[ Straightening his back, he sits a little straighter in the chair. His lips press together into a thin line as he attempts to think of what he would like to hear in that sort of situation. ]

Being sympathized with by a god doesn't sound appealing to me. [ A small shrug. ] I would rather know that they know my work will achieve something. [ Like he practiced. ] Whether it is a high-class coffin for my loved one or a chance for her to live, I would like to know something will come from what I have done.

To think that everything goes to nothing, that one's determination goes nowhere... that's insulting. Yes, it's much rather to say that there is something going to be given rather than any sort of embrace or pity.
