What: Hibiki won hot spring tickets. This is what passes for a training camp in CelePara.
Warnings: Bathing, so, nudity. Elitism, bad decisions. It’s a log with Hibiki in it.


[ A private overnight at a hot springs resort is the only part of Hibiki’s grand prize from the shopping district lottery she’d wanted. Rather than go completely by herself, however, she’s invited Natsuru, Kuroyukihime, Venus, and Wendy along - one part reward for Tanabata, one part Important Training. The more elite atmosphere to which Hibiki can expose Natsuru, the more the girl will be influenced! The more refined Japanese environments in which Kuroyukihime finds herself, the more she’ll grow into the motifs bestowed upon her by the god in whose temple she resides!

Venus and Wendy are, of course, here to make tea. Hibiki is making a special exception and drinking only green tea this trip - that’s the role - but the frequency with which she requires this beverage merits having her own supply on hand in addition to the inn’s.

The hot spring has been completely reserved for their group. This wasn’t quite what had been written on the tickets, but Hibiki went out to the casino, exerted her sensitivity to the number 1, and then booked the whole place herself the next morning. This means they have far more rooms at their disposal than they need, should anyone happen to have overheard plans about this trip….and the hired help is unlikely to notice any extra guests from the Far Shore….

….Granted, if you aren’t currently working with her, Hibiki will not be pleased to see you. But who cares? Hot spring!

Yeah, but this- [She reaches over to tap Luna's nose.] -is different. It's Hibiki's big thing! We need a Luna's big thing.

[So be thorough on a subject she knows nothing about. Right. Still, she follows Hibiki's gaze, trying to see if she can see even half of what she sees.]

Seasonal.... So that means you can find a lot of them around this time. [Oh- she tilts her head to the side.] And so that makes you think about that particular season a lot? Or the feel of it or.... something like that.

[ Actually, she probably did see her name, though maybe she hasn't put two and two together yet.

Because Ram really just does whatever she wants, when she's not under someone's thumb. ]

[Hearing the singing from inside the room as she passes by, the other tall, blue-haired shinki finds herself drawn to find out what's going on. When she steps inside, there doesn't seem to be anyone else there. Just Tsubasa, singing that song on the microphone.

She's actually kind of stunned at the performance, and wonders if maybe this girl is another idol that Hibiki invited? Whatever the case, Natsuru quietly stands off to the side and watches in awe. The lyrics are... intense, but she sings them so beautifully. She hopes she'll be able to perform like that, the more she practices...]

[ Hibiki nods along with Wendy's reasoning: good girl. ] I said transience was important, didn't I? Specialized dishes and celebrations for each part of the year make each passing month worth commemorating.

[ A marvelous arrangement, really. Mindful. Refined. But they've appreciated their lunch plenty, she thinks. Hibiki prepares to begin. ] Start here.

[ She indicates the portion that would have come first, if this had all been delivered in courses as per usual. ]

[ Wow, it's not like Ram can't take a hint. She gets what the other girl is trying to say, even if she's being so very coy about it. What a shame, some girls just don't know how to speak their true feelings. ]

I suppose I will share some of this sake then.

[ Where did that bottle come from? Should she had alcohol in the hot springs? Who knows, and probably not, but that's not stopping her from pouring the bottle into two saucers for them to share. ]

WHAT ABOUT THIS SITUATION MAKES THAT RESEMBLE AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE?! FOR THAT MATTER, WHY DO YOU EVEN--

[ No. Losing her temper is useless against an idiot of this potency. (That, or Hibiki has found herself at a loss for words.)

She turns around with a wave of her hand and a slosh of the water around her legs. ] Immaterial. Remove yourself immediately and I'll overlook this intrusion.

[ A good old-fashioned stare-down, that's where they're at.]

I can't imagine you being happy about ANYONE else being happy except yourself.

That's your limit.

[ She's not gonna force you, mind. Everyone is free to do as they please, so long as they aren't inconveniencing her personally. And, on the contrary, you've entertained her. Just for that, she has decided you may stay on her trip.

So she puts her paddle and her ball down. ] Then, may you pass the evening in a manner more pleasing to you....

[ ....the fact that this will drive you crazier than a fight is also a perk ]

[It feels good to be able to keep up with this kind of reasoning, even if she's young. Wendy settles back, satisfied, and nods at the direction. It wasn't like she'd know on her own, after all. Carefully taking it since she's still a little clumsy with chopsticks, Wendy takes a bite.]

[All Japanese food still has a unique taste to it for her; she'd be paying mind of it even without the lesson. As it is, she tries to put a little more effort into it before swallowing.]

I think it tastes.... pretty refreshing. Sweet almost? [She tilts her head to the side.] I'm not good at describing tastes, but I think I like it.

[ Hibiki nods over her own. ] That impression is what's most important.

[ Both in cuisine, and in performance. Can you move the audience's hearts? Can you resound with them, and with your partners on stage? ]

You'll be treated to the full variety of flavors. Savor each of them.

[ You may, if you wish, use her as your example. But she has a feeling you'll do just fine.

[Well, it's pretty fancy food; she was going to savor them anyway. Still, with Hibiki in the lead, Wendy knows where to go from there. Happily, she lets herself fall into relaxed silence as they eat, picking each course as she's shown.]

[It's nice. After all the excitement, it feels good to just relax and eat while in a beautiful place in the middle of nature.]

[See? She knew it would turn out alright in the end.]

I have a few things in mind.... [Crossing her arms, Wendy thinks.] ...But it depends. How many people do you know here?

[She smiles curiously at Wendy.]

[Playfully, she winks and taps one finger to her lips.]

You'll see. It'll be a surprise.

[ Wendy is a good shinki. Hibiki is aware of this - maybe not of the fullness of everything Wendy's doing for her, consciously, but she has absolutely no complaints to make. Not with Wendy, and not with the content of this meal.

Relaxation does, at last, appear to have been obtained. ]

Well, I'll leave it to you, then.

[Luna smiles, laughing a little as she reaches over to gently set her hand atop Wendy's.]

[ The last note trails off as the song ends, the singer unsure of what is to come in this great battlefield known as love, only that it will be bloody and painful. Not that Tsubasa herself knows any better, but isn't acting a part of being a singer?

Probably.

It's not until she puts her microphone down that she realises she had an audience, as absorbed as she was by the act of singing, but she does eventually, and gives the other guest a small bow. ]

Ah... I hope you enjoyed that.

[ Oddly enough, there's no embarrassment here. Nothing like that. Instead, faced with the prospect of having an audience, Tsubasa just wants to make sure she did well enough. ]

Ah, it was pretty incredible!

[Realizing that Tsubasa hadn't noticed her until now makes Natsuru suddenly very self-conscious.]

Really, you sounded like a professional!

Really, I wonder what a professional sounds like?

[ Tsubasa herself doesn't have any memories of standing on stage, nor does she know very many singers. What she does have is a healthy dose of self-depreciation. ]

I just picked up a microphone and sung, isn't that the most important thing?
