Shun doesn't appear too swayed by the reminder, though to his mind it just makes him think he needs to work more on getting used to extending himself so it doesn't happen again. Inexperienced. He's been through at least two gods, as far as I know, but apparently neither of them did much with him combat-wise, and he definitely doesn't have any carried-over experience with it even if he seems interested in learning.
