Summary: So many shrines have popped up! Go visit your homelands!



The Heavens have received reports of many shrines to the "new gods" they are harboring appearing all over the world. These shrines seem to be additional, new shrines to those gods. Older shrines to those gods still exist, but these ones are shiny, new, and way more compatible with the "new gods". God characters, as well, will have felt the sudden pull towards their homelands and be compelled to travel to them. But the Heavens have taken it a step farther, offering the Meeting Hall as a place for gods and shinki to group up and go out for the day to the various places that are now calling out to them.

Please ignore the fact that they are mostly doing this so that you all will collect information for them without their begging for it or having to reward you.



Meeting Hall

The Meeting Hall is being used as a sort of hub right now. Any groups that are planning to meet up and travel together can meet here, but you might also find someone who's going somewhere you'd like to and tag along with them. Additionally, the Heavens have provided packed lunches for everyone to take with them, should they desire to. This also serves as a meeting place for all of the new gods and shinki.

Locals

Local pantheons have been alerted to the impending visitors. They are happy to welcome their brethren home and are likely to make a big fuss about their brothers and sisters staying with them. Local gods are welcome to be interpreted however you would like, just be sure not to NPC any god that is already taken by a god player. Also, you may find yourself running into some local spirits during your sight-seeing - including local ayakashi and various folklore spirits.

Flyers

They may not stick out at first, but those who are paying attention will notice that there are a large number of flyers being left around at their new shrines. Heck, even walking through the human towns, you will find flyers scattered on the ground and pinned to cork boards and nailed to telephone poles. All bear the same message: "Down with the Heavens. Down with Amaterasu." The locals gods are well versed in the flyers, saying that there have been some strange characters around throwing these flyers at anyone who will give them the time of day. Even humans will note that some shady-looking people have been putting up these strange posters.

Destruction

Whether you return early because of boredom, never left because you're uninterested, or late because you've been having fun, the middle of the night will bring an interesting sight to all. The Heavens will find themselves under attack - in the form of a large fire set at the temple of Amaterasu herself. The entire home is going up in flames and no one knows where Amaterasu is. They're asking for help in dousing the fire or even entering the burning home to find the small goddess and possibly look for the saboteurs, though the only people who are still around are Amaterasu's shinki, in varying states of distress and consciousness.

Note: Who will discover Amaterasu will be decided randomly on 3/20/17 OOC. At that point, a follow-up post will be made by Amaterasu herself.

As far as I've seen she doesn't have anything in particular.

[He'd like to say that's a hint to the identity- don't the old gods not care for the newer ones?- but, honestly, there's nothing binding the new gods together, not really. It could go either way still.]

[But that's not the important thing here. Instead, Chikusa is just sort of... blinking.]

Are you going to call him that to his face...?

If you don't do anything, you won't get followers to start with....

[Whups. Blunt and not reassuring at all, probably.]

It was just a basic history. But it felt- familiar. I guess.

[Hopefully Hakkai understands what he means, as a fellow shinki. That realization you know something even as you're getting into it for the "first" time... Knowledge you already unwittingly possessed.]

It's simultaneously useful and.... annoying...

[Sakon snaps to attention, looking a bit too happy about things, given the situation. But Ayumu asked him to do something! Him! Sakon!

She...probably was going to ask whoever had been standing nearby regardless of who it was, but he was the one standing there! It counts!]

Absolutely! You can count on me! Whatever you need me to do, I'll do it!

[ It's been ten days, but ten days isn't a very long time! ]

A bit over a week ago. [ In Kamen Rider terms, this is only his second episode! Well, not that he knows anything about that. ] Clearly Amaterasu doesn't consider it a big enough matter to give the order herself, but do you need that to make a move?

[ That doesn't seem very heroic. ]

You could always ask if you can take more than one. It seems like there's quite a surplus of lunch boxes.

[ He softly chuckles as he watches Itachi take a box. ]

Eh? I suppose I should.

That is a start. There are plenty of fire wielding Gods ne?

[ He curiously cranes his head when Izumo speaks of those who can use fire. Such an ability seems rather common here. Though, he had only really seen Eric use fire. Of course, he's also a bit piqued by Izumo's ability as well.

Ichiru wouldn't know about what was old or new thus he'd probably leave that deduction to Izumo's devices. ]

It seems like the damages are worse the closer we get.

[ He follows with Izumo side by side. ]

Your ability is very unusual.

[ But he meant no insult by it. ]

That is why I asked if you required it.

[ He replied, seemingly unaffected by the snappish comment. ]

Not one for manners are you?

[ True but how could Ichiru possibly pass up the opportunity to learn about new species? ]

Did you fall asleep? It's unusual for you be to so careless.

[ Ichiru continues to stare at Zero curiously for a moment before stepping back. He doesn't know what is going on but he rather not be too close either since being near this person makes him uneasy from time to time. ]

Ehh... it sounds like you do know. I'm rather curious.

[ Yes, they're strangers but tell him your story. The response following earns a chuckle from Ichiru. Chikusa, you're a funny guy. ]

He's not very good at expressing himself, ne? How peculiar. I suppose you must have interested him enough to have him following you around.

It doesn't really make any sense to me, so I don't know at all.

