Who: Everyone!
What: Tanabata Festival
When: All day July 5
Where: The Near Shore
Summary: The Heavens are throwing a party and you're invited!
Edit: OVERFLOW is here!

With Tanabata drawing close, the Heavens have decided that there is nothing wrong with a little celebration for the annual occasion. So they have invited everyone on the Far Shore as well as a large number of people from the Near Shore to attend a festival for Tanabata. Tanabata festivals are not uncommon in this area, so the Near Shore residents are none the wiser, though some of them are a little uncertain about where this street they've never heard of popped up from...
Tanabata is a festival held to celebrate the one time a year that the lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi can meet across the vast expanse of the Milky Way. Many birds have been working their tail feathers off to create a bridge for the two lovebirds and that bridge - perhaps unsurprisingly - touches down on this street, in the middle of the festival.
The Heavens have prepared entertainment, food stalls, and as many tanzaku as might be needed for everyone to write down wishes, along with plenty of bamboo stalks to hang the wishes from.
New arrivals will find themselves ushered to the festival and offered traditional clothing after their normal briefing at the Meeting Hall.

Stalls
- There are festival stalls of every kind present, all run by shinki dressed in white robes and bearing the golden chrysanthemum of Amaterasu. Many of them seem a little bruised still, but they are happy to smile for anyone who comes to the stall they are running. There is food, games, and drinks available of all kinds, so feel free to roam around to your heart's content sampling everything that you can.
Performance
- A large stage has been erected at one end of the festival street. The Heavens know that there are many talented gods and shinki present, so they are more than willing to clear spots in the scheduling for those people to perform. Anytime a Far Shore resident isn't on stage, there are plenty of Near Shore acts to go on, ranging the gambit from traditional music and instruments all the way to a rock band that has somehow found themselves here for the celebration.
Wishes
- Pieces of paper called tanzaku have been strewn about a number of bamboo shoots all over the festival. There are brightly colored decorations on the bamboo and the papers themselves exist in every color of the rainbow as well. Attendees are encouraged to write down any wishes they may have and hang them from the bamboo, a normal Tanabata tradition. Wishes can range from 'I want a soda' to 'World peace' and anything in between. Obviously, some of these wishes may not be able to be granted during the time of the festival, but gods and shinki alike are encouraged to answer any wishes they can as well.
NOTE: Please report any wishes your characters answers to the first comment on this post along with a link to where the wish is answered. There will be small bonuses awarded for answered wishes.
The Bridge
- As stated previously, the bridge that will allow Orihime to meet her lover touches down in the very center of the festival's street. It may be made of tiny pieces, but the bridge itself is sturdy. While it may not be able to take just anyone who sets foot on it across the Milky Way, you are allowed to walk along the bridge yourself, though you will always find yourself turned around after a short time and heading back towards where you stepped on. Lovers in particular are encouraged to walk the bridge together to deepen their bonds, but be cautioned! If you walk onto the bridge with someone, you might start feeling affectionately towards them even if they are your sworn enemy! Such is the power of love on this day.

In Summary:
- Enjoy the festival
- Watch some quality entertainment
- Make and/or answer wishes
- Meet Orihime
- Traverse the bridge
- Have fun~

