Who: Everyone!
What: Training
When: Morning June 16
Where: Bishamon's temple
Summary: Training sessions for everyone to learn more about their abilities and jobs!

Many people have been wanting to know more about their abilities and what they are required to do here in the Far Shore. So, in conjunction with Bishamonten, the Heavens have seen fit to offer an open training session for everyone to participate in. Here you will be able to learn anything and everything about what you should be able to do and what is expected of you in your new positions.

Bishamon's temple is sweeping and gorgeous, having previously been home to hundreds of shinki. She has graciously offered to hold this training session and will be available to help anyone who needs it.

Equipment

Various kinds of mannequins and dummies have been provided for practice, as well as targets that are either stationary or move, depending on your will. Punching bags, jumping blocks, and a large pool area have also been provided for your use, so that you can find a tool for pretty much anything that you might need to practice. Plenty of practice weapons of various weights, sizes, and shapes are also available upon request from any of the many white-clad shinki that are also attending today.

God Training

Bishamon herself will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of you. It is also encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Shinki Training

Various shinki are available to help with shinki training, including Kazuma and all of Bishamon's shinki. Additionally, the white-clad shinki will be more than happy to train you on using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is also encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies. Random groupings can be provided by the mods or you may come up with your own groupings together.

Refreshments

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're even just taking a quick break to cool down. The Heavens want you to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Use the state of the art equipment
  • Learn about your job
  • Form groups to practice
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

Sorry, hold up-

[He tilts his head back a little.]

You've met people who 'have a trigger for that sort of power'? Like... can just automatically turn a shinki into an ayakashi? Or you just mean someone cruel enough to tell a shinki something like that for a laugh?

[Sometimes he doesn't follow vague speak.]
revolutionfalcon: (hell if i know)

[Shaking his head, Shun tries to specify the point a bit more understandably.]

I don't mean a literal trigger, but we've already had ayakashi created out of carelessness. It's not impossible that a god with intent to harm their shinki could somehow break through the instinct not to speak and remind them of their death.

[As far as he's concerned, if the instinct failed enough that they had to have the conclave to remind people not to mention that sort of thing around their shinki, it's not failsafe enough to guarantee it can't be abused.]

Remind them of their life, remind them of their death... Geez. So much we gotta be careful of.

[He shakes his head.]

Well... thanks for the advice at least.

[He extends a hand, realizing they actually didn't do the normal formalities.]

Dokugakuji, over at Ksitigarbha's temple.

Being a god can't all be good things. [That's said in a manner that implies Shun doesn't consider being a god to consist of particularly good things anyway, but it's still better than being a shinki as far as he's concerned.

Shun shrugs slightly at the thanks, turning his head slightly in a subtle dismissal of it. While he doesn't start arguments about being thanked anymore, he still thinks it's a gesture more for the person giving it than the person receiving it.

When Dokugakuji extends his hand, Shun eyes it for a moment before extending his own, shaking once in a rather stiff manner that implies it's been a long time since he's had to deal with these kinds of formalities. His grip is still firm, though.]

Kurosaki Shun, or Nekhbet when I have to use the name.

[personal profile] royaltyloyalty 2017-03-23 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Far from focusing on the rigid greeting, Doku focuses more on the name that comes with it.]

Nekhbet? No way - I talked to you on the BBS a couple times. Just didn't recognize your face.

[He pulls back and rests both hands on his hips.]

The Soulless Shinki temple and patrolling, right?
revolutionfalcon: (derisive)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-03-23 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Since that conversation had been a video one on Dokugakuji's end, Shun doesn't have the same issue of recognition, and he just inclines his head.]

I recognised yours, but not being easily recognised is why I don't post videos myself.

[And...well, he does have somewhat more of a reason to pursue one of those topics than the other given one of his more recent conversations, so he crosses his arms and gives Dokugakuji a somewhat questioning eye.]

Yes. How are the shinki you took on from there?
royaltyloyalty: (neutral)

[personal profile] royaltyloyalty 2017-03-26 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, well. I guess I don't mind that so much. I'm the only youkai god around anyway. The only other one is a shinki.

[He smiles though.]

Masaji is what I named her. She and Meji like tending to the lane that leads into my temple. I didn't tell them to. They just do it together all the time.

[He takes it as a good sign, anyway.]

I didn't take more than just her, the one you described for me, but I do swing by the temple to check in on them.
revolutionfalcon: (stopping to think for once)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-03-26 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Given those ears, Shun has an inkling of who the shinki one might be, but it's certainly not anyone he tolerates enough to be bringing up in conversation off-hand.

Shun hadn't actually realised that the only one he took on was Shun's old shinki, though his reaction is only momentary, and it's no more than the faintest hint of surprise. For some reason, he'd had the impression that there'd been more to the trip than that.

It sounds like she's doing well regardless, and Shun nods slightly.]

So it sounds like she's as content with serving you as a soulless shinki can be. [There's something thoughtful about his tone, like this has been a matter he's been lingering on recently.]

I've added that temple to my patrol rounds occasionally, but one person keeping an eye on it only does so much.
royaltyloyalty: (smile)

Wrap?

[personal profile] royaltyloyalty 2017-03-31 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Doku nods slowly.]

That's what I'm hoping for. Best I can do for her.

[He gestures with his thumb in a general direction over his shoulder towards that temple.]

So maybe I'll see you around that way again sometime, Kurosaki?
revolutionfalcon: (distinctly unthreatened)

yeah that works

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-03-31 10:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, Shun is satisfied enough with that knowledge for the moment, and he doesn't have anything else he particularly needs to ask Dokugakuji right now, so he merely inclines his head a little.]

Probably. Or somewhere else around the Far Shore.

[That seems to serve as his manner of goodbye, because once he says that, he turns away slightly, obviously intending to head off despite still watching the other god over his shoulder.]
