

Ah! Right! I've seen the wall form -- I can do that!

[ He shifts to a thoughtful pose, not unlike The Thinker. ] But what's with the dagger form? Can you show that to me?

[ Then, to clarify -- ] Y'know, without like, attacking me and stuff, I mean.

[pure_radiantics]

[She bumps her shoulder into his.] I wouldn't do that, Demyx.

Alright, I just need to aim at a dummy instead... [And hey she's not even the type to turn that around into a dig at him.]

And... Borderline!

[She uses the same hand position as Borderline, but throws it like a softball out at the training dummy. It unleashes something closer to a curving scythe than a dagger, but Kairi calls it that because she saw someone wielding it closer to their hand like a dagger. This way - throwing it - is easier to show other shinki though.]

[ Maybe she wouldn’t, but apparently shinki attack other shinki around here sometimes, and that’s pretty terrifying. He’ll pass on that, thanks. And of course, Demyx being Demyx, he completely misses that opportunity she could have seized there -- to call him a dummy. Rude.

But he’s happy to watch as she rears back, hurling a borderline like a softball pitch, spearing the actual dummy like a dartboard.

His face lights up like a kid with a brand new toy. ]

Whooooa!

[She smiles brightly at having impressed him.]

Pretty awesome, huh? You can do it too, honest!

[Kairi steps aside and gestures to a spot that would put him in line with another dummy.]

You just have to give it a try - or two.