He jumped at the abrupt action, not expecting anyone stick their hand in the water!] EEEEH?!
[He looked up at the person who's staring down the stall owner into submission. Tsuna's eyes widen recognizing the disciplinarian. Hibari-san is here?! Tsuna continued to stare at the other as if not sure if he's real or not. Finally Hibari turned that intimidating gaze over to him, and the brunette visibly flinched.
It didn't seem as if Hibari recognized him, but he's not giving him the same hard stare as the stall owner. Though Hibari mentioned that he was weak, and that was probably why he accepted Tsuna as a nonfactor. So he was safe for the moment.
Tsuna still mentally retorted:Says the one who just cheated!]
S-sorry for being weak. Though I don't think, I could catch a goldfish with my bare hands, even if I tried.
[ Tsuna's unsure how to handle this situation. Pretending he didn't know one of his guardians was hard. Hibari being one of his scarier guardians didn't help either. Though, he kept telling himself it was to protect Hibari, he didn't want to cause him,or anyone, needless despair. If...the cloud guardian ever felt such an emotion.
Tsuna timidly held up the paper net toward Hibari.]
C-could you tell me the trick, then?
no subject
You're an idiot because you're still relying on their rigged up rules and system, thinking you can somehow blindly stumble around and they'll feel sorry for you.
[So of course what he did was like lightning, snatch another fish out of the water with his hand, depositing it quickly in a bag for Tsuna, glaring at him until he took it.]
Pathetic.
no subject
So he really doesn't remember?
Before Tsuna could say something in response, Hibari was already diving his hand back into the water, plucking another fish out of the pool and bagging it. When his cloud guardian offered the bag to him, fixing him with a stare, Tsuna nervously accepted it.]
I don't expect anyone to feel sorry for me. Even if it's rigged, and I stumble, it won't be satisfying unless I overcome it myself.
[He then looked at the goldfish that Hibari gave him, swimming around in the small confines of the plastic bag.]
B-but I guess I am pathetic. T-Thank you for this.
no subject
A lot of you gods say that, and what do you do? Vanish into the night like cowards because you can't even stand fighting me face to face. Are you sure you of all people should be saying that to me?
[It was over the course of seeing no shinki mark that Hibari had guessed he was a god at all, and even that, it was a thin ground to walk on. Still, he didn't get the far without being suspicious of everyone.]
I did it for the fish. It doesn't deserve being in a cage.
no subject
Though Tsuna did swallow a bit thickly. Was Hibari trying to provoke him into a fight? It wasn't uncommon for him, and Tsuna somehow expected it. There have been times he had clashed against Hibari, but there was either some intervention that prevented their fight from continuing. Perhaps that was for his sake, since Hibari was a fearsome opponent.
He was surprised that Hibari figured out he was a god, but his guardian probably was already well situated in this world.]
I-I'm a coward, but not because I won't fight you. I don't know of the other gods you've dealt with, but I'm different.
[ The only difference was that he knew Hibari, and Tsuna knew that fighting was a huge part of who he was. Protecting that pride of his was liberating for the disciplinarian. Tsuna can only know that being the sky that allowed the cloud to roam freely. He never stopped Hibari from fighting unless it was between his friends, and he needed to interfere. Though it's because of that fighting ability and resilience that Hibari's been such a reliable member of his family.
At the mention of not keeping fish within a cage, Tsuna thought up an idea. Hibari definitely had a soft spot for animals, no matter how small,or weak, they were. Despite the murderous aura, he was still worried about the fish.]
...I'll fight you, on one condition. Help me free all of the fishes.
no subject
Still, at what the little mouse god said, Hibari just gave him a pointed look like he didn't believe what the boy said. He didn't; whatever scraps of faith he had left in people had been pretty much destroyed by Schuldig and all the other gods he encountered.
Even if he seemed harmless, it could all just be a trap. Hibari took a step back, and if he were a cat, his fur would be puffed up.]
Trying to parade around you're the champion of the undesired? Why would I even fight a coward and weakling like you? Leave me alone.
[And he just turned away from the kid. He just confirmed he was a god, which meant Hibari wanted nothing more to do with him.]
no subject
Of course, his lame ploy to get closer to the cloud guardian backfired. Tsuna should have thought as much. Even back home, Hibari never really paid him any mind until his involvement with Reborn. Even then he seemed more fascinated by the baby hitman than himself. He just wasn't what Hibari considered to be his prey. A coward and weakling, well that was Tsuna in a nutshell. But champion of the undesired? That's really harsh!
So when the other turned away from him, he really felt as if Hibari was going to slip away. They weren't best buddies, but they didn't have to be. Hibari has always helped him one way or another, and Tsuna has come to rely on his support. He was an important addition to his family. It wouldn't be complete without him.
He held up the bag with the fish inside, watching it swim about.]
I'm...no different from the goldfish. They swim away from anything that comes close, and you can easily squish them in your palm. Though, they will fight to live if you take away their air.
[Tsuna wasn't really good at convincing people, so he'll take this defeat for now. He was just happy to know one of his comrades was here. Even if Hibari didn't remember him, the prefect's presence in this world was enough. If he failed to befriend the other now, he'll definitely try to cross paths with him again.]
I'd rather not go up against someone like you. But if I must, I will. For now, I will be grateful for the fish.
no subject
He'd actually looked surprised when he saw Hibari for the first time. Surprise like he actually had seen the shinki's face somewhere; he couldn't let something like that go. Besides, he was being annoyingly persistant about being weak.]
The more you speak about how weak you are, the less anyone is going to believe that you actually want to fight back. Or do you get your kicks out of being so helpless?
This goldfish still lives even after people treat it like a prize and a tool. You have no idea what kind of strength that takes to endure.
[Tsuna could probably get the feeling he wasn't talking about the goldfish anymore.]
