Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!



Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.



Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

Well.... not really I don't, no. I'm a pair of gloves when I work with Roxas.

[She folds her hands down at her waist as she says that.]

The only thing I've gotten good at is channeling his Rend spell through them and his other weapon from home.

[Barry grins, leaning on his axe.]

You wanna get to it?

Sure do!

[She draws her own Borderline first like a wall, then stands behind it with her fists at her side.]

Come at me!

Here goes! Uwaaaaaaaaaaagh!

[Barry bellows out a war cry as he goes barreling toward Kairi, swinging his axe wide. His form is improving after his lessons with Dust and Davesprite, but he still lacks speed.]

[Kairi holds up both hands against the wall. She isn't sure she has to or if it'll even help keep him back, but she does it anyway.]

[Nothing to do but go for it. Barry keeps rushing toward the wall at full speed, swinging his axe as hard as he can toward it and trying to break through.]

[Her line holds but not without a lot of effort on her part. Finally, after about 10 seconds, she jumps back a bit and lets the line down on her own.]

Phew! I... I actually felt that! Like... it vibrated or something!

[Barry laughs as he relaxes his posture, nodding back at Kairi with a big grin.]

That's one hell of a borderline you got there!

Thank you very much - I've been practicing hard!

[She raises her hand again.]

Would you like to try and defend against me instead?

Actually, yeah. I'm not as good with the whole borderline thing. Lemme give it a shot.

[Gesturing the way he saw her do earlier, he draws a line between them.]

Like this, right?

[pure_radiantics]

Yep, exactly! Now you have to concentrate...

[She corrects her posture for the actual spell.]

Here I go! Borderline!

[And though she says it, she sends the scythe-like light attack out in front of her towards Barry's wall.]

Whoooaaa!

[He didn't know they could do that! Barry scrambles a bit, but pushes his hands up against his own borderline, trying to drive Kairi's attack away.]

[She's pleased when her attack takes a toll on Barry's borderline wall before eventually dissipating.]

Good job! And you were so shocked too!

[very_goodman]

Yeah, you too! That was pretty impressive!

[Barry laughs as the wall falls down, taking a few steps back toward Kairi.]

Think ya can show me how to do it?

It? [Blink.] Oh, you mean that attack form?

[Yeah she realizes he didn't actually use that to attack her before, did he...]

Sure thing! It's... kind of similar to the other borderline though. Instead of making a wall, you try to make a cut, a slice in the air.

[She shows him the long slice and then a shorter stab.]

I call it dagger form instead of wall form.

[very_goodman]

Yeah, that whole 'whoooosh' thing!

[He smiles, gesturing with his hand. Nothing happens, of course.]

...Huh. Must be harder than it looks.

I found that actually having a target helps! Here, let me get some bottles...

[This is how she and Hakkai had practiced the "don't cut things except what you want to" part of Borderline, by grabbing some empty bottles from the Refreshments area. They'll do for target practice too.]

Here we go...

[She sets them a few feet apart each, five in total.]

Now try! Same hand position, but more... [She slices like a sword in their direction.] Forward than side to side.

[very_goodman]

Oh, hey, good idea!

[Barry helps her set the bottles up, and then steps back to where they were before.]

Okay, so like this, then...

[He slowly twists his fingers into the same position as before, lifts his hand above his head, and brings it down in what looks a little more like a karate chop. The borderline materializes, but whizzes right between two of the bottles.]

Whoa, hey! I did it! Just gotta work on the aim, heheh.

Not bad though!

[She gives him a little clap.]

At least you got a little something! I've seen people just waving their hands around forever and nothing seems to happen.

[She's sure it helps that he had the original Borderline form down pretty well by then, but she also doesn't want to take away from his achievement.]

[Barry beams, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Yeah, I'll work on it at home when Hiyoko's out catchin' dinner.
