With Tanabata drawing close, the Heavens have decided that there is nothing wrong with a little celebration for the annual occasion. So they have invited everyone on the Far Shore as well as a large number of people from the Near Shore to attend a festival for Tanabata. Tanabata festivals are not uncommon in this area, so the Near Shore residents are none the wiser, though some of them are a little uncertain about where this street they've never heard of popped up from...

Tanabata is a festival held to celebrate the one time a year that the lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi can meet across the vast expanse of the Milky Way. Many birds have been working their tail feathers off to create a bridge for the two lovebirds and that bridge - perhaps unsurprisingly - touches down on this street, in the middle of the festival.

The Heavens have prepared entertainment, food stalls, and as many tanzaku as might be needed for everyone to write down wishes, along with plenty of bamboo stalks to hang the wishes from.

New arrivals will find themselves ushered to the festival and offered traditional clothing after their normal briefing at the Meeting Hall.



Stalls

There are festival stalls of every kind present, all run by shinki dressed in white robes and bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. Many of them seem a little bruised still, but they are happy to smile for anyone who comes to the stall they are running. There is food, games, and drinks available of all kinds, so feel free to roam around to your heart's content sampling everything that you can.

Performance

A large stage has been erected at one end of the festival street. The Heavens know that there are many talented gods and shinki present, so they are more than willing to clear spots in the scheduling for those people to perform. Anytime a Far Shore resident isn't on stage, there are plenty of Near Shore acts to go on, ranging the gambit from traditional music and instruments all the way to a rock band that has somehow found themselves here for the celebration.

Wishes

Pieces of paper called tanzaku have been strewn about a number of bamboo shoots all over the festival. There are brightly colored decorations on the bamboo and the papers themselves exist in every color of the rainbow as well. Attendees are encouraged to write down any wishes they may have and hang them from the bamboo, a normal Tanabata tradition. Wishes can range from 'I want a soda' to 'World peace' and anything in between. Obviously, some of these wishes may not be able to be granted during the time of the festival, but gods and shinki alike are encouraged to answer any wishes they can as well.

NOTE: Please report any wishes your characters answers to the first comment on this post along with a link to where the wish is answered. There will be small bonuses awarded for answered wishes.

The Bridge

As stated previously, the bridge that will allow Orihime to meet her lover touches down in the very center of the festival's street. It may be made of tiny pieces, but the bridge itself is sturdy. While it may not be able to take just anyone who sets foot on it across the Milky Way, you are allowed to walk along the bridge yourself, though you will always find yourself turned around after a short time and heading back towards where you stepped on. Lovers in particular are encouraged to walk the bridge together to deepen their bonds, but be cautioned! If you walk onto the bridge with someone, you might start feeling affectionately towards them even if they are your sworn enemy! Such is the power of love on this day.

Persephone? [Tsuna feels he has heard of her in school, but his memory is vague. To be the goddess of spring and sometimes the underworld seems kind of odd.] Why is it that you govern the underworld? Part-time?

[His manly sounding name?! Tsuna puts his hands waving them about in denial.] Well it's the name fifth shogun of Tokugawa dynasty, but he isn't considered manly or very important at all. So I guess it is fitting.

[ Even his name is full of fail!]

So Tsuna is fine. Tsuna-kun as well, if you don't mind me calling you,Sakura-chan? And I am a god. Vulcan the god fire, metalwork and the forge. [Not to mention the ugliest god in the Roman Pantheon.]

Well then, that means Tsuna-kun will just have to prove everyone wrong about all of those negative things! If you do your best, you'll be able to do it! I can just tell! And Sakura-chan is just fine!

[ When he questions her about her goddess, she hums. ] Persephone was kidnapped by the god of the underworld, Hades, and she had to marry him. It's kind of scary...

I wonder if Hades is here! I bet he's kind of scary...

But I've never heard of Vulcan... but the god of fire sounds amazing! Metalwork and things like that are very important!

[ Tsuna can always use encouragement. Sakura didn't really know him, but she has such faith that he isn't some loser. Either way, he doesn't want to let her down either.]

I'll do my best, Sakura-chan.

[ As she goes on to talk about her goddess, Tsuna's face goes wide and he gives her an incredulous look.]

EEEEEH?!K-KIDNAPPED HER?! AND MADE HER HIS BRIDE?!

[This Hades god did sound scary, especially since he's able to get away with it. He didn't want to jump to conclusions about the possiblilty of Hades being here, or what type of person they might be. After all, Sakura and he seem pretty normal to be deities. Maybe this person just had that misfortune of being the god of the underworld?]

He does sound scary, but maybe you can give them a chance. There's a high possibility they could be someone like us.

[Tsuna didn't know, but he did want to give this person the benefit of the doubt. He then scratches his cheek.]

I never really heard of Vulcan either, but there must be some people who still worship him. I have relatives from Italy, so maybe he means something to them. [Maybe that's another reason he was chosen to be this god.]

