[ Usually games were all about luck and chance, and while that might be true in most instances, at festivals like this, there was always that one stall that wasn't quite on the level. The one where, no matter what anyone did, they could never seem to win.
Long story short, it's a good way to make money hand over fist.
But there seems to be a crowd forming around the stall, for the Chosen One has apparently arrived. With a small pile of prizes beginning to form, there appears to be someone in a multicolored kimono sitting at the bench, a look of deep focus creasing her brow.
The booth owner stands there with a somewhat perturbed smile on his face, his thick arms crossed as he watches this tiny girl fleece him.
Legitimately fleece him.
There was no cheating here; just a woman who, after stalking the booth perhaps a lot longer than she really should have, figured out the trick and was going to unmask this cheating cheat for what he was. It was a desire bordering on obsession. And, well, part of it was the thrill of competition.
Okay, a lot of it was the thrill, let's not fool ourselves here.
But it looks like things might turn sour fast, judging from how the booth owner's smile seems to fall a little more each time he has to hand her something new. It might be a good idea to drag her away... ]
[STALLS PT 2]
[ So somehow she manages to make it away from her new obsession the game area unscathed, and with quite a few new friends. The toys she's managed to win thrown into a bag, it would seem the shinki is finally realizing that her need to unmask the cheater for what he is might not have been wise.
What in the world is she going to do with all of this? It's just going to clutter up the church... (Well, maybe she would keep one of the larger ones for Timcampy to sleep on, at least)
Oh look, it's a person, and their arms look miraculously unencumbered by strange, brightly-colored plush animals. How fortuitous. ]
Excuse me.
[ Lux is all smiles as she approaches with her little technicolor sack, like she's some strange Santa Claus. Only smaller, less round, and with a sunflower in her hair.
Swinging her bag around, she pulls out some random animal(?). ]
Here! Happy Tanabata!
[ It's a thing! She might actually know what it is! (Spoilers: no she doesn't.) ]
[CLOSED TO ROXAS]
[ Sometime after she's off-loaded at least most of her spoils of the evening (she's kept a couple for gifts; someone has to like... whatever this is, the blond shinki finds herself at a pavilion not too far away, a few slips of colorful paper sitting in front of her.
A pen in hand.
Not writing.
In fact, she looks a bit uninspired, a hand rested at her cheek as she sits deep in thought, turning ideas over in her head. These were like prayers, weren't they? Or at least similar? ]
Is it all right to do this..?
[ She isn't talking to anyone in particular, but it is loud enough to be heard. ]
[CLOSED TO GOTEN]
[ Okay, so writing down wishes, as arduous a task as that proved to be, over with, Lux proceeded to the next "stop" of her festival tour: Food.
She wasn't a big eater per se, but the odd thing about being a shinki, the smell of it was beyond tantalizing. Her stomach roaring to life, demanding some kind of penance for walking around so long without trying anything, Lux flits about from stand to stand, looking to see what they have.
Everything seems so interesting, and admittedly, she's distracted. Sorry, Goten, hopefully you're watching where she's going, because the blond was about to barrel right into you. ]
Ah—!
[CLOSED TO ALLEN]
[ On the sixth, he would find something slipped under his door. A simple note in a light blue envelope, written in what would be familiar handwriting to him. ]
Allen,
I have heard that festivals are best celebrated together, and as this is my first, I want to make sure to remember it fondly. Won't you join me?
Lux
The details for where and when he would find her are unsurprisingly well thought out. Late into the evening, in what would be a somewhat secluded area near a stream. And when he did choose to arrive...
A large lacquered box sat beside her, alongside two other containers filled with some kind of round treat. There were a few other things sitting there beside her—what looked to be slips of paper and... were those some kind of fireworks? A lantern light sits at her other side.
Her back turned toward him as he approaches, she doesn't seem to notice at first, her chin tipped upward as she looks at the stars. Ah, it was getting a bit late... ]
