Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

Well I can't really explain it either, but I bet it'll just take some practice. Which I can help with, luckily!

[She takes a stance a couple of yards away from him and puts her hands behind her back.]

Would you like to try attacking me and I'll put up a wall to stop you? Or we can try the opposite too, if you like that idea better.

[Kairi's trying to show him that his embarrassment doesn't have to stop him from learning or training. She's still willing to help!]

Eh?!

[ His jaw drops open at her offer and he's quick to lift his hands and wave them frantically. ]

No, I can't do that!

[ Attack a girl? That's not okay! ]

[She interprets this as nerves for someone who's still trying to get it right.]

Oh don't worry about it, I don't mind! We can try until you get better, I promise.

[She holds up her hand to perform the Borderline to show that she can defend herself.]

Borderline!

[And a bright white-blue wall appears, as easy as pie, with Kairi smiling on the other side.]

See? You can just bang on this for a bit and try to get through.

[ At the sight of the Borderline wall erected between then, he blinks and relaxes a little, because that's what it's supposed to look like, right? This being their primary form of defense for their gods? He reaches out, pressing his hand against it's surface for a moment and he can feel it pulse with a cool light. Completely opposite to the heat his own barrier had thrown off.

Tch. How irritating.

He lifts his gaze to meet her eyes through the Borderline, still not looking convinced. ]

How long ca you hold that there for?

[Well, at least he calmed down a little... A little.]

Uh....

[She shrugs.]

I haven't actually counted but... there was one time, maybe a solid 5 minutes while my friend was trying to decide what to do. Another time for at least 2 minutes. I wasn't practicing for stamina those times, I was just trying to protect them while they made some really tough decisions.

[Like whether or not they could hurt some creature that looked like a loved one.]

And it just stays there like that? And keeps things from getting through?

[ Huh. That does sound pretty useful, actually. Not that he can seem to duplicate it. ]

So what am I supposed to do against this? [ He lifts his hand to stare at it suspiciously a moment again. ] I don't know how this works. I don't know what I did.

Well I don't think it keeps everything from going through, but gods and shinki will have a hard time getting through it, that's for sure.

[She taps her chin in thought.]

I bet a Rend could get through it, but we'd need your god or mine around to test that idea out. You could try another Borderline to get through it - like the dagger form instead of this wall form.

[ Since Yata hasn't met his god yet, that's not even really an option. But he had something else in mind anyway. ]

I still don't know how to do a Borderline, but I guess I can do this?

[ He focuses again, expression one of fierce concentration and a moment later Red Aura swirls up to surround his fist and all the way up his arm, the flames licking along his limb but not actually burning him at all.

He smirks, pleased at the sight of it and the fact that he'd managed to do it on purpose this time - and even mostly contain it to where he wanted it.

And then he winds back and punches the Borderline wall with as much strength as he can muster, seeing how his Aura holds up against the shinki barrier. ]

[Kairi instinctively raises both hands to brace the wall, even though she's not touching and doesn't think this will actually help, not really - it's about keeping her focus on the defensive aspect of the borderline when she's been practicing so much with the offensive today.

But his fist connects, and sends a palpable tremor through the borderline that has Kairi opening her eyes wide and gasping a little in shock. Wow. She'd never actually felt something so strong like... like the borderline could break from something like that, if it weren't Yata's first day here maybe.]

[ He senses the way the barrier shudders more than he can see it, and it has him stepping back and staring at his fist for a moment before dousing the flames entirely, letting the Red Aura gutter out once more.

Then he flashes her a sharp, pleased grin. ] Huh. Guess those Borderlines are pretty strong.

[Kairi's a little proud that her training is paying off - and that he sees the value in the borderlines now.]

Actually, Mr. Kazuma said that shinki magic is a contest of wills - the borderlines and other spells are as strong as the shinki who's casting them.

Huh, really? [ He looks surprised. Then speculating. ] You must be pretty strong, then. I didn't even dent it.

Well... [She appreciates the compliment.] Thank you. If you practice, you can be that strong too though. I've been working on it since I got here. Which was...

[She thinks for a moment.] Wow exactly a month ago! To the day even! Roxas and I have done so much in that time though.

You learned it that fast?

[ he looked surprised, then glances down at his hand with a frown for a moment. ]

Damn. Guess I'm going to have to work harder, after all.

I mean... it's just the basic borderline, though - there's still so much I don't know! All kinds of other spells aside from Borderline and Rend!

[She starts counting on her fingers.]

There's Bind, and Silence, and Truth... at least!
