Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[ Hibiki sticks the sword beneath one arm in a resting position. This is changing her opinion of you! Potentially favorably! ]

Did my exhibit fail to sate your desire for me, after all?

[ Normally it's girls who can't get enough, but she doesn't mind. Fans are fans. ]

[ Can't say he's just the slightest bit skeptic, can he? ]

One never learns if one does not ask questions.

[ And there is a lot to learn. ]

It seems it didn't! So please show me some more?

[ Hibiki smirks. Even sniffs a little. ] How greedy.

[ A glance at that gun. What a pity. If that'd been a sword... ]

[ He knows he can use a gun. He's not so sure about a sword. ]

I thought you were the one who mentioned being competitive being a good thing. Or something like that. So I thought maybe I should learn by observing a little first.

A sensible enough conclusion.

[ Hm. This person isn't great at taking hints, but that also means they're indeed in need of Hibiki's guidance. She weighs her desire to return to observing everyone else with the immensity of the favor she'd be granting him. Is he worthy of it?

...Or she could mess with him.

This decision suddenly got really easy.

Hibiki nods to the weapons table. ] Pick a blade.

[ She knows how to handle guns, too - one doesn't break into stardom in Europara and (especially) Pamerica without at least one action movie under one's belt - but swords are more her forte. ]

[ He can take hints. But he's good at ignoring them.

Well, he likes having fun while learning new things, and learning new things is fun so it's all great. ]

Oh! Yeah, okay!

[ So he doesn't really know what the good length of a sword is, in comparison to a body or an arm or..whatever it's measured by. But Something proportionate that's not too big or too small or too light or heavy, right? Give him a minute or two to have a look. ]

Alright, I have one!

Take your position.

[ Hibiki tries to eyeball how far apart they should be - nay, there's no trying about it. She's perfect. She's standing, currently, exactly as far from him as she'd need to be for a fencing bout.

And she's smiling at him expectantly, sword raised in a salute.

What? ]

Oh! Okay.

[ He's not feeling this is very familiar but he does his best to get into a position that he feels is at least sort of right. The Sword feels more or less good in his hand at least, as if he's familiar with swinging things, even if it's not a sword. Huh. Well whatever, that's only useful. ]

I'm guessing I'm not doing this exactly right but despite that I can learn still yeah?

[ Hibiki inclines her head, unwilling to confirm or deny that statement, since it would betray what she's after here - a test, mostly.

That, and making life difficult for him for her own amusement.

But if pressed into a corner to explain, it's a test. ] Feel the rhythm of battle with each of your senses. En garde.

[ She'll grant him this one favor.

She'll wait till he has his sword up before darting forward. Extremely. Quickly.

Has she mentioned lately that she's good at everything? ]

[ Who says that her not confirming his statement would make his life difficult? ]

[ Has he mentioned that he used to be a special ops soldier? Not that he would since he doesn’t remember that, but he still was exactly that. And very talented at it, to top it off.

So while he may not be all that good with swords themselves, he has really good reflexes and experience and great skill in close combat, which enables him to block and parry. Not with great skill or anything, but very quickly and with a lot of strength. ]

[ Oh-ho? Not always a useless idiot, then. Hibiki quirks an eyebrow but doesn't lose her composure, even when blocking and blading her body to one side, the better to get out of the way.

She tries to twist his sword around his, hoping to score a touch on his shoulder. ] Intriguing.

[ He'd at least hope to be a useful idiot, because an idiot he sure is, though he's not stupid, just fun-loving.

He slips to the side, and while she manages to get in a touch it's further from the neck and not as hard as she had intended. ] Yeah? [ His gaze is following her every muscle movement. He needs to figure out how they work in correlation to wielding a sword. ]

In a proper bout, we'd break right now.

[ Since she scored. But Hibiki doesn't relent. She has a feeling about this match. ] But -

[ Here her sword comes again. This time she's aiming right for his chest. ] That's not your objective, is it?

Oh?

[ He falls back, twists the sword in his hand and knocks hers to the side. Flexible wrists he's guessing he might have gotten from using a gun regularly. ]

So what's my objective with it?

[ Hibiki just smiles. ] You're different with a weapon in your hand.

[ She kind of likes it. It's interesting. An idiot whose demeanor changes when armed....what sort of life must you have led? It'd make an excellent screenplay. Got a good hook.

So does her sword, which tries again. He's mostly been blocking, so she's not about to give him a chance to think about going on the offensive. ]
