Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

I don't think it's a spell but it's definitely magic. Apparently, this was a power Vesta had, passed down to me when I was chosen to take up her position.

[Ayumu shrugs a bit before restarting her sequence of kata from the beginning, this time with her hands still ablaze. Carrying on a conversation while doing this is a good exercise in concentration and control, she thinks. After all, it wouldn't do to burn a war goddess's home to the ground on accident.]

Honestly, I'm not sure how it works exactly. I just decide to make a fire and it works somehow.

[Goddesses of battle generally prefer their homes unburnt, if they have them.]

I see. The mantles of the gods assigned to us here carry strange and unusual powers with them, and I understand that poorly myself. [Which irritates here, to judge by the faint lowering of her eyebrows.]
kagenonadeshiko: (fond; amusement)

[Ayumu makes note of that irritation, the corner of her lips crooking up a little in a sympathetic smile. She's often frustrated by her own lack of understanding of many things this place - the strange magic that governs this place and modern technology in general to name a few.]

First day on the Far Shore?

[Come to think of it, it is about time for a batch of new arrivals, isn't it?]

[Don't even get her started on technology.]

That is correct. I have been given the overview necessary, but certain basic fundamentals of the operations of this heaven still elude me.
kagenonadeshiko: (domestic; hard at work)

[Modern technology is the worst. Except for refrigerators. Ayumu likes those.]

I'm not sure I understand half of what's going on myself but if I can, I'd be glad to answer any questions you have.

I do not believe anyone has an adequate answer to why mantles of divinity are distributed as they are, or why shinki and gods are chosen for their positions. [The Valkyrie shakes her head, the faintest traces of frustration visible in set of her jaw.]
kagenonadeshiko: (watching over you)

[Ayumu mulls that over, thinking back to what the messenger had said to her on her first day. Due to her shock and confusion, much had been a blur that day with little time to process anything. Not that she'd been able to make sense of much in a world and new life so different from her own.]

From what I've heard, our predecessors disappeared, leaving their she followers in a bind. So the powers in charge here used their magic to pull us from other worlds. Some of us were living but others were dead when we transferred over. As for how we are assigned our new roles, there doesn't seem to be much pattern to it.

[Ayumu stops after her next kata, the flames poofing out for now.]

I wish I had more answers for you. I have a theory I'd be willing to share but I haven't had a chance to confirm it yet.

[That book on the history of subterfuge she'd found had been rather enlightening in regards to how the Heavens handled problems. Unfortunately, she hadn't had time to read it to completion but she'd memorized as much as she could before it could be stolen back from her.]

That is what I have heard as well... and yet, you see for yourself how much goes unanswered. It makes little sense, especially to a goddess of fate. Those chosen to be Einherjar, to ultimately ascend to the the heavens, should do so by virtue of the lives they lived...

[And by this point, the Battle-Maiden is so irritated with this whole system that her fist actually clenches, a rare display of pique.]

I would be interested in hearing your theory, however.

There was a book I came across fairly recently. A tome about the history of covert operations within the Heavens. It seems that there have long been rumors of disagreeable gods being disposed of and replaced with more agreeable counterparts. I suspect that we've all been brought here as a result of a purge of some sort.

[It'd been suspicion of hers from her first days here and with how quickly action had been taken to recover the book from her grasp, it's only validated it in her mind. Why go through so much trouble to immediately recover a book unless there was something in it that they didn't want the new gods or shinki to see?]

It's curious that they'd choose souls of those from other worlds rather than ones native to this one. If it was a simple matter of filling the roles with anyone they could, natives to this world would be better suited, I think. So I suspect at least one of the powers that had a hand in bringing us here wanted to take advantage of our disorientation.

[Of course, there's a possibility that Ayumu's simply paranoid, too, but given her background as an undercover operative for her government during a turbulent point in its history , she does have a little more insight in these matters than most, she thinks.]

That they wished to have new gods they thought they could more easily manipulate to suit their agenda seems likely. However, I'm still piecing together exactly what agenda could be.

[Ayumu might spend a lot of time doing domestic work around her temple but she does a lot of thinking, too.]
nibelungvalesti: (what?!)

[personal profile] nibelungvalesti 2017-03-14 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lenneth is silent for a long minute.]

[It all sounds very plausible, truth be told. The gods would do as they must to protect the worlds under their dominion, including asserting their authority over 'lesser' gods. From there, Ayumu's suspicions and deductions seem quire reasonable extensions of that premise.]

They are doing a poor job of manipulating us, if that is so. Unless chaos and confusion serve their purposes.
kagenonadeshiko: (oh well)

[personal profile] kagenonadeshiko 2017-03-15 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps they have an enemy within their ranks, too. From what I read, they have experience working covertly. But someone sabotaging their efforts from within could explain the disorganization.

[It's a serious matter but Ayumu speaks of it very calmly like this kind of subject is mundane discussion for her. In a way, it is though she's considerably more forthcoming with her true thoughts and opinions today thanks to that sake earlier.

And maybe, just maybe Ayumu's sick of never speaking freely about what's on her mind about this place.]

[Lenneth thinks nothing of her openness. The Asgardians are not necessarily the kindest and most charitable gods, ever open to communication and togetherness, after all.]

I see. Yet... who are these gods who precede us and maintain this system? I have met none and have heard from none.