[It's like Zero isn't down for casual theft????? So weird. He even tried to reason with him, but nothing. Tsk.]

He's really bad at it.... so I'd really rather not have his interest. You have his face, so... I don't suppose you'd know of a way to make him stop?

[That's the kind of non-answer Shun was expecting, and though he watches Mikoto a little longer, he shrugs and turns to face forward again.]

I didn't say I needed an answer. Whatever reason or lack of it you have, this is still better than me trying to take on the fire myself.

[Not least because there's one person outside threatening to follow Shun in if he takes suspiciously long in here.

The door to the next room is closed, if badly blistered and charred, and even with the protection, Shun isn't planning to get into the habit of grabbing hot metal door handles. So instead, he pauses for only a second before lashing out a sweeping kick into the door with one foot, ripping it out of the damaged doorframe and into the quietly smouldering next room before he heads in himself.]

[And there it is. Shun's been aggressively trying to pretend it isn't noticeable, but he's pretty sure it's getting to the point where even the most oblivious could pick it out.

That doesn't mean he isn't going to continue aggressively trying to pretend it isn't noticeable, though, and he gives a somewhat dismissive huff.]

Like I said, it's fine. Having two people working on this is better than one. [And then there's a longer pause than he'd usually need as he backtracks, because the mention of tiredness has just reminded him of something else he should probably be telling Fubuki.]

That reminds me, since the newcomers turned up today, I should probably warn you Ren - the one I train with - wants to meet you. He said he'd stay over sometime after we could count on any plans not getting interrupted by something like this. [He waves a hand rather generally at that, because...this in general is pretty much par for the course on arrivals.] It's easier to do after we train, so that'd be in two days.

Given how well they've been covering their tracks so far, I doubt they'd strike this deep just for a mindless violent act.

[The thing with the school and the demon, maybe, but this is Amaterasu's temple. It would have taken extended planning, or at the very least the use of a deeply planted traitor of some kind who would've risked being discovered.

The window at the back of this room says they've reached one edge of the temple, but there's an empty doorway that appears to lead onto another hall to their left, and Shun straightens up to start going that way.]

Well, at least she's not above walking herself, so Shun keeps heading in the direction they'd been going anyway. There's a slight shrug as he listens to her expression of confusion, because it's a bit odd trying to relate to that from the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

"I didn't believe in gods before I came here. I still don't believe we have them in my world. So it's confusing to me anyway, but if you can't adapt to that then it's impossible to function effectively in this place."

Yes, it's been really fun! [Granted, it still isn't nearly as fun as Vanguard, but pretty much nothing ever will be, so he'll take what he can get for now.] I think I learn really well from his style of teaching. Although he can't really teach me everything I'm interested in.

[Sooomebody has somehow missed that Shun has also been trying to pick up swordfighting. Eventually he'll get to be surprised.

But speaking of teaching...he could probably go on about Shun all day, but talking about shun means hearing nothing about how Hakkai has been doing, and while that sure was a subject Hakkai tried to avoid, surely there are some parts of it he'd be okay with sharing. Like the school parts.]

By the way, how has the school be doing?

And I'm not a firefighter, but here we are. [ The Kamen Rider says it like it's the most obvious thing in the world. Still, even if she's grumbling, she's trying to help, so he can't be too critical. ]

As much as I'd like to, I can't stay in the fire much longer than this.

[ Kabuto is tougher than any ordinary human, and even most gods, but it doesn't have any inherent defense against fire. He's already taken his fair share of burns. ]

[Having it be hard to imagine is something Maria can definitely relate to, and she gives a laugh that's not without just a little bitterness to it.]

I thought I'd seen unbelievable things in my world, but yes, it's difficult to imagine a lot of what goes on here when you first arrive. It gets easier the longer you're here. And it's been a bit more quiet recently that it was before that, but we've still been a bit busy.

[She tucks a bit of hair behind her ear, nails rasping against it. Honestly, she kind of wants to forget some of the more recent business they've had here.]

[It's something Maria's had to be reminded of herself before, so it only feels natural to her to pass on the message in situations like this. In the heat of the moment, in the drive to try and help while putting aside all thoughts of your own wellbeing, it's easy to forget that you're not the only one willing to do that.

At Lux's question, Maria smiles slightly and shakes her head.]

I'll be fine. But if you need anything yourself, or any of the people you might save do, then feel free to come to me as well. [And that prompts her to remember she hasn't actually introduced herself - the severity of the situation makes it comparatively unimportant, but if she's inviting this girl to return to her if she needs to, it only seems polite.] Maria Cadenzavna Eve, by the way. A pleasure.

That as well. With those flyers that showed up everywhere earlier in the day, it's safe to assume whoever was responsible for that was responsible for this, but we have no idea who that was either.

[Maria sounds a little frustrated, honestly. She's used to enemies that reveal themselves in dramatic shows of power as opposed to ones sensible enough to actually cover their tracks.]

I don't imagine we'd have any shortage of people who want to help, but you're right, that just makes trying to get them to work together even harder.

[Maria can definitely see why she wouldn't, and she nods a little in understanding, but she does feel the need to express the condition to that.]

Then you'll have to be very careful about yourself. With no shinki at all, it's impossible to defeat ayakashi, the creatures we often have to fight here.
