This is a lighter garment known as a yukata. It is made of lighter fabric than the kimono area, for breathability in summer months. Noble men and women of all dispositions dislike wearing our full kimono during this time, but it is the way of things in formal settings.

[Mercifully, the festival will go into night-time, so she knows it'll be cooler by the time they expect her to make an appearance.

Her meal is grilled salmon, white rice, miso soup, and strawberries. Thus, for Forrest, she scoops out some of the miso soup for him and offers that, before also giving him a small dish of strawberries like hers. ]
