[Forrest has never had a sleepover before, so he's pretty excited to host one at his temple. He sends out invitations ahead of time to everyone he can think of, letting them know to bring pajamas, snacks, and even a friend or two if they want. He's clad in a frilly pink nightgown with ribbons and bows for the occasion, and he's temporarily converted Lakshmi's audience chamber into a space where the guests can all party and sleep. It was already mostly full of pillows to begin with, so all he had to do was move some more in and set up some tables for snacks and things. One of the tables conspicuously contains all of his beauty supplies, because like hell is Forrest hosting a slumber party without makeovers. Anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest will get their makeup, hair, or nails done. Soft music and the scent of lotus blossoms drift through the air, creating the perfect atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.]

((OOC: If you've got a teenager that Forrest has talked to more than once, assume he invited them. Friends of friends are totally welcome as well. Everyone can feel free to put up their own toplevels, and everybody tag everybody and mingle to your heart's content!))

So gods don’t really need it (although apparently they can do it for fun) but shinki do… Well, she’s just learning something new every day, isn’t she? At the question, she nods. “Yeah. I’m Wendy. Who’s your god?”

[Yukine’s expression changes to a flat smile when he recognizes her name.]

Ohh. You. With all the questions and bad spelling on the BBS.

[Oh. Oh. The ‘all the questions’ thing she has no problem with, because it’s true and, more importantly, perfectly valid in her opinion. It’s not like they’re given a class on this. However, the comment about her spelling seems to bring about a pause and a blank stare, long lashes batting a few times. After a second, she giggles into her hand before reaching over to pat his shoulder.]

[And, very suddenly, she makes a grab for his ear between two fingers so that she can twist.]

Not everyone has memories of how to deal with that sort of complicated gadget, you know?

Anyway, I haven’t gotten a chance to yet!

[The hand going from his shoulder to his ear is a totally and completely unexpected move.

Yukine hisses angrily and turns his whole body to try and escape the painful twist she puts on his ear. He doesn't know much about hand-to-hand fighting, but he knows enough to try and dig his fingers into the tendons on her wrist to try and force her hand open.]

Let me go, you! It was just a statement of fact.

[The move is a good one that has Wendy forced to let go, although she's pouting as she does it.]

So that makes it not insulting, huh?

That means you didn't have to take it so personally.

[Must be a sore spot for her then.
But not wanting to get caught by the ear again, he doesn't bother adding that aloud. He does take a step back to be out of her reach.]

[At least his obvious attempts to avoid it happening again make her snicker.]

Well, I did, so that's that. Seriously, you meet a girl in person for the first time and one of the first things you say is to insult her spelling?

[That snicker irks the hell outta him, but better than being caught out again.]

What does being a girl have to do with it? If you were a guy I’d say the same thing. [He then waves a hand dismissively before she can counter that.] I know what you mean.

[He’s just not met a girl that needs to be treated so… ‘delicately.’ … When it comes to words, at least. He’d sure not hold back in a physical contest anymore.
But for now, allow him to take the higher road.]

Listen, we should at least try to get along on some level. Things are rough enough around here without having quarrels between ourselves.

[It’s an easy enough thing to say while at this party, with laughter and food inside while fireworks burst outside. However, Wendy pauses after a moment, thoughtful.]

Besides fighting monsters.

Like trying to figure out why you new gods and shinki are even here. Like trying to find the person who is behind all this. Like make sure you guys learn what you need so that you can live here. Just stuff like that.

….Just for the record, you guys are doing really badly on that last one.

[If Yukine were in an anime, for sure there would be a vein pulsing above his head right now, to compliment his strained smile.]

Just for the record, there’s only two shinki assigned to the 80-some-odd of you. You do the math for how well that works. [Which is to say, not at all.] And I helped you out on the BBS, didn’t I.

True… And I said thank you for that, but shouldn’t people get that when they first get here? And only two shinki…

[Crossing her arms and looking like a disappointed mother for all she’s a tiny little thing, Wendy shakes her head.]

What are the Heavens thinking?

[Go turn the disappointed mother shtick on a god. Maybe then they'll get results.]

[She settles down, staring at him intently.]

Again, damned if I know. Depends on what happens, doesn’t it? Maybe we’ll find whoever is behind this and get them to send you all back where you come from. Maybe we won’t and heaven will have to integrate you for the long-term. Who knows.

[She trails off, but. Bro. They're shinki. She's pretty sure that means they're dead as shit.]

[Yukine shifts uncomfortably, his distaste for the subject clear in his expression.]
… I think you should all be in the worlds you belong. It’s not natural for you to be here. But while you’re here, you have this life…
[He then sighs out heavily.] How ‘bout you just worry about it once it happens.
