The best things in life are furry
Who: Yurick and Yuri Plisetsky
When: July 4th (IC)
Where: Outside Bastet's temple
What: Looking for a kitty to adopt!
Yurick adores Satan, he really does. The Pomeranian is affectionate with him, sleeping at the foot of his bed every night and playing with Sora's dream eater when the shinki needs some quiet alone time. But there's something about a dog that doesn't completely mesh with his sensibilities, and besides Yurick is constantly reminded of Kuroko (and by extension Arikado-sama) every time he looks at the fluffy creature.
That's not helping his lingering negativity, which only seems to be growing rather than healing. He'd brought himself to the fringes of the sleepover and other meet-ups between Sora and Roxas, but at the last moment he'd vanish without ever meeting his god's blond paramour. Seeing them together brings up unpleasant feelings he doesn't recognize, yet they still somehow seem uncomfortably familiar like a foul sort of deja vu. Worse is the tightness in his chest when he's with Sora and Roxas isn't around, accompanied by the kind of guilt that's sure to sting Sora just enough to hurt without severe risk. Doesn't that just make him the best shinki?
And then he's Sora's only shinki. The guilt finds a partner in anxiety and together they strangle his heart. His presence makes people disappear, he's now positive of it.
He wanders aimlessly on his walk with Satan, letting the dog lead him wherever the tiny beast pleases. Only when the Pomeranian yaps at a couple of cats does Yurick startle out of his reverie, staring at the silent, sleek creatures that seem to be everywhere around the temple. He's like a cat, isn't he? They'd understand each other. He'd never get rid of Satan, but perhaps if he surrounds himself with cats as well-- with living beings that will love him unconditionally-- he'll feel less alone and maybe stop tormenting himself in his head.
"Will you forgive me if I adopt a cat, Satan?" He crouches down to pet the dog, who pants at him and licks his fingers as if in acceptance. "Or three?"
Time to see if Satan can get along with cats, and if the master of the temple will allow him to adopt one of the many strays here.
Not the tiger, though. Definitely not one of those.
