Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

[Ayumu suppresses a sigh and takes the gloves from him. Just as they were a bit complicated for Sakon to get off, they're proving to be a bit difficult for her to get on in her state of distress and the sake in her system isn't really helping but she's too stubborn and proud to ask for help.

They're a little big on her; Sakon's hands are larger than her own. Once she thinks she's got them on right, she slips the knuckles on again. They fit a little more snugly now with the gloves covering her fingers. It'll be easier to focus on managing the flame without having to worry about the knuckles sliding around.]

Thanks, Sakon. I think this will work much better.

[Ayumu's drop of the honorific is subconscious and she doesn't really notice that she did it.]

No problem!

[He's practically sparkling. He wisely chooses not to say anything about Ayumu dropping the honorific, though, because he's afraid she'll stop if he brings attention to it. It's not like he's used to that sort of thing to begin with. Nagisa always called him "Sako-chan" and Rei tended to take that and tack on three or four honorifics after that because Rei was weird like that. As far as Sakon is concerned, he doesn't need any. He'll use them for people he really respects, but no one else tends to get one. It's probably a little rude, but no one ever seems too mad about it.]

[It's closer to acceptance than she's been capable of for a while. Just as it had been difficult for Ayumu to open her heart to others when she first arrived, believing her friends and family were dead and grieving for their loss, it's been difficult for her to do the same with the new shinki the Heavens had assigned to her. The rapid losses of Axel, Satoshi, and Yusuke in such quick succession had left wounds and they were only now starting to close over and heal.

The grief remained but it was a little less dark, a little less overpowering now, even after this most recent setback. She's still afraid of getting too close or growing too attached only to suffer more heartbreak but she's doing the best she can, she thinks. It's not Sakon's or Ross's fault they were assigned to her during a difficult time and it's not fair to them to push them away because of things that happened before them.

While she's mulling over her thoughts, all too aware of Sakon's jubilant expression, she busies herself with fussing with the gloves. Finally, she speaks, sounding almost shy.]

I was thinking of visiting the Near Shore soon to see if there any ayakashi that need to be put down. Would you like to come with me?

[Of course, she'd need to ask Ross to come, too. Ayumu's still doubtful she can wield such a blade in battle and she's not quite sure what dice can do against an ayakashi but she knows she needs to try harder to make this situation work. Duty is duty and she's just not ready to seek out a nora to assist her.]

Absolutely! Definitely! You can count on me!

[He's practically sparkling again. He really hasn't had the chance to fight ayakashi even though he can't help but feel like that's exactly what he's here for.]

I've been practicing the, um, the line thing!

[He's not exactly spectacular at it, but he's at least figured out how it works. Sort of. Well, he can make a barrier, at least.]

[Even with the careful distance she's been trying to maintain, Ayumu has to admit Sakon's enthusiasm for the job is really sweet. She'd only just been starting to get used to working with a partner and being protected before disaster had struck and it still feels a odd but she's trying to get better at that, too. Constant vigilance and self-reliance are hard habits for her to break.]

Oh? How's it coming along?

[She actually sounds faintly amused. Ayumu's aware of that Sakon's supposed to be practicing right now, same as her.]

I can make it happen!

[He mimics drawing a line, still beaming with pride, but then deflates a little before continuing.]

I don't really know how well it actually works, though. We didn't really get a chance to test it before we started talking about other stuff...

[This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, especially considering the other half of this "we" was Demyx. It's a miracle either one of them got anything done when they were working together on something.]