Hopefully! Once I meet them, I'll be able to see for myself! Vulcan, being a fire god and mighty forger sounds a little scary, but Tsuna-kun is such a friendly guy!

Let's make sure to be good gods. But first...

Who's 'Kyoko-chan'?

Well I plan to try my best!

[ Tsuna is assuming that Sakura really didn't see all of his wishes. But he's wrong. Dead wrong. Somehow at the mention of Kyoko, Tsuna freezes up. His face turns red, and he starts stuttering like an idiot.]

K-K-Kyoko-chan?! S-she...well...she is...! D-don't get the wrong idea! W-we're just friends!

[Lies!]

A friend that you must really like.

I bet she's pretty!

[goeshyper]

Yes,I really do like her. [This conversation is making him even more hot around the collar.

Though he can't resist speaking good things about Kyoko, when Sakura is positive she's pretty.]

She's very pretty, popular and kind. Just seeing her smile energizes me. She even handmade this good luck charm for me. I carry it everywhere I go.

[Tsuna searches the sleeve of his yukata for it, and he pulls it out to show Sakura. It's a small blue omamori with an embroidered tuna fish on it.]

It's good, though! That you have someone like that back home!

Then I'll make the same wish for you! [ And she's turning away, taking a pice of paper and pencil and scribbling her wish on it. ] 'I wish that Tsuna-kun's Kyoko-chan doesn't get a boyfriend!'

Oh, and let's add more!

'If Kyoko-chan somehow ends up here, I wish that Tsuna-kun has proven himself to be a mighty and handsome god so that she'll be super impressed with him!'

S-sakura-chan? [ Somehow he feels a bit of sadness from her. He doesn't quite know the reason for it. Just the small hint that she lost that same feeling he has toward Kyoko. He wonders what happened, but it doesn't seem as if Sakura wants to talk about it.

Still he feels slightly guilty for bringing up any bad memories for her.He rubs the back of his unruly hair, restlessly.]

I guess I got a little carried away.

[ He tries to talk her out of it, but Sakura is already writing down her wishes! After she's done, he's even more embarrassed by them. The gesture is really nice though, incredibly nice despite that sadness he feels from her earlier.

He sighs, feeling he's doing her an injustice by trying to deter her.]

[He smiles, genuinely happy for the first time since he's arrived to this world.]

Your wish? Sure! You were trying to meet the other Greek gods and goddesses, right? I can try to help you find them.

Unless there's something else you need help with? [Tsuna's kind of oblivious, sometimes.]

I wish that Tsuna-kun and I can be friends!

[goeshyper]

Y-You want to be friends? [ He points to himself to confirm.] With me?

[It's not everyday that someone is willing to be his friend without any fighting. This is actually really refreshing.

He smiles, nodding his head.]

I'd like to be friends with Sakura-chan, too. But I guess we have to make it official.

[ Tsuna writes out one more wish, "Sakura-chan and I will be good friends!" It's kind of lame, but he feels it's in his power to grant. There's something gratifying of putting it in writing. He hangs it on the bamboo tree.]

Your wish is granted.

[ Here, have a really cute girl give you a hug. ]

You're the best, Tsuna-kun!

[ Tsuna's not quite sure what to do! So he just freezes up, red in the face, trying to not making any sudden movements.]

[magickmistress]

[ She gives him that warm and soft hug (cause girls are warm and soft!) for a little longer before pulling away from him. She's oblivious to how embarrassed he is. What a pair. ]

I'm sure we'll be great friends!

[The hug feels like an eternity, except it was really short in actuality. Definitely, soft and very warm. He notices a slight floral scent coming off of Sakura (Adolescence is really hard on a guy!). So when she releases him, he tries to keep his cool.Though he still has a slight reddish hue to his face.]

I hope so! Please let me know if you need any help with anything. If Sakura-chan ever needs me, I'll definitely be there.

I'll be sure to be there for Tsuna-kun, too! [ She's happy. She's new here and she already made a great friend, she can just tell! ] But instead of thinking about home, you should try and have fun at the festival! I know I'm going to!

I'm sure when my family and friends see me again, they'll want to know all about my adventures! [ Would they come to know her as a goddess...? That was something she'd have to find out, one day. ]

[ He couldn't help thinking of home, but Sakura is right, he should try to enjoy himself. He's a bit of worrywart, but he does feel a bit more enthusiasm thanks to Sakura's positivity. He will try to take this whole thing in stride.]

You really think we'll remember all of this when we return home?

[Tsuna probably wouldn't tell anyone though. He didn't need more a reason for people to come after him and his family. Plus no one will actually believe he's an incarnation of a god. People already have a hard time picturing him as a mafia boss. Heck, he can't quite see it himself!]

Mmm... I don't know! I don't know if we'll return home, though... if we've become gods...

There's a much better chance that everyone will end up here... so I'm going to prepare myself in any way I can!

Hoooeee, maybe if I'm lucky becoming a good goddess will make me pretty!
